Chapter 4 Close Your Eyes

Of course, Mu Jingpei would not care about money with a little girl like her, who usually could not even eat enough. Instead, he deliberately lowered his head and looked at her seriously. "Just you, what can you use to pay me back?"

They sat on two sides of the square table's corner. when he lowered his head, they were very close to each other.

Aixi felt her heart beat fast as the unique scent of a man approached her. She moved aside and said seriously, "Xie Jun will pay it back for me. It's the one on the business card."

"Got it."

Although it was a restaurant, there were very few dishes. What's more, it hadn't the dishes Mu Jingpei ordered.

The boss explained that because of the continuous heavy rain, no one came out, so he didn't go shopping.

Mu Jingpei was convinced. "Then just tell me what dishes do you have."

"Noodles. How's the chicken drumstick noodles?"

Since there was no other choice, Mu Jingpei had to say, "Okay, two bowls please."

Not long after, two bowls of hot chicken drumstick noodles were served.

There were showings floating on the dark soup, and the white noodles were sharp like island. A braised drumstick was placed on it, and verdant onions were embellished on the soup.

Seeing Aixi staring at the noodles with shining eyes, Mu Jingpei said, "Eat."

She picked up her chopsticks and began to eat.

Seeing that she enjoyed eating drumstick, Mu Jingpei also gave her his drumstick.

Looking at the extra drumstick in her bowl, Aixi was stunned. She looked up at Mu Jingpei with slightly red eyes, like a poor little animal.

It was easy to fool her with just a drumstick.

Mu Jingpei was moved. "Do you want two more drumsticks? You can have enough."

Then he added, "When you're full, go back."

Aixi was immediately unhappy and said in a muffled voice, "I'm not going back."

She was really stubborn.

Mu Jingpei said, "Then eat first."

The little girl ate slowly, but it gave people the feeling that she was enjoying. Mu Jingpei didn't have much appetite at first, but under her influence, he soon finished the noodles.

Seeing that he had finished eating and was about to stand up to leave, Aixi immediately stopped eating and stayed close to him, for fear that he would leave her behind.

Mu Jingpei twitched the corner of his mouth and said, "I'm going to find a tree behind to pee. Do you want to go with me?"

Aixi blushed and sat down uneasily.

Out of the restaurant, Mu Jingpei curled his lips.

He finally got rid of this little trouble.

Mu Jingpei walked to the car and looked back.

Aixi was still sitting in the restaurant, eating noodles and looking around. With a car blocking her, she couldn't see what he was doing.

If he got in the car and left now, she would definitely not be able to catch up with him.

However, it was not good to leave a little girl in a strange place. It was nearly a hundred kilometers away from Hongfeng Village. She didn't even have a mobile phone, and it was difficult to find way back. What if she met a bad guy and was taken away.

Thinking of this, Mu Jingpei stopped the hand touching the door.

After a fierce fight, he swore irritably and turned back.

Forget it.

Aixi heaved a sigh of relief when she saw him return.

The more he thought about it, the more regretful he became. Mu Jingpei stood at the door of the restaurant and lit a cigarette.

Light smoke rose, outlining his handsome facial features and covering his expression.

After finishing a cigarette, he walked in.

Glancing at her bowl, he asked, "Have you finished eating?"

Aixi nodded. In fact, she had finished eating for a while, waiting for him obediently.

Mu Jingpei said, "Let's go."

"Okay!" Aixi followed.

Hearing the light footsteps behind him, Mu Jingpei couldn't get rid of the irritation in his heart. He didn't know why he had been so soft-hearted just now.

Aixi climbed into the back seat of the off-road vehicle.

After sitting in the driver's seat and closing the door, Mu Jingpei said to her, "Close your eyes."

Aixi asked in confusion, "What for?"

"It's a little hot. I want to change into a T-shirt." Mu Jingpei picked up the T-shirt in the passenger seat and deliberately teased her. "Of course, I don't mind if you want to see. I'm mainly afraid that you'll be shy."

Aixi blushed and immediately covered her eyes with her hands. "Then change it quickly!"

Mu Jingpei was flattered by her reaction. He laughed and began to unbutton his shirt. His slender fingers were like works of art carved in plaster.

It was quiet in the car, and only the sound of clothes rubbing against each other could be heard.

"It's done." After putting on the black T-shirt, Mu Jingpei showed his strong arms, which were full of masculine characteristics.

Aixi peeked through the gaps between her fingers. When she saw that he had really changed his clothes, she put down her hand.

"Did you peek?"

Aixi felt a little thirsty for some reason as she curiously saw the narrow waist between her fingers.

She felt guilty and denied, "No!"

As the car drove, the heat on her face had not completely dissipated until her attention was slowly attracted by the scenery of the town outside the window. When she came, she was sleeping and didn't see it.

The sky light outside the car illuminated her face.

From the rearview mirror, he saw her leaning against the window and staring. Mu Jingpei chuckled and laughed at her for being inexperienced. Such a small town made her so excited. He didn't know how she would react when she saw big cities like the capital and Shanghai.

"Haven't you been to the town before?" he asked.

Aixi replied, "It's inconvenient for us to go out of the village. I've been to the town four times in my life."

Mu Jingpei thought for a moment. Hongfeng Village was so remote that it was dozens of kilometers away from the nearest town. It was full of difficult mountain roads and there was no car. It was really not easy to go to the town.

"Right." He suddenly recalled something. "Do you have an ID card?"

Aixi turned her head to the front. "ID card?"

"You have to have an ID card when you go out, no matter taking plane, train, car, or accommodation."

Judging from her reaction, she didn't have it. Then she should go back.

Just as Mu Jingpei was about to say "go home if you don't have an ID card", she took out a small card from her pocket, handed it to him like presenting a treasure, and said happily, "I've brought it!"

Mu Jingpei stopped smiling and said, "... Okay."

"It seems that you are not very happy?"

It would be strange if he was happy.

Mu Jingpei said, "Be quiet. Don't disturb me when I'm driving."

"Oh." Aixi put her ID card well and continued to look out of the window.

More than 20 minutes after the car drove out of town, the sky, which was about to clear up, darkened again.

Suddenly, the phone of Mu Jingpei rang.

During the five days when he was trapped in the heavy rain, the network in Hongfeng Village was cut off, and there was no signal. He almost forgot the existence of his mobile phone.

The person who called him was Wen Qiu. He was his childhood friend and even they went to college together. After graduation, Mu Jingpei and his other three friends set up a studio to make documentaries together.

"You finally get through, Jingpei."

Wen Qiu was a cameraman, and Mu Jingpei was responsible for post-production.

It was not that Mu Jingpei didn't know how to film or direct, but he felt that it was too troublesome to be a cameraman for carrying the equipment. And director or planner was too worried. For post-production, he could sit in front of the computer and cut the film quietly and read the materials. Moreover, the director and the planner couldn't control him, which was comfortable and free. This time, it was rare for him to shoot with cameraman together.

"Well, the rain stopped last night. I'm driving to the airport now." Mu Jingpei said in a lazy voice.

"Then be careful. I've checked the weather there. It's going to rain heavily."

Mu Jingpei was silent for a moment and said, "Don't jinx it."

"It's true! The weather forecast said so."

As soon as Wen Qiu finished speaking, Mu Jingpei saw drops of rain fall on the windshield in front of the car, drop by drop.

Aixi also saw the raindrops and said, "It's raining again, Mu Jingpei."

On the other end of the phone, Wen Qiu said, "Hey, Jingpei, why is there a woman's voice? Is there a woman in your car?"
