Chapter 139. He only left his back to her

Wen Li stood for ten hours taking photos at school. She was so tired that her legs almost broke. She couldn't drive, so she sat in the parking lot to rest.

When Huo Yuanchen came to pick up the car, he saw her sitting on the bench rubbing her legs.

He walked over, sat down next to her, naturally lifted her legs, placed them on his thighs, and gently massaged her.

Wen Li pushed him and said, "Aren't you afraid of being seen by others if you are so close to me?"

He said nonchalantly, "There aren't many people here at this hour."

Because he was not afraid of being seen by acquaintances, he was willing to be intimate with her. Wen Li said "hmm" and ignored him.

She would be more than happy to have someone willing to serve her.

After rubbing for a while, Huo Yuanchen pinched her calf and said lightly, "Thank you for buying me the shirt."

He was wearing the shirt she bought for him, which was much cheaper than his original one. He only wore it temporarily for a meeting and had no intention of wearing it a second time.

However, it is still polite to express gratitude when it is due.

Wen Li said, "You're welcome. I just don't want others to misunderstand that it was me who kissed it."

Huo Yuanchen asked her, "You came to give me a shirt, why didn't you come in? You just put the things outside the door and left without saying a word?"

Wen Li turned his head, looked into the distance, and said without any emotion, "Why should I go in? To see you and your good sister discussing the photo of you and your white moonlight? I'm not that boring."

Huo Yuanchen didn't think there was anything wrong with him and An Ran taking a photo together. It was rare for him to see An Ran, and the two of them must have done something together. Taking a photo together was such a normal thing, but Wen Li was too petty to mind it.

He was willing to coax her, but he didn't have the energy or patience to do so all the time.

It was indeed wrong for him to threaten her with Wen Yongjie, so he felt guilty towards her. But she kept pushing him further, and if she continued to do so, his guilt towards her would be exhausted.

Huo Yuanchen took Wen Li's legs down. He looked at her for a while, then stood up and said lightly, "I'm leaving first."

After saying that, he drove his own car without looking back.

Wen Li watched his back gradually go away. The light dimmed and she could not see clearly. At one moment she thought he was the successful Professor Huo, and at another she thought he seemed to have not changed much, still the Senior Huo in her memory.

No matter who it was, all that was left to her was a blurry back.

Graduation season was really busy. Wen Li was busy, and Huo Yuanchen was busy too. After that day, the two of them were so busy that they didn't contact each other for almost half a month.

It was not until the end of June that Wen Li's graduation season photography work was finally completed. Haishi University paid her the final payment, and her long-poor financial situation finally improved.

As soon as she got the money, she called Zhou Ying and said, "Are you free? I'll treat you to a nice meal when I have the money."

Zhou Ying introduced this order to her, so it was only right for her to treat him to a meal. The two of them met at a crayfish restaurant where the average cost per person was about 100 yuan.

Wen Li felt that Zhou Ying was so thoughtful. She treated him and wanted to save money for him, so she refused to choose an expensive place. She felt bad about it, so she took advantage of the free time before the meeting to go to a nearby shopping mall and picked out a bag worth about 20,000 yuan, intending to give it to Zhou Ying.

She felt that her best friend was good in every way except that she was too frugal. After all, she was a returned professor with an income of nearly 20,000 yuan a month, but she always carried an Oxford bag worth dozens of dollars to work every day.

My best friend needs a bag that can show off. Since she can’t afford to buy it herself, she will buy it for her.

When Wen Li came out of the mall, she received a call from Cheng Yang, who asked her if she was free recently and wanted to sign a big contract with her. After the cooperation was completed, she would receive a reward of about 500,000 or 600,000 yuan.

Wen Li agreed without thinking. She had been quite idle recently and was worried about how to make money.

Cheng Yang said, "Sister, don't rush to agree. This matter is a bit complicated, and it's hard to explain it over the phone. If you're not busy, I'll come to see you. It's almost time for dinner, so we can talk while we eat."

Wen Li hesitated and said, "But I have a meeting with a friend today."

