Chapter 25 Preference

After driving for more than an hour, Mu Jingpei stopped to rest.

The scenery on this section of mountain road was beautiful, so he stopped the car here to take pictures.

Another reason for stopping the car was that Zuo Ying was too noisy.

In order to make Aixi give up, he kept repeating Zuo Ying's words, but Zuo Ying said too much and she pretended to understand many of them.

Mu Jingpei's patience was almost exhausted and he needed to be quiet for a while.

After getting off the bus, Zuo Ying exclaimed: "This place is so beautiful!"

Then she took out her camera and started taking pictures.

For someone like Aixi who has lived in the mountains since childhood, this kind of scenery is very common, and she doesn't know what's so good about it.

Isn’t it just mountains, trees and stones?

She looked at Mu Jingpei again, and he also took out his camera.

As expected, he still had more topics to talk about with Zuo Ying.

Aixi was in a low mood and could not appreciate the scenery any more.

After taking a few photos, Zuo Ying turned around and saw the camera in Mu Jingpei's hand. Her eyes widened: "This naked camera of yours is going to cost nearly 100,000, right?"

Mu Jingpei said “hmm”.

Aixi was startled when she heard this.

Mu Jingpei’s camera is so expensive?

Zuo Ying added: "With the lens included, it will cost nearly two hundred thousand!"

Aixi gasped.

Two hundred thousand is a sky-high price for her.

Mu Jingpei doesn't treat this camera with much treasure in her hands. She has experienced mountain torrents and heavy rain. Sometimes she would ask her to help hold the camera, which gave her the illusion that "this camera is not expensive".

Thinking about the time when she didn't hold the camera firmly and almost dropped it, Aixi suddenly felt scared.

If the camera had been broken, I wouldn't have been able to afford the compensation even if I sold it.

When Aixi was surprised by the expensive camera, Zuo Ying walked up to her, took her arm and said, "Aixi, can Mu Jingpei take a photo for us?"

For some reason, Aixi didn’t want to take a photo with Zuo Ying and wanted to refuse.

But Zuo Ying had already pulled her in front of Mu Jingpei's camera.

Aixi was about to speak when she heard Mu Jingpei say, "Then take a picture."

This was the first sentence he had spoken to her in over an hour.

So, Aixi took photos with Zuo Ying.

Mu Jingpei pointed the camera at them and said, "Smile."

He actually said this to Aixi. When Zuo Ying heard it, she automatically put herself into the conversation and laughed even more happily, but Aixi couldn't laugh at all.

After taking two photos, Mu Jingpei looked at them.

In both photos, Zuo Ying's eyes are either about to open or close, and her expression is terrible. It is obvious who the camera favors.

Mu Jingpei looked at Aixi's stiff expression in the photo and curled her lips.

How can you be so stupid?

After taking the group photo as if completing a task, Aixi said, "I don't want to take any more photos."

Zuo Ying's request to take a photo with Aixi was just a pretense. She didn't care that Aixi didn't take a photo, and looked at Mu Jingpei expectantly and said, "Can you take a few photos for me?"

Mu Jingpei saw through her trick but did not refuse.

Zuo Ying put on sunglasses and a hat and found a good position.

As Aixi walked to the other side, she turned around and saw Mu Jingpei taking a photo of Zuo Ying.

She felt sad and looked away.

Zuo Ying is obviously very good at taking the kind of literary photos that are very popular on the Internet, and she strikes the right poses.

The photos look good at first glance, but they are all the same. You can find at least thousands of photos with similar poses on the Internet. They are soulless and boring.

But Mu Jingpei was too lazy to tell her.

After casually pressing the shutter to take a few decent photos, Mu Jingpei lost his patience, said something to her and left, looking elsewhere.

Zuo Ying looked at Mu Jingpei, feeling a little regretful.

In fact, she was not satisfied yet, but she did not dare to ask him to continue.

Not to mention in such a remote place, even in big cities, such a handsome man is rare, and the elegant and noble temperament that he inadvertently revealed was something she had never seen before.

She didn’t know why, but even though he kept responding to her later, Zuo Ying always had the feeling that he was difficult to talk to.

She had no choice but to continue taking selfies.

After recording the scenery with the camera, Mu Jingpei turned around and saw Aixi standing by the car, looking quietly into the distance.

She didn't know what she was thinking, and her eyes were a little blank.

She was wearing the turmeric-yellow dress that she and he had bought together. It stood out against the lush green surroundings without being glaring.

The gentle breeze blew up her hair and skirt, making her look slender and light. She had a simple and lively temperament, pure without a trace of impurities, much like a mountain elf.

Mu Jingpei quietly picked up the camera and took a picture.

After resting for about half an hour, they prepared to set off again.

Aixi was about to open the passenger door and get in the car when Zuo Ying stopped her.

"Aixi, can I discuss with you that we can change seats?"

Aixi has never heard of such sayings on the Internet as "a man's front passenger seat is only for his girlfriend or wife" or "you can't just sit on a man's front passenger seat". She just thinks that the front passenger seat is closer to Mu Jingpei, so it should be someone more familiar with her.

Between her and Zuo Ying, it is obvious that she is more familiar and closer to Mu Jingpei.

Subconsciously, she didn't want to change, so she looked at Mu Jingpei.

She didn't know why, but she just wanted to see Mu Jingpei's attitude and what he would say.

Mu Jingpei had already gotten into the car, one hand lazily resting on the steering wheel, his fingers slender and strong.

Facing Aixi's expectant gaze, he paused, looked away and said, "I don't mind."

Aixi felt upset at his nonchalant look, and said angrily, "Then let's change it."

She withdrew her hand, opened the back door and got in.

Zuo Ying was secretly delighted and sat in the passenger seat.

Mu Jingpei actually hates strangers sitting on his passenger seat, and there are only a few people who have sat on his passenger seat.

Of course, the only people who had ridden in his car were people he knew.

The car was back on the road, and Mu Jingpei looked at Aixi through the rearview mirror.

He just happened to see the little girl looking at him with eyes full of grievance and a bit of pity, as if he had committed some terrible mistake, which made him feel soft-hearted.

But he couldn't be soft-hearted.

It's right to be sad. Being sad will make her give up on him sooner. It's for her own good.

They are simply not suitable and impossible.

Mu Jingpei no longer looked back.

For the rest of the journey, Aixi was very quiet and didn't even bother to look out the window.

As Mu Jingpei was driving, Aixi's resentful and aggrieved expression kept appearing in his mind, and his mood gradually became irritable.

But Zuo Ying kept trying to chat with him. The voice from the passenger seat was much clearer than that from the back seat.

Mu Jingpei said a few perfunctory words and was too lazy to say anything else, so he simply pretended he didn't hear anything.

Zuo Ying noticed Mu Jingpei's emotions and stopped talking.

Everyone fell silent.

The atmosphere in the car gradually became indescribably weird.
