When Mu Jingpei woke up again, he found himself in a room.
The furnishings in the room were simple. There was only a bed, a table, and a wardrobe. It should be the home of a fellow countryman.
He lifted the quilt and found that his injured arm had been bandaged.
The door opened and Aixi walked in.
When Aixi saw that he was awake, her eyes lit up. Her excitement was written all over her face. "You're awake!"
She was wearing a pink T-shirt, which should have been given to her by a fellow countryman. It didn't fit her very well, which made her look very slender, like a piece of paper.
She walked quickly toward Mu Jingpei with a basin of water in her hand. As she walked, the water almost overflowed.
Mu Jingpei replied with a "hmm" and sat up with his uninjured hand. When he exerted himself, he found that he had no strength left.
Aixi put down the water and helped him up, saying, "You slept all night. You had a fever in the first half of the night. The doctor in the village saw the wound on your arm and said that you were very weak and needed to have a good rest."
Leaning against the headboard, Mu Jingpei chuckled and said grumpily, "The doctor must have said 'weak'."
Aixi looked at him innocently. Was there any difference?
She didn't understand anything, and Mu Jingpei didn't bother to explain it to her. He just said, "Anyway, They are different weak. Do you understand?"
Although Aixi didn't understand why, she still nodded.
Mu Jingpei was very satisfied with her obedience. He said, "Good girl."
Because of the fever, his voice was a little hoarse and low, like the lowest note on the strings. Aixi secretly glanced at his Adam's apple, and the sound seemed to come from there.
"You lost a lot of blood on your arm yesterday, which scared me." Speaking of yesterday, she couldn't help but think of the scene when his head was on her shoulder.
Mu Jingpei looked at her carefully and asked, "Why is your face so red?"
"No, nothing." Aixi unconsciously reached out to touch her neck. It felt soft and itchy.
Mu Jingpei thought that she was embarrassed because she had hugged him and cried yesterday. After all, this little girl was very shy.
Seeing the basin of water on the table out of the corner of her eye, Aixi remembered what she came here for and said, "I'm here to wipe your face."
"I want to take a shower." Mu Jingpei looked at his clothes. Although he had changed, his clothes covered his sweat when he slept, which made him feel a little uncomfortable.
Aixi disagreed. "You can't take a shower now. What if you catch a cold?"
"No, it's not cold."
"Your body is weak now, so it's different." Aixi remembered that he had used the word 'weak'.
"It's uncomfortable without taking a shower."
"You can't either."
"Aixi."
"I won't give you water anyway." Aixi was surprisingly persistent in this matter, leaving no room for negotiation.
Mu Jingpei had no choice but to compromise. "Then I'll wipe my body, okay?"
Aixi had never seen such a particular man like him. She didn't understand why he still wanted to take a shower and wipe his body.
Couldn't he just make do with it?
She reminded him worriedly, "Then hurry up. Don't catch a cold."
After that, she turned to leave the room.
"Wait." Mu Jingpei stopped her.
"What's wrong?"
"My hand is not very convenient. Can you help me."
"Huh?" Aixi paused for a few seconds. "Oh."
Mu Jingpei looked at the bag on the chair and said, "Help me get some clothes."
Aixi opened the bag and saw a big and heavy thing on top of it. It was a camera. When she was in the village, she saw Mu Jingpei and a few friends holding it.
She took out a white shirt and walked to the bedside, Mu Jingpei had already sat up and turned his back on her. His uninjured hand was grabbing the hem of his shirt.
"Give me a hand," he said.
Aixi looked at the exposed part of his waist under his clothes, and then looked at his broad back. Her eyelashes trembled slightly, and she didn't know where to start.
After waiting for a while, Mu Jingpei didn't get her help and asked, "What's wrong?"
"Nothing."
Aixi pursed her lips and carefully reached out her thumb and index finger to grab a corner of his T-shirt, for fear of touching him. Then she closed her eyes and lifted it up.
Probably because the wound on his arm was pulled, Mu Jingpei hissed.
Aixi immediately opened her eyes and looked at his back. His skin was fair. He did not have exaggerated muscles, but he was not thin either. His tight lines concealed his strength.
This was not the first time she had seen the man's back, but it was the first time she had felt her mouth and tongue dry. Her heartbeat was out of control.
The T-shirt was slowly taken off, and the whole back of Mu Jingpei was exposed to Aixi.
How could he have such broad shoulders? His shoulders completely block her sight.
She looked down at his waist again. His waist was narrow and strong, just like what she accidentally saw in the car yesterday.
Stealthily looking at his whole back, Aixi looked away guiltily as if she had done something bad. She soaked the towel in the basin, wrung it dry, and quickly wiped his back.
"It's done."
Mu Jingpei felt that she was being perfunctory, which was too obvious.
He turned around and saw Aixi twisting a towel.
The water on the towel fell into the basin, making a splashing sound. Her expression was extremely serious. If it weren't for the obvious blush on her face, others would have thought that the patient she was taking care of was about to die.
Seeing her coming over with a twisted towel, she kept her eyes down and did not dare to look up at him. Mu Jingpei laughed at her and said, "You're so old-fashioned."
Aixi raised her eyebrows slightly and asked, "Why aren't you shy at all?"
Her innocent look made Mu Jingpei want to tease her. "I won't be shy when I see you."
Aixi was speechless, and her face turned even redder.
She had never seen a man like Mu Jingpei. He was the one who was injured, but he was still so calm. He had a special temperament. After thinking for a while, she thought of a word she had never seen before-Elegance.
Yes, it was elegance.
He didn't seem to be in a mess at all. Even though he was covered with his bleeding arm and leaned against the railing of the bus yesterday, there was still a hint of elegance in his eyes. Even if he didn't know whether he was dead or alive in the next second, he could calm down.
After teasing her, Mu Jingpei said, "I can do it myself."
Aixi handed him the towel and stood aside.
When Mu Jingpei wiped his body, he inadvertently looked up and happened to meet her eyes, which seemed to have just rained, clear and bright. He paused and said, "How dare you peek."
Aixi was like a frightened bird. She was so scared that she immediately looked away and denied, "I didn't."
