Chapter 26 Night

Mu Jingpei and his friends didn't have a very tight schedule today, so they arrived in Taixia County around 3 or 4 in the afternoon.

When we arrived at the county, we saw people coming and going on the road. Influenced by the hustle and bustle outside, the atmosphere in the car began to return to normal.

There are no youth hostels in Taixia County, so Mu Jingpei drove around looking for a small inn that offered shared accommodation.

He asked for two beds and turned around to ask Aixi for her ID card for registration.

Aixi handed it over silently.

When she took the ID card, Mu Jingpei glanced at her.

The girl's boredom was obvious.

Seeing them check in, Zuo Ying asked in surprise: "Are you staying here?"

She thought that a rich man like Mu Jingpei would definitely stay in the best hotel in the county, but she didn't expect him to stay in a bed that cost only a few dozen yuan a night.

Mu Jingpei hummed and said, "You can live anywhere you want. You don't have to live with us."

After saying that, he picked up the small bag that Aixi was holding and said to Aixi, "Come in."

Aixi followed him silently.

Zuo Ying looked at Mu Jingpei's back with admiration in her eyes. With a height of about 1.8 meters, broad shoulders and slender legs, her back alone looked like a walking magazine.

She said to her boss, "I want a bed, too. I'm with them, so please arrange for me to be with them."

Without Zuo Ying, Aixi's depressed mood improved a little.

After entering the room, she tried to speak to Mu Jingpei.

At this moment, the door of the room was pushed open.

Zuo Ying came in with her luggage and said, "I'm out of money, I can only afford a bed, do you mind staying with me?"

Mu Jingpei smiled and said, "Of course, I don't own the inn."

His casual smile seemed somewhat seductive to Aixi, and he was smiling at Zuo Ying.

Aixi felt upset and didn't want to talk anymore, so she turned around to organize her things.

Although Taixia County is a county town, there are still no entertainment activities after dark.

After dinner, everyone went to the public bathroom to take a shower.

When Aixi came back from taking a shower, Mu Jingpei was the only one in the room, and Zuo Ying had not finished yet.

Mu Jingpei was playing with her mobile phone and subconsciously raised her eyes when she heard the sound of the door opening.

When their eyes met, Aixi turned away angrily and didn't look at him.

Mu Jingpei's eyes fell on her wet hair and asked, "Why don't you blow dry your hair?"

"It's too hot. I don't want to blow it."

As soon as Aixi finished speaking, a shadow appeared in front of her eyes.

Then a dry towel was placed over her head, almost blocking her vision.

Mu Jingpei's voice rang above her head: "Turn on the air conditioner, don't cry if you have a headache tomorrow."

Aixi: "I won't cry!"

Mu Jingpei laughed and subconsciously wanted to rub her head through the towel, but she held back.

He reminded her, "Wait until your hair is dry before going to bed."

"oh."

Mu Jingpei still cared about her. Aixi felt a little better and climbed onto the upper bunk.

Not long after, Zuo Ying came back.

"Hey, you're all done washing."

Aixi looked down and saw that Zuo Ying was wearing a lavender suspender nightgown. The fabric was silk, very close-fitting, and the neckline was very low. She was wearing a thin dress on the outside.

From her angle, she could just see Zuo Ying's breasts exposed from under her neckline, a bright white patch.

Aixi blushed when she saw this.

How can you wear so little when there’s a grown man like Mu Jingpei here!

She subconsciously looked at Mu Jingpei who was sleeping on the lower bunk, only to see him scrolling through his phone without seeming to look up.

I don’t know if he saw it.

After coming back from taking a shower, Zuo Ying looked towards Mu Jingpei from time to time.

She had just started to say a few words when Aixi said, "Let's turn off the lights and go to bed!"

Mu Jingpei's voice came from the lower bunk: "Blow dry your hair first."

Aixi: "It doesn't matter if I don't blow dry it. I don't want to do it anymore."

Mu Jingpei didn't say anything, but stood up and left the room. Soon, he came back with a hair dryer in his hand.

"Come down."

Aixi had no choice but to get out of bed.

Zuo Ying looked at them and said, "You really look like a close brother and sister."

Mu Jingpei looked at Aixi: “Indeed.”

Aixi denied it in her heart, they were not brother and sister.

She turned on the hair dryer and blew her hair.

The whirring sound of the hair dryer masked her emotions.

After she dried her hair and returned to the upper bunk, Mu Jingpei turned off the light.

Because of her bad mood, Aixi couldn't sleep again that night.

As soon as she closed her eyes, the first thing she thought of was Mu Jingpei's coldness towards her today.

The scenes from the day flashed back in her mind uncontrollably. One moment, Zuo Ying was sitting in the passenger seat and chatting with Mu Jingpei, the next moment, Mu Jingpei was taking a photo of Zuo Ying, and the next moment, Zuo Ying was wearing a suspender nightgown after taking a bath.

The feeling of insomnia was so uncomfortable that she forced herself to keep her eyes closed. She couldn't tell how much time had passed. It seemed like only a short while, and yet it seemed like it was already midnight.

Half asleep and half awake, she vaguely heard two doors closing.

Aixi was afraid of disturbing Mu Jingpei who was sleeping in the lower bunk, so she didn't dare to turn over.

But she felt uncomfortable no matter how she slept, and finally she couldn't help but turned over and opened her eyes.

The room was very quiet, and there was a full moon outside tonight. With the little light coming in through the window, she glanced at the clock on the wall and found that it was already past one in the morning.

Then, she discovered that Zuo Ying's lower bunk bed opposite her was empty.

I don't know where she went so late. Maybe she went to the bathroom.

Aixi glanced at her lower bunk for some unknown reason.

Mu Jingpei wasn't there either.

She remembered the two door closing sounds she heard when she was dazed, and it seemed that it was not a dream.

Why are the two of them not in the room together in the middle of the night?

Aixi had an inexplicable bad feeling in her heart, so she simply got up and got out of bed.

There was no one in the corridor in the early morning and the lights were a little dim.

The light in the bathroom was off, so there should be no one there.

So where can they go?

Aixi walked along the corridor and heard a faint sound coming from the corner at the end of the corridor, as if there was someone there.

She couldn't help but walk over with lighter steps.

Turning the corner at the end of the corridor, she saw Mu Jingpei and Zuo Ying.

Mu Jingpei was seen leaning against the mottled wall in a somewhat ruffian manner, with her body completely exposed, her entire face in shadow, and her expression unclear.

Zuo Ying was standing in front of him, grasping the hem of his T-shirt with one hand, while the thin strap of her nightgown slipped down her arm, revealing a large area of skin.

The two were very close. In the middle of the night, in a dim corner, a man and a woman were untidy and very ambiguous.

This is a scene Aixi has never seen before.

She took a step back unconsciously, and the sudden footsteps broke the silence and startled the two of them.

The two looked towards her.

Aixi froze in place, her voice trembling: "What are you doing?"

Mu Jingpei waved Zuo Ying's hand away, stood up straight, and asked Aixi: "Why did you run out in the middle of the night?"

It was obvious that they were the ones who didn't sleep first and ran out.

Aixi looked at Mu Jingpei and asked again: "What are you doing?"

Her expression was determined, as if she wanted to get to the bottom of the matter.
