John was about to say something, but his phone buzzed. He swiped the screen and saw a message from Ashley.
Ashley, “My mom suddenly has a fever. I need to go to the hospital. Sorry, I can’t act with you tonight. Can you handle it on your own? Megan doesn’t seem that troublesome.”
John let out a sigh of relief and quickly replied, “You take care first.”
Megan saw the message too, her eyes darkening. What was going on?
Olivia, tipsy and stumbling, approached. When she saw Brian, she immediately clung to his arm and rubbed against it, “Brian, I still want...”
Her voice was coquettish and soft, tinged with a seductive allure.
Brian looked at her coldly, then swept his gaze around the room, “Get out.”
Megan shivered but quickly regained her composure. Without bothering to investigate further, she apologized to Brian and dragged John away.
Once they left, the room fell silent.
Spencer, no longer embarrassed, calmly got up from the sofa. She grabbed a wet wipe and began cleaning the red marks on her collarbone and neck. The “kiss marks“ and “fingerprints“ were all faked using lipstick.
Brian said, “Please wait,” and carried Olivia to the adjacent room. When he returned, Spencer had already tidied up.
Brian lit a cigarette, “Thanks. The resource will be delivered tonight.”
Spencer looked at him with a smile, “Mr. Quinn, thank you.”
“You acted well,” Brian remarked.
Spencer proudly lifted her head, “I may not have become a leading actress, but I did win the Best Newcomer Award.”
She didn’t linger, picking up her purse from the sofa, “Well, please enjoy yourself. I’ll be leaving.”
Brian nodded, “About earlier...”
Spencer chuckled softly, “What about earlier? I just stayed at the hotel to avoid paparazzi, had a rare relaMegang time, and slept alone.”
Hearing this, Brian nodded in satisfaction.
After Spencer left, Brian closed the door and then headed to the inner room.
It was a suite, and everyone had focused only on the outer room, forgetting to check inside. As soon as Brian opened the door, the air was filled with a strong scent of roses.
Ashley lay on the bed, looking as flushed as a ripe peach.
Brian approached her, and Ashley weakly opened her eyes, “Mr, I feel... uncomfortable...” Brian bent down, “Weren’t you quite fierce just now?”
The moment they met, she had turned him into this mess.
Ashley wrapped her arms around him, eagerly seeking a kiss. Brian tore off her remaining clothes and pressed down on her...
Back in her room, Spencer finally let go of her fake smile.
She sat expressionlessly on the sofa for an hour until her phone rang.
“Hello?”
“Yunwan, how did you do it?” Her manager screamed over the phone, “Mr. Daniel, the special assistant to the president of Quinn Group, just sent an invitation for you to be the new spokesperson for their new phone!”
This was a deal worth a billion!
Spencer sighed in relief. The deal was secured! She couldn’t contain her smile, “I have my ways. Make the arrangements, I’ll be back to sign the contract in the morning!”
After hanging up, Spencer paced around the room, unable to calm her excitement, and she couldn’t help but recall the events of the afternoon.
To secure the Quinn Group endorsement, Spencer had been gathering information about the executive president, Brian. Upon learning he had booked a room at a hotel, she decided to coincidentally meet him.
In her plan, if she could connect with Brian, it would be worth any cost. But just as she reached the top floor, she saw Brian coming out of a room in a suggestive manner.
Inside, his fiancée’s voice was passionate. Yet, Brian left without any reluctance and headed to the opposite room.
Before Spencer could react, Brian received a call, suddenly pulled her into the room, and asked her to cooperate.
Everything happened inexplicably, but Spencer found it quite interesting.
...
When Ashley woke up again, it was already dark.
She lay weakly in bed, listening to Brian’s phone conversation in the outer room.
Remembering the events of the afternoon, Ashley felt a headache coming on.
She had been drugged by Megan.
When John came looking for her, Ashley used her remaining rationality to send him a message, preventing a confrontation between him and Brian.
She also overheard Megan mentioning that she was friends with Olivia, leaving her indebted to Spencer.
Although she avoided the disgusting aftermath of being drugged, the current situation wasn’t much better.
Brian entered, “Huh, awake?”
“Yes,” Ashley shrank under the covers, “...Thank you, Mr.”
Brian walked to the bed, looking at her with interest, “Well, you should thank me.”
Ashley looked up, seeing the bite mark she had left on his lip and the deep teeth marks on his collarbone, her face flushed.
She had been controlled by the drug, acting fiercely, and at that time, she only had one thought: let him squeeze her ass, harshly...
Brian reached out, his thumb brushing her blushing cheek, “Not bad, it’s quite memorable.”
After leaving the hotel, the two went their separate ways.
Brian drove off in a Porsche, while Ashley waited for the bus.
Exhausted and hungry from the afternoon’s exertion, Ashley saw someone selling plum blossom cakes nearby.
She bought a bag and slowly ate them with juice.
John called. “Are you okay?”
Ashley swallowed, “I’m fine. Did I scare you?”
John, relieved to hear her normal voice, sighed, “I thought...”
Ashley knew John was sharp and likely sensed something was off. But she didn’t want to escalate the situation.
Not only did she not want to make an enemy of Olivia, but even if there was something, it was a matter between two women, not involving John.
She lied, “I went to the bathroom this afternoon and got a call from the butler, which scared me. So I didn’t have time to explain to you and went straight to the hospital.”
“How is it now? Is your mom okay?”
“She’s fine, just tired and has a slight fever.”
John sounded concerned, “Should she get a thorough checkup? You both have only half a liver each.”
Ashley couldn’t help but laugh, “Don’t worry, it’s nothing serious.”
They chatted a bit more, inevitably touching on Megan.
Ashley hinted, “This girl seems to have a powerful background. You better not get too involved with her. Otherwise...”
“Don’t worry, I know.”
After hanging up, Ashley boarded the bus.
The ride home was bumpy. As soon as she entered, she saw the maids gathered at the door, peeking inside.
Ashley hurried over, “What’s going on?”
The cleaning maid shushed her, pointing inside.
There was a good show to watch.
Ashley held her breath unconsciously. Inside, Mrs Quinn’s voice could be heard.
