Evelyn Moore had never been in such a ridiculous situation in her life. She was completely frozen, no clue how to react, and she didn’t even dare to look into Adrian Montgomery’s dark, intense eyes.
“You?” Adrian’s gaze swept across her delicate, pretty face, then dropped to her completely bare body. He froze for a second, as if the air around them had turned to ice.
His Adam’s apple bobbed, his eyes narrowed. He took a deep breath, clearly trying to rein in the urge to take things further.
“Uncle Adrian, I think I… I might’ve walked into the wrong room,” Evelyn said softly, watching his expression carefully, her voice cautious.
She’d always been a little intimidated by Adrian Montgomery.
He was the youngest son of the Montgomery family, just a couple of years older than her. Since he was born late in life to the Montgomery elders, they spoiled him rotten. He grew up wild and cold, the type of guy everyone—inside and outside the family—knew better than to mess with.
“Enough,” Adrian Montgomery snapped, his face dark. He looked away, clearly fighting to calm his desire, then got out of bed, his voice ice-cold, “Get out.”
The moment he stood up, Evelyn Moore’s eyes accidentally caught… well, something she shouldn’t have seen.
‘He was huge. And that body? Absolutely perfect.’
Her heart started pounding like crazy. She quickly looked away, face flushing red all the way to her ears.
“Are you leaving or not?” Adrian glanced at her again, suppressing the restlessness in his body.
Evelyn, not caring about her embarrassment, hurriedly picked up her clothes and hastily put them on before leaving without looking back.
She only had the courage to glance back at the room number after she had stepped out of the room.
She really had gone to the wrong room! Adrian must have mistaken her for someone else.
She had almost ended up sleeping with her husband’s uncle…
The thought made Evelyn’s headache even worse.
Inside the room, Adrian’s face was dark as he dialed a number.
“Delete all surveillance footage from tonight at the Imperial View Hotel!”
After giving the order, Adrian noticed the disheveled sheets and blankets, his anger and irritation evident in his eyes.
He had almost slept with his nephew’s wife. What the hell!
On her way back, Evelyn hesitated for a long time before finally sending a message to Adrian, whom she hadn’t contacted in over three years.
[Uncle… Can we just pretend that nothing happened tonight? I was really drunk and went into the wrong room.]
She waited a long time, but Adrian didn’t respond.
Frowning, Evelyn sent another message.

But as soon as she sent it, a red exclamation mark appeared.
“Your friend has enabled Friend Confirmation. Send a friend request to chat.”
Evelyn bit her lip. Adrian had deleted her, which probably meant he didn’t want to bring up the incident again.
Thinking this, Evelyn finally breathed a sigh of relief.
When she got home, it was already past six in the morning.
As soon as she opened the door, she saw Ethan sitting on the couch.
Ethan turned his head sharply at the sound of the door opening, his eyes bloodshot. It was clear that he hadn’t slept all night either.
“Where were you last night, honey? I called you dozens of times, why didn’t you pick up?”
Ethan got up and quickly walked towards her, reaching out to take her hand, but Evelyn avoided his touch.
He froze, about to say something, when Evelyn spoke coldly, “I just don’t wanna answer. Any problem? Aren't you supposed to be busy, Mr. Montgomery? How do you still have the time to ask my whereabouts?”
They had been together for eight years, and Evelyn had always been gentle. This was the first time she had spoken to him in such a cold tone.
Noticing that something was off with her emotions, and seeing her red and swollen eyes, Ethan’s gaze flickered, and his hands slowly clenched at his sides.
“So, you found out, didn’t you?” His voice was calm, without any fluctuation or panic, as if he had long expected this day to come.
Seeing his lack of guilt, Evelyn’s long-suppressed emotions finally erupted.
She suddenly raised her handbag and threw it at him, her eyes red with fury, like a madwoman.
All the happy moments they had shared were shattered the moment she saw him in bed with another woman last night, and they could never be pieced back together.
“Ethan, how could you do something so disgusting?! If you don’t love me anymore, you could have divorced me. Why did you have to do this to me?!”
