Chapter 204: The Desperate Daughter

Shu Qing stared blankly at the big face that came closer to her. She felt dizzy for a moment, but her brain wasn't damaged.

How is this possible?

How could she become Chao Song's sister in the blink of an eye?

Looking at Chao Song's sickly face, she thought of her father who had jumped off the building. She struggled to sit up and asked Chao Song only one question, “My father jumped off the building. Did it have anything to do with you?"

"No, absolutely not." Chao Song said, "You can check this out. It has nothing to do with me."

As the underground king, Chao Song has status and position, and he doesn't bother to lie to her.

She believed it, but her face turned terribly pale. She said, "I want to see my father for the last time."

"Okay, then go. I'll go with you." Chao Song said, and walked forward to help Shu Qing out with all his heart. He looked like he really treated her as his own sister.

Bo Jingxing seemed to have been forgotten.

He stood in the ward like a clown.

Since Shu Qing woke up, it was as if she had not seen him. He was no longer in her eyes.

In the morgue, Shu Qing saw Shu Qinglin who had jumped to his death.

The belongings taken from Shu Qinglin were placed in a box. The funeral director who was applying makeup to the deceased said, "This is all he left behind."

Shu Qing looked over and saw a letter and an inconspicuous pendant in the box.

The pendant doesn't look worth much, nor is it a valuable item. It should be made of plastic, but it looks a bit dull due to its age.

Shu Qing wiped her tears, opened her tear-swollen eyes, unfolded the letter and read it slowly.

The paper explained the causes and consequences of the jumping incident.

Shu Qinglin couldn't live anymore. He didn't want to be a burden to his daughter, but he couldn't give up his gambling addiction. After his wife died, he couldn't sleep every night, thinking madly about the woman beside him.

He finally made the decision.

He was very sorry that he did not give his daughter enough care at the end of his life and that he had dragged her down for so long.

The home is gone, the house is gone.

He didn't want to gamble anymore. If he continued, he would no longer be a human being.

At the end of the letter, it was explained, “You are not our daughter, but for the past twenty years, I have raised you as my own daughter. Qingqing, don't blame Dad. Dad is sad, Dad is confused, Dad is gone like this, and I don't blame anyone."

This is the end of my writing.

Shu Qinglin jumped off the stone to settle all the grudges in his life. Shu Qing buried his ashes together with his mother's in silence.

"Sister, now that things are done here, come back with me. Mom is waiting for you at home." Chao Song said quickly. Shu Qing sat in front of the tombstone without moving.

She is now a real orphan.

Both of her adoptive parents have passed away, and she has no relatives left in this world.

"Sister, sister?"

Chao Song reached out and pushed her. Shu Qing suddenly woke up and shook her head, saying, "No, I'm not your sister."

Chao Song didn't want to give up, “You don't have parents anymore, and I just happen to be missing a sister, isn't this just perfect?"

In his eyes, this is okay.

It can be done.

Why can't we have the best of both worlds?

"She is Shu Qing, an independent individual. Are you insulting her or yourself by asking her to be a substitute?"

Bo Jing walked over, bent down, pulled Shu Qing up, and held her in his arms.

The man had a refreshing minty scent, which was very different from the smell of disinfectant he usually had on him.

But for some reason, Shu Qing couldn't clear his dizzy mind.

She looked at Bo Jingxing and said slowly, “That letter is not in my father's handwriting."
