“Oh my—” The crowd collectively gasped at Spencer’s words.
Wasn’t Spencer supposed to be Brian’s mistress?
How did it suddenly turn into Olivia being unfaithful?
The onlookers exchanged bewildered glances.
They all thought that Brian was the one who betray their love, but now...
The crowd looked over at Brian, who stood there expressionless.
David’s face darkened. “What?”
Olivia was equally stunned by Spencer’s claims.
It took her a moment to recover, “Spencer, you little bitch! How dare you slander me!”
Spencer touched her lower abdomen, her gaze filled with pain and longing. “How could you say that after forcing me to abandon my baby?
“Olivia, to steal my boyfriend, you drugged my drink and caused me to miscarry! I’m here today to seek justice for my dead child, even if it costs me everything, I don’t care!”
Her eyes were bloodshot, and she delivered her lines with deep conviction.
“Olivia, I can give up everything, even that bastard, but my unborn child was innocent! How could you!”
Olivia was completely confused.
She stared blankly at Spencer. “W-What nonsense are you talking about? What does your man have to do with me?”
Panicking, she glanced at Brian, but he ignored her.
Desperate, she turned to David for help. “Uncle, she’s lying! I didn’t do anything!”
David glared at her in frustration.
What a girl.
And she thought she could marry into the Quinn Family with this level of skill?
To protect the family’s reputation, David suppressed his anger and stepped forward.
“Miss Reed, if you have grievances, you can discuss them with me. All this because we canceled one of your endorsements? There’s no need to slander Olivia.
“I’ve watched Olivia grow up—she’s kind and well-behaved, incapable of such shameless behavior. Spreading falsehoods has consequences.”
David’s confident tone and staunch defense began to ease the tension, and the guests started to remember that Olivia was only a twenty-year-old girl.
With someone like Brian as her boyfriend, how could she possibly be unfaithful?
The guests shifted their focus from Olivia back to Spencer.
So, this little actress was trying to get revenge for losing an endorsement, and she chose to ruin a joyous occasion for the Quinn Family?
Spencer frowned slightly.
David was indeed a shrewd leader; with just a few words, he had turned the situation around.
Instinctively, Spencer wanted to glance at Brian, but she held back.
Remembering Brian’s instructions, she bit her lip and looked directly at Olivia.
David was sharp, but Olivia...
Spencer took a couple of steps toward Olivia.
“Olivia, I am not slandering you. Why don’t you explain who the father of your child is? Who did you sleep with this month!”
Spencer pressed on, her tone aggressive.
Olivia, not even processing what Spencer was saying, shoved her away.
“What are you talking about! How dare you—”
“Ah!” Spencer, a veteran in the industry, knew exactly how to play the victim.
She let herself be pushed, falling to the ground with a thud.
Her voluminous skirt spread out like a splash of water, vivid and scattered.
She turned pale from the pain, her eyes brimming with tears, looking up pitifully.
Next to the arrogant Olivia, Spencer’s frailty easily won the sympathy of the men around.
Feeling the accusatory stares, Olivia’s anger only intensified.
“Don’t listen to her! I only returned from abroad a month ago. Since then, I’ve only been with Brian!
“Yes, I’m pregnant, but the child is Brian’s! It has nothing to do with your damned boyfriend!”
Daniel had appeared out of nowhere again.
“Miss Reed, you keep accusing Miss. James of cheating. Do you have any evidence?
“Surely you can’t expect everyone to believe you without proof.”
“Right, exactly, you can’t just take this actress’s word for it.”
“Aren’t we just being fooled?”
“Yeah, this doesn’t make sense. Could she be messing with us?”
Olivia’s expression relaxed a bit. “Spencer, we’ve only met a few times. Why are you trying to ruin me? You’d better have evidence to back up your claims, or else you’ll be facing my revenge!”
Spencer wiped away her tears and looked up at Olivia.
David had been observing her closely, and when he saw a glint of resolve in her eyes, he instinctively felt something was wrong.
Seeing that Spencer was about to speak, David quickly stepped forward. “Wait, you—”
“Miss. James, what were you doing last Tuesday?” Spencer cut him off, looking straight at Olivia.
Olivia trembled with anger. “Of course, I was with Brian! Yes, I went to a hotel, but the person I was with was—”
“My boyfriend!” Spencer interrupted, her voice rising.
“That afternoon, you got drunk and stumbled into the room I had booked! You two...
“Later, it was Mr. Quinn who noticed you were missing and came to our room to carry you out!”
Spencer closed her eyes, as if pained by the memory.
“I’ve heard that you’re now pregnant and trying to use the child to force the Quinn Family into marriage!”
Olivia’s face turned ashen.
She turned to Brian. “Brian, she’s lying, right? How could I be with someone else!”
In her efforts to get pregnant, Olivia had been all over Brian, insisting they spend time together at hot springs, hotels, even outdoors and in cars.
There had been so many encounters that Olivia couldn’t remember the exact times or places.
The only thing she could remember was that every time she woke up, Brian was already fully dressed.
Brian looked at her with a blank expression before turning to Spencer. “How do you know?”
Olivia’s mind went blank.
Was he... admitting it?
