Chapter 74. She is a joke

Huo Yuanchen felt that Wen Li's words were too sarcastic. He was too lazy to argue with her, but just "kindly" reminded her, "If you want to go to Country L with me smoothly, don't talk nonsense at the family dinner today.

Wen Li heard the threat in his words and smiled faintly, "Thank you Professor Huo for reminding me. I know my own limitations and will not interfere in other people's family affairs."

She stood up first and said, "I'll go see how Aunt Qi is doing."

Huo Yuanchen wanted to say something, but she had already walked away in her high heels.

In the kitchen, Michelle Yim was already directing the servants to bring the dishes to the restaurant. When Wen Li passed by, he saw that most of the dishes were very expensive seafood.

She asked Michelle Yim, "I remember Aunt Qi, you are allergic to seafood."

Michelle Yim smiled nonchalantly, "Yuanchen and his father like it."

Wen Li didn't take it to heart. But when she saw Huo Mingqi putting several pieces of fish into Lili's bowl and asking her to "eat more" during the meal, she couldn't help but look at him twice.

Huo Yuanchen noticed it and kicked her under the table, telling her not to meddle in other people's business.

Wen Li raised his lips into a sarcastic smile, lowered his eyes, and ate the rice in his bowl.

An Wen sat next to Huo Yuanchen. She was short, and the Huo family's dining table was too big for her, so she leaned close to Huo Yuanchen's ear and said coquettishly, "Brother Yuanchen, I want to eat that shrimp."

Huo Yuanchen picked up some shrimp for her, but did not put it in her bowl. Instead, he put on disposable gloves and carefully peeled the shrimp shells before giving them to An Wen.

Ask her, "Do you want more?"

An Wen nodded with a red face, and then said a little embarrassedly, "Did I eat too much?"

Huo Yuanchen smiled and comforted her, "Eat your food with peace of mind."

When he said this, Wen Li was sitting opposite him, watching the scene with interest, with a faint smile on his lips.

Huo Yuanchen raised his eyebrows at her and asked her to eat more and talk less.

She grinned at him, indicating that she understood, but turned to ask Michelle Yim, "Auntie Qi, I remember that the little cakes you baked before were delicious. Can you teach me?"

Michelle Yim nodded, then quickly hesitated and said, "Yuanchen's father has high blood sugar and can't eat sweets. I haven't baked a cake in many years, and I'm afraid it won't taste as good as before."

Wen Li smiled and said, "It's okay. Whether a cake is delicious or not mainly depends on the ratio of various ingredients and the cooking steps. I just want your exclusive recipe."

Michelle Yim thought for a moment and said, "Then I'll recall it and write it down and send it to you."

"Thank you, Aunt Qi."

When Wen Li spoke, Lili, who was eating fish quietly, suddenly looked at her and asked Huo Mingqi elegantly, "Brother Mingqi, who is this? Why haven't I seen him before?"

After he finished speaking, there was silence at the table, and Huo Mingqi looked at Wen Li with an oppressive gaze.

Wen Li let them watch him and looked at Huo Yuanchen with a smile.

Would the man who had said that he wanted her to be his girlfriend acknowledge her in front of his family? In other words, she was curious about how much position she, the nominal girlfriend, occupied in his heart.

Huo Yuanchen was still peeling shrimps for An Wen. Not only shrimps, but also a crab. The crab meat was snow-white and was picked out bit by bit by his white fingertips. It was piled on a white porcelain plate and topped with ginger vinegar sauce.

Wen Li thought that Huo Yuanchen and Huo Mingqi were indeed father and son. To the women he cared about, he acted like a good man, but to the people he didn't like, he just ignored them and felt that the other person even hindered his breathing.

Very double standard.

When Huo Mingqi asked Wen Li, he had a little smile on his face, but not much, and the smile did not reach his eyes, more like he was pretending to be someone else. He said , "Wen Li, what's the matter with you coming here today?"

