Chapter 174. Do you really hate me that much?

Wen Li didn't care who the woman Meng Jinnian was supporting was. She was just worried that Meng Jinnian would see her and come to bother her again, so she deliberately turned the steering wheel in the opposite direction and drove a long way before returning home.

When she got home, she saw a message from Huo Yuanchen on her phone.

I didn't say anything else, just said, "Thank you for taking Li Hong to take the photo. She and her mother were so happy today that they forgot to thank you, so they asked me to thank you on their behalf."

Wen Li hesitated for a moment, thinking that since it was Li Hong who was thanking her, she should at least say "you're welcome".

So I replied.

After a while, Huo Yuanchen asked her again, "I heard that you praised me today? What did you praise me for?"

Wen Li rolled her eyes at the phone and replied, "It's just a polite remark, Professor Huo, don't take it seriously."

Huo Yuanchen saw her reply, raised his eyebrows and smiled. As long as she didn't ignore the message he sent, it would be fine.

The fact that she was willing to reply to him, even if it was with anger, showed that she still had him in her heart.

He was in a good mood today, and after work he went to Michelle Yim's cake shop to pick her up and take her home.

The cake shop was still not popular, and it was almost closing time, but there were still a lot of cakes left. When Huo Yuanchen arrived, Michelle Yim was putting the remaining cakes into bags.

Huo Yuanchen asked her, "Are you going to save this for tomorrow?"

Michelle Yim said, "I saved this for Wen Li. Her job doesn't have fixed working hours, and she doesn't have time to eat when she's busy. I baked a little more and asked her to come and get it. These cakes are enough for her to eat for two or three days as breakfast."

Huo Yuanchen looked into the bag and deliberately joked, "How can you do business like this? You sell half of the goods and give them away half of the goods. Sooner or later, you will lose money and close down."

Maggie Cheung patted him on the back and said, "Shut up your crow mouth. Can't you expect something good from me?"

Huo Yuanchen shrugged and said, "I'm just telling the truth. Since you want to do business, you should anticipate possible risks in advance and prepare for a rainy day."

Michelle Yim glared at him and asked, "Why do you have time to come to my store today? Are you not busy with work?"

After that, he said "Huh" again and continued, "Why do I feel that you seem to be in a good mood these days since you went abroad to listen to a concert? Did anything good happen during those two days abroad?"

Huo Yuanchen did not intend to hide it from Michelle Chik. He said, "I went to the concert abroad for Wen Li. I plan to win her back. You shouldn't object, right? Don't you like her very much?"

Michelle Yim nodded, then shook her head and said, "It's true that I like Wen Li, but I'd like Wen Li to meet a man who treats her well. As your mother, I couldn't stand the way you treated her before. Besides, the boyfriend Wen Li is dating now is pretty good, so why don't you stop pursuing her."

Huo Yuanchen's face suddenly turned ugly. After a while, he squeezed out a sentence, "Wen Li and Cheng Yang won't last long. They are not suitable."

Michelle Yim wants to say, Wen Li and Cheng Yang are not suitable, but does that mean she and you are suitable?

But she is Huo Yuanchen's biological mother after all, and she can't bear to say such words that hurt his face. But she can't help but wonder, Huo Yuanchen said that he wanted to pursue Wen Li again. Did he finally discover the good of Wen Li after the breakup, or did he just want to have a woman by his side?

After thinking about it, I feel that he is still unwilling to accept it. After all, he has been excellent since he was a child, and he is used to looking down on others. In his whole life, he has only been dumped by Wen Li once. He can't get over it, and he wants to make up for it. This is the most reasonable reason.

Thinking of this, Michelle Yim reminded him, "Wen Li is a very opinionated person, she won't agree to get back together with you."

Huo Yuanchen didn't say anything. After a while, he said something ambiguous, "She will agree."

After a while, Wen Li came to the store. When she saw Huo Yuanchen, she was obviously stunned, and she hesitated whether to take back the foot she had already stepped forward.

Seeing her like this, Huo Yuanchen couldn't help but sneer, "I got off work early and came to pick up my mom. I didn't know you were coming."

Wen Li walked into the store awkwardly, without even looking at him, and smiled at Qi Meizhen, "Aunt Qi, I brought you a gift."

Maggie Cheung said hurriedly, "No, no, it's not easy for you to earn money, why do you always think about me? I know your intentions, so you don't need a gift, just take it back and give it to your mother."

Wen Li took the gift out of the bag, waved it in front of Michelle Yim, and said with a smile, "I will definitely give one to my mother, but I have to wait until your book is officially published, and you have to sign your name for me before I can give it to my mother."

Michelle Yim looked at the baking book in front of her in disbelief. She didn't even dare to reach out to touch it, for fear of damaging the book. "So fast? It's done so quickly?"

Wen Li nodded. "This is just a sample book. I'll show it to you. If there's anything wrong, just tell me. Once you have no objection, I'll have my friend notify the printing factory and we can start printing."

Maggie Cheung took out a wet towel and wiped her hands clean before carefully turning the pages of the book. On the title page, there was a photo of her holding a baking tray with a smile on her face, and next to it there was a preface written for her. She identified the signature and realized that the person who wrote the preface was a famous food critic.

She looked at Wen Li with surprise and joy, "It must be difficult for you to ask him to write a preface for me, right?"

Wen Li assured her, saying, "I had taken photos of this gentleman before and published them in a magazine, and I happened to have his contact information. I didn't do anything, I just brought the cake you made to him to taste. What he wrote in the preface were his thoughts after tasting it, and it was just based on facts."

Michelle Yim was so moved that tears came to her eyes and she couldn't stop them. She even felt embarrassed.

"I am still crying at my age. I am making fun of you."

When Wen Li left, Huo Yuanchen saw her off and said, "Thank you."

Wen Li tilted his head and asked him, "What is it?"

Huo Yuanchen said, "All of them. Thank you for teaching Li Hong photography, thank you for helping my mother publish a book, and thank you for suggesting that she open a cake shop. Since the shop opened, her mood has obviously improved a lot, and the atmosphere in my home is also better than ever before."

Wen Li said, "Then you should thank me. But I don't intend to let you thank me, otherwise it will become confusing if we keep thanking each other."

Huo Yuanchen asked her helplessly, "Do you really hate me that much?"

Wen Li nodded seriously, "Indeed, a little bit."

Huo Yuanchen smiled and said nothing more.

That very evening, Wen Li received a photo from him.

In the photo, Cheng Yang was sitting with a group of men and women, and they seemed to be very close to each other. There were many wine glasses in front of him, and he looked obviously drunk, and his smile was even more ruffian.

It was different from the impression Wen Li had of him.