Cheng Yang was a little disappointed. "Well, is it okay tonight?"

Wen Li could tell that he was in a hurry and couldn't wait for a day, as if he had to finalize it today. She really wanted to take the order, so she said, "Wait a minute, I'll ask my friend if he minds adding one more person."

Cheng Yang became happy and said, "Then I will wait for news from my sister."

Zhou Ying didn't mind. Her original words were, "Just add more. It's not my treat anyway. You can bring as many people as you want."

Wen Li sent the address of the crayfish restaurant to Cheng Yang.

Cheng Yang was a very outgoing person. When he first met Zhou Ying, he politely called out, "Hello, sister."

Zhou Ying looked at him and thought he looked familiar. "I think I've seen you somewhere before?"

Cheng Yang smiled and said, "That's great. It means Sister Wen Li took such a good picture of me that people will remember me as soon as they see my photo."

When they sat down, Wen Li whispered to Zhou Ying about Cheng Yang's work, which earned him a meaningful look from her. It was hard to describe in words.

She couldn't bear it and whispered, "Just say whatever you want to say."

Zhou Ying said sourly, "The market for beautiful women is good. They only meet handsome guys. I am so lucky to be friends with you."

Wen Li glared at her, "Take your eyes away, I still need to discuss business later."

Zhou Ying said, "I think your business will be successful."

While the two of them were whispering, Cheng Yang had already put on gloves and peeled two plates of crayfish for them.

Zhou Ying smiled and said, "You are such a nice customer. He took the initiative to give you the business and even peeled shrimp for you. I see the way he looks at you. He seems to be quite interested in you. Do you want to consider it?"

Wen Li hit her lightly, "Don't make fun of customers."

Zhou Ying said, "I think he is better than Professor Huo. He is not bad in appearance, and physically..."

She lowered her voice and said, "Professor Huo is almost 30, right? Your client looks to be in her early twenties at most. As an artist, she must have a good figure. Tsk tsk, in this comparison, Professor Huo is completely defeated."

Wen Li felt that her words were becoming more and more irresponsible, so he ignored her and went to discuss business with Cheng Yang.

What Cheng Yang called complexity was actually nothing in Wen Li's opinion.

After the last variety show in which Cheng Yang was a guest was broadcast, the response was quite good. So the agency struck while the iron was hot and got him another music variety show, which would last for three months and be recorded in a closed environment on an island.

Just like last time, the company plans to hire a dedicated photographer to shoot behind-the-scenes footage for Cheng Yang, and stay on the island with Cheng Yang for three months.

Wen Li said, "No problem. I have the time."

Cheng Yang was very happy and immediately notified his agent to prepare for the signing.

When he left, he added Zhou Ying as a friend and said, "Sister, do you have a favorite artist? I can help you get an autographed photo."

Zhou Ying quickly agreed, smiling like a flower.

After dinner, Wen Li called her parents first and said that she would be away for three months. The signal on the island was poor and if they couldn’t contact her, they could ask Zhou Ying for help if there was an emergency.

Wen Yongjie said, "Your mother and I certainly support you going to work. But what about Yuanchen? Three months is too long. It's not easy to contact you when you've been away for so long. You have to explain everything to Yuanchen and don't let him get mad at you because of this."

Wen Li didn't think Huo Yuanchen would object, and even if he did, he couldn't stop her.

However, in order to comfort Wen Yongjie, she still said, "I will explain to Huo Yuanchen."

She called Huo Yuanchen, but he didn't answer.

Zhou Ying said, "He must be attending the Life College graduation ceremony today. There are so many people in the auditorium, it's normal that he can't hear the bell. I have to go back to school, so why don't you come with me to find him at school."

Wen Li agreed.

However, she didn't find Huo Yuanchen at school either.

Yu Jingchen told her, "An Wen graduated today, and Professor Huo prepared a graduation party for her. As soon as the ceremony ended, the two of them went out together."

He paused, glanced at Wen Li, and said with a strange look, "An Wen is wearing something different today than usual. It's quite...sexy."