This clearly shows that they are not familiar with each other.

Wen Li smiled at Li Li hypocritically, "Aunt Qi invited me to come and play."

She emphasized the word "invite" in an attempt to emphasize Michelle Yim's status as the hostess.

As expected, Huo Mingqi frowned unhappily.

Lili smiled and said, "Sister Meizhen is still like this, always bringing people back to keep her company. In fact, if she could have something to do, she wouldn't be so bored all day."

Huo Yuanchen raised his eyebrows but said nothing.

Wen Li sneered inwardly, and asked Li Li with an open-minded attitude, "Your career should be going well, right?"

Lili didn't say anything, and seemed a little disdainful to talk to Wen Li in detail.

An Wen, on the other hand, spoke with admiration, "Auntie Li is the general manager of the overseas branch of the Huo Group. She's very powerful."

Wen Li was also a little excited. "I heard that those who can become senior executives in Huo's are all returned overseas PhD holders. I am not good at studying, so I especially admire those who are good at studying. May I ask, auntie, which university did you study abroad? What major did you study?"

Lili looked embarrassed for a moment, and said vaguely, "It's been too long, I can't remember it."

Wen Li's face was full of regret, and he said "Oh" with a long tail tone.

Lili's face became even uglier, and Huo Mingqi was almost unable to suppress his anger.

Only Michelle Yim couldn't help but curl her lips, but she was afraid that she would reveal too much, so she called everyone, "Let's eat, let's eat."

While picking up food for Wen Li, she leaned over to whisper in his ear, "You really hit Zhang Li's sore spot. Others may not know, but how could I not know? She is just a junior college student, how can she be a returnee and a PhD student? Ugh."

She liked Wen Li so much that she felt he was closer to her than her own son. It was worth it that she had fed Wen Li so many small cakes.

Wen Li was secretly pleased. She guessed that Zhang Li's own conditions were not that good, otherwise the old man of the Huo family would not have disagreed with Huo Mingqi and Zhang Li being together.

Huo Mingqi was also quite cowardly. He was reluctant to give up the Huo family's favorable conditions and did not dare to oppose Mr. Huo's decision. He married a woman he did not like, but he could not let go of Zhang Li. He had to wait until Mr. Huo passed away before he dared to bring Zhang Li to his side to annoy his wife.

She looked down on Huo Mingqi, and also disliked Huo Yuanchen, thinking that the father and son were both cowards.

If Huo Yuanchen had just stood up and said, "Wen Li is my girlfriend, and we are dating."

Then does she need to say so much to offend people?

But he didn't. He was afraid that his good sister was not full, so he was busy peeling shrimps and crabs for her and didn't care about the embarrassment his "girlfriend" was going through.

If she told others about her boyfriend who had such high aspirations, she would be laughed at.

Wen Li hurriedly said goodbye after finishing the meal.

Huo Yuanchen followed her out and offered to say, "It's hard to get a taxi here. I'll take you there."

Wen Li paused and looked at him with a cold smile.

Huo Yuanchen was frightened by her laughter, frowned, and asked her, "What's wrong with you?"

Wen Li grinned and said to him, "Oh, you can talk. I thought the shrimp shells you bought were poisonous and made you mute."

Huo Yuanchen couldn't stand her sarcastic words and said to her, "Can you please speak properly? I told you not to mess with Aunt Li..."

Wen Li interrupted him, "I've already offended you. At worst, I won't come to your house anymore. I'm just an ordinary person, and I don't work for your Huo's company. There's no need to make things difficult for me."

Huo Yuanchen wanted to say that it was not that simple, but before he could open his mouth, An Wen chased out.

She held a book in her hand, with an anxious look on her face. She started crying as soon as she saw Huo Yuanchen, "Brother Yuanchen, I put the magnolia flower you gave me in the book, but the flower has changed color. What should I do?"

Hearing this, Wen Li sneered, and his gaze towards Huo Yuanchen became even colder.
