Chapter 21 A Failed Mother

The parents around gradually left, and the lively parking lot also became silent.

Zoey finally realized what longing was. After waiting a long time, she couldn't hold it in anymore. She stepped forward and prepared to go into kindergarten.

"Could you show me your card?"

The security guard reached out and stopped her in front of the door. Although he was very friendly and polite, he did his duty.

"What card?"

"The access card!"

While Zoey was in a daze, a sharp female voice suddenly sounded from the side.

She turned to look. A woman was dressed in a gaudy dress. The fragrance of her body assailed Zoey's nostrils, almost causing her to sneeze.

"You can't just let any Tom, Dick, or Harry enter the school. Are you here to pick up the child or not? You don't even know the access card."

The woman took out a small, delicate card from her Celine bracelet. She held it between her index and middle fingers and shook it in front of the security guard rhetorically. At the same time, she looked Zoey up and down carefully.

Although this woman's behavior was a little uncomfortable, what she said was the truth. She was indeed a failed mother.

Not to mention the access card, she only found out about the school hour of the kindergarten today.

"I'm sorry, but can you bring me in? I don't have the access card. It's my first time picking up my son, so I don't know the rule."

Zoey did not care about the woman's examination and revealed a slightly apologetic smile.

She had no choice but to ask this woman for help.

The woman snorted coldly. Her eyes glanced at the car parked not far behind Zoey and she curled her lips.

"It's no good. I don't know whether you are a liar."

No matter how good Zoey's temper was then, she couldn't help but feel a little angry when she saw this woman's aggressive appearance.

Moreover, she was still worried about Vanny.

"Hello, this is really the first time I've come to pick up my child. I don't know about the access card. Can you let me in? I can use my ID card as a guarantee."

Zoey turned to the security guard and would not want to talk to the upstart woman anymore.

But this woman seemed to be at odds with her.

"Your ID card accounts for what? Who knows if it's real or fake?"

"You..."

Just as she was about to say something out of anger, she noticed someone familiar from the corner of her eye.

He was still white and tender, like a milk pudding, but when he went out in the morning, his clothes were clearly clean and tidy, but now there were many folds and dust.

On his small face, a pair of red and swollen eyes were particularly conspicuous.

If not for Evan, who else could he be?

Looking at Evan who had clearly cried, Zoey felt a burst of pain in her heart,

"Vanny!"

The corners of Evan's mouth drooped, but his eyes were still staring at the child on the other side of the teacher like a little beast.

Hearing the gentle and familiar voice, he was obviously stunned and turned to run in surprise after a moment.

"Mommy!"

Looking at the little pumpkin running over, Zoey's heart suddenly became extremely soft.

She reached out to pull him into her arms and said softly, "Vanny, mommy is here. What happened to you?"

"Do you see that? My mother is the most beautiful woman in the world!"

For the first time, Evan did not immediately respond to Zoey. Instead, he turned around and shouted at the child who had just been glaring at him.

"Yuck! Evan, stop dreaming. You don't have a mother!"
