Chapter 108 Extra

The day after Jiang Sui and Si Nian returned to China, they both took half a day off from work to get their marriage certificate.

On the way to the marriage registration office, Jiang Sui's cell phone rang again at an inopportune time.

Jiang Sui took out his cell phone, but before he could see who was calling, Si Nian, who was parked nearby waiting for a red light, snatched the phone away from him.

"Hey, brother, what are you doing?" Jiang Sui was a little anxious when he saw that the phone was still ringing in Si Nian's hand.

Si Nian ignored Jiang Sui's questioning, hung up the phone slowly, turned it off and put it in the handbox.

The green light came on and Si Nian slowly restarted the car.

Seeing Si Nian's series of actions, Jiang Sui was a little dumbfounded.

"Brother, why did you just hang up on me? And take my phone?"

Si Nian drove while looking straight ahead, a beautiful curve appeared at the corners of his lips, and dimples on both sides of his cheeks also slightly appeared.

"Sui Sui, you have a criminal record with me, have you forgotten? Last time we said we were going to get the marriage certificate, but you received a phone call and we postponed it for half a year. This time, even if the sky falls, we have to wait until we get the marriage certificate."

Jiang Sui found it a little funny, yet a little guilty towards Si Nian. He didn't expect that this would leave a shadow on him.

She gently placed her left hand on Si Nian's hand on the handbox and comforted him in a gentle voice, "I'm sorry, brother, I made you wait for so long again, but this time I promise that I will never postpone it again, and I will never make you wait again."

Si Nian turned his head and looked at Jiang Sui, his eyebrows curved with a smile.

"Well, I believe you. You can't run away this time anyway." As he said that, he pressed the door lock button on the driver's side.

Jiang Sui, "..."

However, Jiang Sui did not expect that the process of getting their marriage certificate would be so surprisingly smooth.

They were the first couple to get their marriage certificate that day. All the documents had been prepared the night before and checked countless times, so after they signed, the marriage certificate was quickly produced.

When issuing the certificates, the staff invited both of them to the podium to take an oath first.

Jiang Sui and Si Nian each held a small red book, and stood on the certificate presentation platform to begin reciting the sacred and solemn oath.

While reading the oath, Jiang Sui would occasionally turn his head to look at the prompts on the side, while Si Nian looked at Jiang Sui with expression in his eyes the whole time and recited the oath fluently, as if the oath had been engraved in his heart long ago.

"We voluntarily marry each other. From today on, we will jointly shoulder the responsibilities and obligations that marriage bestows upon us: to be filial to our parents, to educate our children, to respect and love each other, to trust and encourage each other, to understand and accommodate each other, to support each other through thick and thin, and to love each other for a lifetime! From now on, no matter whether we are in good times or bad, whether we are rich or poor, whether we are healthy or sick, whether we are young or old, we will stand together through thick and thin, share weal and woe, and become lifelong partners! We must uphold the oath we made today, and we will definitely be able to uphold the oath we made today!"

"Swearing person: Si Nian."

"Person taking the oath: Jiang Sui."

After reading the oath, both of them had tears in their eyes and smiled at each other.

Si Nian's voice suddenly choked with sobs and he smiled at Jiang Sui and said, "Mrs. Si, from today on, please give me your guidance."

Jiang Sui smiled, "Mr. Si, please give me your guidance for the rest of my life."

Jiang Sui and Si Nian’s wedding was held in northern Beijing in May of the following year. It was not grand, but very warm.

The guests invited were only their relatives, friends and colleagues.

A quick clip before the wedding recorded the stories of the two of them from childhood to adulthood, and every period of their acquaintance and love, which made all the guests present cry.

There was no emcee at the wedding; the couple hosted it themselves, so the process was very simple.

Old Jiang personally handed Jiang Sui to Si Nian and gave him gentle instructions.

Then they exchanged wedding rings and kissed each other.

After marriage, Si Nian completed his six-month internship at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and entered a two-year probation period. At the end of the year, he was sent to the relatively backward country J.

However, although Country J is a little backward, it is relatively safe.

As a staff member and also as a family member, Jiang Sui applied to the ministry for permission to accompany the delegation and was approved.

In fact, Jiang Sui didn’t know how Si Nian became his colleague. Anyway, after they came back from La Country, they went to and from get off work together.

However, I heard from my colleagues in the department that Si Nian graduated with a master's degree from the China Foreign Affairs University, passed multiple assessments, and entered the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as the first one.

In response to this, Jiang Sui suddenly remembered to ask Si Nian one day, "When did you finish college and when did you get your master's degree? How come I don't know anything about it?"

Si Nian only smiled and responded, "It's been a long time. You haven't come back to me at that time."

Jiang Sui was surprised, "But you were still sick at that time, you never know when..."

Jiang Sui didn't say anything else. Thinking about that time made him feel heartbroken.

