Chapter 26 Hesitation

“No, just water is fine.”

“Come on, watermelon juice is really good, give it a try!”

As soon as Megan spoke, the door to the private room was pushed open. A waiter walked in, looking anxious, “Miss Kang, she is missing!”

John looked puzzled, “Who?”

After a pause, his eyes sharpened, “Ashley is missing?!”

Megan glared at the waiter, and then sweetly turned to John, “Maybe she went to the restroom on another floor. Let’s wait for her.”

John felt something was off and looked at Megan. But Megan blinked innocently, “I was worried she wouldn’t find the restroom, so I asked the waiter to guide her.”

For her, it didn’t matter if she ran away; after being drugged, whether she encountered beggars or thugs, she’s gonna be dead.

Megan was confident, “Or maybe she ran into someone she knows? This hotel has a lot of guests.”

John instinctively thought of the school’s parking lot that day.

He had lied to Ashley. Actually, he had actually seen it that day.

A tall man had one hand gripping Ashley’s waist, and the car shook for a long time in the parking lot.

John had watched from behind a tree until they left.

Seeing John’s troubled expression, Megan continued to provoke, “Mr. Fang, I heard Ashley is quite popular at school. Is that true? I also heard she has some ambiguous relationships with Robert.”

John ignored her and looked directly at the waiter, “Can you check the surveillance? I’m worried something might have happened to my girlfriend.”

The waiter nodded.

John immediately headed out, with Megan reluctantly following.

In the surveillance room, they easily found Ashley’s traces. They saw her enter the elevator and press the top floor button, but couldn’t view the surveillance footage of the top floor.

The waiter explained, “The top floor is a private area of our hotel. The people who go up there are either rich or powerful, and the surveillance has high permissions.”

John’s face darkened as he left the surveillance room and headed for the elevator.

Megan followed him to the top floor.

When they exited the elevator, the entire corridor was empty. The air had a faint aroma and was exceptionally cool, a luxury John had never experienced before.

John, worried about Ashley’s safety, decided to knock on each door one by one.

Megan grabbed his hand, “Mr. Fang, let me help you.”

“No need,” John pulled away from her, “I can handle this myself.”

“Mr. Fang, the people staying here are rich and powerful. If you rudely knock on their doors, they might get angry. My family has some connections, I can help you.”

John looked at Megan’s eager expression, “Did you do something to Ashley?”

In the surveillance footage earlier, Ashley clearly seemed off.

Megan frowned, “What could I have done?”

John didn’t know Megan well, but he had heard about her usual behavior. —She was definitely not as considerate and gentle as she appeared today.

Otherwise, he wouldn’t have asked Ashley to help him deal with her after being pestered by Megan.

But Megan’s behavior today was too strange, and now with Ashley missing, it was hard for John not to suspect her.

John looked at Megan silently. As they were at an impasse, a sudden bang came from a room not far away, followed by a woman’s scream.

John, his face changing, rushed over.

He immediately knocked on the door, “Open the door!”

The commotion inside quieted for a moment.

John knocked again, “Ashley, are you in there? Open the door!”

Footsteps were heard inside, followed by the sound of the door unlocking. The door slowly opened, and Brian walked out, raising an eyebrow at the people outside, “Who are you?”

John’s expression changed.

He’s the man from the parking lot!

At this moment, Brian’s shirt was open, the collar wrinkled, indicating hurried and frantic movements. There was also smeared lipstick at the corner of his mouth and slight bite marks on his Adam’s apple, which was all very alluring.

John clenched his fists.

Ashley usually went without makeup. But today, she had only put on light makeup to help him deal with Megan.

If he wasn’t mistaken, it seemed to be the same color as the one on Brian’s lips.

John looked past Brian into the room, seeing only a figure wrapped in a blanket on the sofa. A pale arm stretched out from the blanket, with a red mark around the wrist.

Brian moved, blocking his view, “Hey, what are you doing?”

John tried to enter, but Megan held him back tightly.

Megan scrutinized Brian, “Are you... Mr. Brian?”

Brian finally looked at her, “Do you know me?”

“No, but I’ve seen your photo in magazines.” Megan hesitated, “I remember... you’re engaged to Olivia, right?”

Brian glanced at her, “So?”

Megan looked into the room, “Who is the woman inside?”

Brian calmly looked at her, “My affairs are none of your business.”

“I’m Olivia’s friend!” Brian laughed, “What, you’re here to catch me cheating on her?”

As he spoke, he wiped the lipstick from the corner of his mouth.

Megan blushed from his teasing, wanting to leave but unwilling to go just yet. If the woman inside was really Ashley, she could help her friend get back at him and also won John from Ashley.

Thinking of this, Megan gained some confidence, “I am gonna get in and take a look.”

Brian sneered.

“My senior accidentally ended up on the top floor, we need to find her!” Megan stared straight at Brian, “If she’s in your room, that’s rape!”

Brian’s dark eyes looked at her, displeased.

John wanted to barge in, but Brian blocked the way by standing at the door.

Megan, afraid of conflict with Brian, held John’s arm tightly to prevent him from fighting Brian.

“Megan? Is that you?” Megan turned and saw Olivia coming out of the room next door.

She was wearing a very tight lace camisole dress, revealing a deep curve, exuding a petite but exquisite allure.

And her chest was dotted with red marks; her hair was messy, and her lipstick was smudged.

She looked... like she had been thoroughly loved.

Megan’s eyes roamed over her before settling back on Brian.

Weren’t they getting engaged? Why did they come out of different rooms, both looking like they just had a sex?

John, unaware of Megan’s confusion, saw Brian looking at Olivia, so he quickly pushed the waiter towards him.

Brian was pushed back a few steps, and John took the opportunity to rush into the room, yanking the blanket off the sofa,

“Ashley!”

The blanket was pulled aside, revealing the person underneath.

Megan also rushed in, seeing the woman, but freezing for a moment,

“Spencer Reed?”

The popular actress, Spencer?! How could it be her?!

Spencer, blushing, sat up and hurriedly tidied her clothes. Her pale skin was marked with red kissing marks, “Who are you? Get out!”

Megan and John looked at each other, speechless.

Brian, with a dark face, walked over, “Had enough? Get out of here!”
