Chapter 7 Rushing into His Arms

In the heavy rain, an old bus was desperately moving forward on the stone bridge across the riverbank, like a bird flying in the storm. The rain kept falling until it was about to collapse, and then it continued to fly towards vitality.

The bridge head was getting closer and closer. After crossing the bridge, there was a slope, above which was a relatively safe place.

But the danger was getting closer and closer. The mountain torrent rolled over with the washed mud and trees, leaving a mess wherever it passed. In front of the mountain torrent, the originally solid soil and thick trees became so fragile that they could not withstand a single blow.

Except for the children who couldn't control their emotions, everyone else in the bus was so nervous that they didn't dare to speak.

They looked at the rolling water from time to time, and then looked at the little girl at the front. She was their only chance of survival.

Only Mu Jingpei, who was very close to Aixi, could see that her arm was shaking.

"Will the bus stall in the water, Mu Jingpei?" Aixi suddenly asked.

Mu Jingpei looked out and found that the water had begun to spread to the bridge, which made him panic.

"It's okay. Keep driving. We'll be there soon." His calm voice comforted Aixi.

In fact, his heart sank to the bottom.

How could he be fine? If the bus stalled in the water, there would be no way to restart it. At that time, the whole car could only wait for the mountain torrent to come.

The water level was still rising. A few seconds ago, water had just reached the bridge, but now there was only a small part of the tire left. It was as if death had stretched out a hand to touch their ankles, trying to grab them.

Aixi bit her lip nervously and stopped talking.

The wheels cut through the water surface like knives, splashing water in through the window. The bus was all wet. The children in the bus cried even harder at the same time.

The cry that represented fear reached everyone's ears. Looking out of the window, they could only see murky water. Every time someone collapsed, there would be a second one. Despair began to spread in the bus at an unstoppable speed, about to engulf everyone.

Mu Jingpei propped himself up with one hand, staggered to Aixi, and looked ahead. Without batting an eyelid, he used his body to isolate himself from the rest behind, giving Aixi a relatively stable space.

"Aixi, we're here." His deep and calm voice was particularly clear in the chaos.

Aixi was affected, and the panic in her eyes seemed to have been washed away.

Her eyes became more determined. "Yes!"

She wanted to live.

Everyone had to live.

She was going to Shanghai with Mu Jingpei.

The sudden jolt almost made their hearts jump out of their throats.

Then, they crossed the bridge.

They finally crossed the bridge.

Someone in the car cheered.

As soon as the bus passed by, the mountain torrent swallowed the bridge in an instant, and even a piece of the ground on the shore was washed away. The back wheel of the bus almost fell into the air.

If the bus hadn't crossed the bridge, they would have been washed away and disappeared like the bridge.

Behind them was a muddy mountain torrent. It was like a monster that could pounce over and bite them at any moment. Aixi did not dare to relax at all and stepped hard on the accelerator.

It was not until she reached the high ground and heard a "safe" in her ear that she let go of the accelerator and slammed on the brakes.

The bus suddenly stopped. Everyone leaned forward, and several of them fell.

However, compared to being devoured by the mountain torrent, it was nothing.

The nearby fellow villagers had already rushed over to ask questions. Many of them witnessed the whole process of the bus rushing up and breathed a sigh of relief.

The door opened, and the people in the bus got out one after another. Everyone was in a mess, and their faces were full of joy and excitement.

Life was always beautiful and precious.

At this moment, there was nothing more wonderful than surviving a disaster.

Aixi breathed a sigh of relief. When she moved, she found that her hands and feet were stiff and painful because she had exerted too much strength. Fortunately, the villagers came to help her.

Mu Jingpei was the last to get out of the car. As soon as he got out of the bus, he saw Aixi surrounded by the villagers with a shy smile on her face.

Everyone had already regarded her as a hero.

When Aixi saw him, she immediately ran through the crowd toward him.

Mu Jingpei curled his lips and said, "Well done."

As soon as he finished speaking, he saw Aixi pursing her lips. Her eyes turned red at once and tears welled up in her eyes.

The next second, Aixi threw herself into his arms and cried with lingering fear.

Mu Jingpei was almost knocked down by her.

In the blink of an eye, the brave little girl threw herself into his arms and cried pitifully. It was a little funny and softhearted. Mu Jingpei didn't know whether to laugh or cry.

"It's terrible," Aixi said as she cried.

If she suddenly relaxed after too nervous, she would collapse easily.

Mu Jingpei comforted her and said, "Don't be afraid. We're safe now."

Everyone in the village looked over. They seemed to have become the center of attention, and some considerate people even came over to hold umbrellas for them. Those who didn't know the story would think that they were filming an idol drama.

Mu Jingpei coughed softly and wanted to pull her away, but he didn't.

Aixi cried so hard that she buried her face in his arms and said vaguely, "My parents also died in the mountain torrent. I thought we also would die."

It turned out that she had thought of her parents.

No wonder she was so scared.

Mu Jingpei didn't want to pull her away anymore. He patted her back gently with his uninjured hand, as if he was coaxing a child. His voice was gentle, "It's okay. It's all in the past."

Being comforted, Aixi cried even harder. "And that bus, it's my first time driving it."

She thought of something and said, "Why is the bus so difficult to drive!"

"I'm really scared!"

"My dad also lied to me that driving is a happy thing. I'm not happy at all!"

"Fortunately, I remember what my dad taught me. I..."

Suddenly, Aixi felt a weight on her shoulder. It was Mu Jingpei. His lips were pressed against her neck, soft.

Why did he suddenly...

It was the first time in her life that Aixi had been so close to an adult man. They were all wet in the rain. Their clothes stuck to their bodies, which made them look more like another layer of skin. She could even feel the temperature of his body.

She was so nervous that she forgot to cry, and her face, which was cold from the rain, became hot.

" Mu Jingpei, you..."

Just as she was about to raise her head, Mu Jingpei pressed down on her.

You could imagine how heavy the 1.8-meter-tall man was. Aixi lost her balance and took a few steps back, almost falling down. Fortunately, she was supported by her fellow villagers behind her.

Realizing that something was wrong, Aixi asked, "What's wrong, Mu Jingpei?"

She touched his injured arm, and her face changed.

His arm was covered with blood.
