Eva tightly held onto her phone, her newly done nails getting broken as she did so.
"Emily!" she pronounced the name, her eyes filled with resentment.
Why would someone who was already dead still appear! and to make the situation worse James didn't even tell her when he called just now, she found out unintentionally through other means.
The more Eva thought about it, the more uneasy she felt. She took out her phone to book a flight ticket, but stopped at the last moment.
James was with her now, the woman by his side was her. So what if Emily was alive, James didn't love her, Eva was the ultimate winner here. Why rush?
Going to M country at this time might make James unhappy. Anyway, he would come back as soon as he finished his business.
As long as she held Sam firmly in her hands, Emily's return would not cause any big waves.
Realizing this, Eva became less anxious and didn't even regard Emily as a threat.
An appearance of someone who had already died would only arouse suspicion.
...
Emily woke up feeling hungry. She had a nightmare but couldn't quite remember it. She washed her face to calm down her trembling heart, then covered her grumbling stomach and opened the door, intending to find something to eat.
But as soon as she opened the door, she saw two bodyguards standing outside, blocking her way.
"What are you doing?" Emily's face darkened.
Was James imprisoning her?
"Sorry, the boss told us to keep an eye on you. We can't let you run away, otherwise we'll lose our jobs," the bodyguard said seriously, without any room for negotiation.
"I'm hungry. I want to go eat," Emily shouted.
"I'll have a waiter bring you food," he said.
Emily slammed the door shut, realizing that as a weak woman, she couldn't handle two muscular men. She could only go back to her room feeling angry. She saw the phone lying there and thought about calling Mary, but she worried about being monitored by James so she had to restrain herself.
She didn't even know if Mary had received the children. Unfortunately, her phone was left in the cabin.
They must be worried not being able to see her when they woke up, would they be afraid? Emily worried.
In the past five years, she had never been separated from her children for more than a day. Now that she was imprisoned by James, she wouldn't be able to see them for a short period of time.
No, she had to find a way to contact Mary.
A few minutes later, a waiter came in to deliver the meal. Emily glanced at the two bodyguards outside, lowered her voice and said a few words to the waiter, who initially hesitated but eventually handed her a phone.
Grateful, Emily clasped her hands together, then went into the bathroom and quickly dialed Mary's number.
"Hello, Mary, it's me."
Mary's worried voice came through the phone, "Emily, where are you? How are you?"
"I'm fine, Mary, listen to me."
"Okay, go ahead." Was Mary’s reply.
"James has me with him.”
"Next, he will take me back to the country. I can't avoid it this time, and I don't know when I can resolve my matters with him. I can't leave Ben and Isabella alone in M country. I can only trouble you to arrange for them to go back to the country. You just need to take them to the plane, and I have friends in the country to pick them up."
"Okay, no problem," Mary immediately agreed.
"Have they caused any trouble?" Emily quickly asked, her mouth feeling a bit dry and she was very worried about the two children.
"Isabella cried for a while because she couldn't find you, but she's asleep now. Ben is fine."
Upon hearing this, Emily's mind already painted a picture of Isabella crying inconsolably when she couldn't find her. Her heart ached.
"I'll talk to Ben."
Mary handed the phone to Ben.
"Mommy, where are you?" Ben's worried voice immediately came through.
Listening to her son's trembling voice full of worry, Emily felt like crying. She really felt sorry for her children. Not only did she not give them a complete family, but now she had to make them face all of this.
"Mommy has something to do in Z country. Mary will take you and Isabella to the airport tomorrow..." Emily quickly instructed Ben, and he listened attentively, obediently responding.
"Don't worry, Mommy. I will take good care of Isabella. See you in Z country."
"Thank you, my baby." Emily felt much better in her heart.
Her son was like her close-knit little coat, warm and caring.
Emily didn't dare to talk for too long and quickly hung up the phone, handing it back to the waiter.
The sky outside gradually darkened. This day had been nerve-wracking. She had caught up on sleep during the day, so now Emily couldn't fall asleep at night.
She opened the door and spoke to the two bodyguards at the door, "Ask James to come see me, otherwise I will cause a scene."
After saying that, she slammed the door shut, not caring if the two bodyguards heard her or not.
The two guards looked at each other for a moment before deciding to report to James.
"Let her cause a scene," James said elegantly as he flipped through some files, not putting Emily on his mind.
If she hadn't "died" back then, they would have had a peaceful separation, and the three children would have been fine. Sam wouldn't have ended up like that either.
Emily, she was going to bear the sins she had created.
The guards went back to continue guarding, and after half an hour without seeing James, Emily started causing a commotion.
She searched the room for a while, then with a loud crash, she smashed the TV. The guards outside heard the noise and quickly swiped their cards to enter.
Emily hid by the door, and as soon as they rushed in, she slipped out like an eel.
The guards reacted quickly as well.
"Stop!"
Emily ran outside, frantically pressing the elevator button. Seeing the guards catching up, and with the elevator still not arriving, she turned and ran towards the emergency stairs.
The two guards relentlessly chased after her. Emily ran downstairs, having incredibly bad luck. Suddenly, she stepped on air and fell over.