Si Nian just raised the corners of his lips and gently embraced her, "You don't have to be so shy. At that time, due to health reasons, Si's company was handed over to Haozi to manage, and I had nothing to do. I thought it would be better to do something meaningful instead of waiting to die there. Thinking of you working hard for your dream abroad, I thought I should also try, what if there is a chance to realize it? So I came to Jingbei later. You met me at the gate of the college on the rainy day because I was preparing my master's thesis in the college."

Jiang Sui understood everything now, but she still blamed Si Nian a little unhappy, "Then you kept it a secret from me during the time we were together."

Si Nian put his face close to Jiang Sui and smiled softly, "Because I wanted to give you a surprise, I didn't expect you to leave me and run away first."

Jiang Sui also smiled when he heard this and hugged Si Nian tightly, "I won't do that again in the future. We will go together no matter where we go."

Before leaving, Jiang Sui and Si Nian went back to Jincheng to visit the graves of Jiang's mother and grandmother.

This time Jiang Sui didn't talk much to his mother and grandmother. He just asked each of them, "This is the son-in-law you chose. Are you satisfied?"

After listening to this, Si Nian clenched Jiang Sui's hand and unconsciously curved her lips, revealing charming dimples.

When the two were leaving hand in hand, Jiang Sui mentioned inadvertently that the cemetery next to his mother seemed to have been bought a long time ago, but had never been used and no one had ever been there.

Upon hearing this, Si Nian lowered his head and pursed his lips, not saying anything for a long time.

When they were almost at the foot of the mountain, Si Nian suddenly said in a low voice, "Maybe the tomb owner doesn't need it anymore."

During the two years of being sent abroad in J country, Jiang Sui and Si Nian worked and dated at the same time, and their life was fulfilling and sweet.

The night before they returned home after completing a round of overseas assignment, their colleagues at the embassy held a farewell party for them, and they all drank some wine at the party.

When they returned to their residence at night, both of them were in a very happy mood. They started kissing as soon as they entered the room and kissed all the way back to the bed.

When the emotions got intense, Si Nian reached out to pull the drawer of the bedside table, but was stopped by Jiang Sui.

With misty eyes, she looked at Si Nian with a slight drunkenness.

"Brother, let's have a little Si Nian after we return home, right?"

Si Nian was stunned by Jiang Sui's sudden proposal. He stopped and stared at Jiang Sui's face with dark eyes.

Jiang Sui took the opportunity to hook his hands around Si Nian's neck, and added with a smile, "Or little Jiang Sui would be fine too."

Hearing this, Si Nian's face broke into a huge smile, but he still asked Jiang Sui with some uncertainty, "Sui Sui, you are drunk today. If I listen to you and do what you say, and you wake up tomorrow and deny it and get angry with me, what should I do?"

Jiang Sui closed his eyes and thought for a while, "Well... then you can record it. I said it. Give birth to a little Si Nian or a little Jiang Sui. I won't deny it in front of the evidence."

"Also, I feel so happy and satisfied after being with my brother for the past two years. It's time to fulfill your wish. I know you have always wanted a little one of ours, but you kept it to yourself to take care of my feelings. Because of the misunderstanding last time, I saw the loss in your eyes. This time, I will not let you down again."

After saying that, Jiang Sui raised his head and kissed Si Nian directly on the lips.

Si Nian responded to her gently, and said vaguely, "Xiao Jiang Sui is better."

Less than half a month after Jiang Sui and Si Nian returned to China, one night Si Nian said he was going downstairs to pick up a package, but he came back with a bulging plastic bag.

When Jiang Sui took it and opened it, he was shocked to see that the bag was full of various pregnancy test strips.

So from that day on, Jiang Sui was forced by Si Nian to take a pregnancy test every morning and evening.

It wasn't until a week after testing that two pink lines finally appeared on the test paper.

Si Nian saw this and happily hugged Jiang Sui and spun around in the living room.

Jiang Sui's entire pregnancy went smoothly, without any major morning sickness. Si Nian took meticulous care of Jiang Sui both at home and at work, causing their colleagues to laugh at him for being a wife-slave.

Si Nian just smiled and said nothing about this.

What's wrong with being a wife slave?

He felt that as long as he could see his wife happy and healthy every day, he would be willing to be her slave for several lifetimes.

On October 1st, National Day of that year, Jiang Sui gave birth to a girl by caesarean section. The couple named their daughter Shi Yi, taking her mother's surname, and her nickname was Shiyi.

Jiang Shiyi, she came at the perfect time, most appropriate.

But why the surname Jiang?

Jiang Sui has never understood why Si Nian insisted on taking Shiyi's mother's surname.

It was not until the 11th birthday party that Jiang Guodong held the little guy and said, "My Jiang Baoer, if your father had not promised that you and your brothers and sisters would all have the surname Jiang after birth, I might not have agreed to marry your mother to him!"

At this point, Jiang Sui finally understood that in order to marry her, he was willing to give up the inheritance of his surname and become a real family with her.
