Chapter 24 The Consequences of Angering the Windsor family

"Mr. Windsor, the investment that we agreed on can't be canceled just like that. This concerns the rise and fall of Shepard’s Group. I apologize to you."

The pungent smell of perfume on Mrs. Shepard assaulted his face, causing Wyatt's brows to knit together tightly.

"Move aside."

He hated the snobs who were expert at taking advantage of situations, and he was even more annoyed that other people pestered him. This woman in front of him actually did both.

Seeing that the atmosphere around Wyatt was getting tenser and tenser, Mrs. Shepard swallowed a mouthful of saliva but still braced herself and stood there.

She could not accept the fact that she would lose her extravagant life if Wyatt withdrew his capital, not to mention that she would be reproached by her husband when he got home.

"Mr. Windsor, it's just a small fight between children. Don't make everyone unhappy, right?"

Mrs. Shepard smiled awkwardly. Wyatt only felt that she dirtied his eyes, and his pupils were still as cold as snow.

Zoey, who had a sly smile on her face, suddenly interrupted, "Your son is so precious, how can we just let it go?"

Seeing Mrs. Shepard's face turn dark, Zoey's smile faded. She turned to look at Evan, who was obediently lying on his father's shoulder.

"Vanny, tell mommy again, why did you fight?"

Evan pursed his lips and blinked his big eyes, which were the same as Zoey's. After a while, he said weakly,

"Because Sean said that I don't have a mother."

Mrs. Shepard's expression turned extremely bad when the atmosphere around Wyatt became frozen.

"Brat, hurry up and apologize to Vanny!"

The little fatty received a slap from his mother on his head and immediately shouted, "I won't! Evan doesn't have a mother! It was always his grandparents who came to pick him up! He even said that his mother was especially beautiful! I don't believe it! I won't apologize!..."

Zoey couldn't hear the rest of the words clearly. She only saw tears gush to Evan's eyes, and her heart was in great pain.

Mrs. Shepard quickly covered Sean's mouth, but it was too late.

"If the Shepard family still wants to exist in Riverton, immediately disappear with your son in front of me. From now on, disappear in front of my son."

Wyatt slowly spat out these two sentences, his eyes sweeping over Mrs. Shepard once again.

Mrs. Shepard felt as if a poisonous snake had attached to her back. Holding Sean's hand, she trembled and retreated two steps. She did not even dare to look at Wyatt again.

Although those words were the longest sentences that Wyatt had said to her, she knew that this conversation had already ended and there was no next time.

She didn't dare to hope that the investment wouldn't be withdrawn. She only hoped that the Shepard family wouldn't end up with a miserable fate.

Looking at the back of the three of Wyatt's family, she took out her mobile phone with lingering fear.

"Quickly handle the transfer for our son. Don't ask so much. Let's talk about it when we get home!"

---

There was still work to do in the company. Harvey was ordered to go back to deal with the company's affairs while Wyatt sat in the car that sent Zoey here.

The atmosphere in the car was quite oppressive.

Zoey looked at the back of Wyatt from the passenger seat, unable to feel his emotions. Feeling that she was in the wrong, she couldn't find a suitable excuse to start the conversation.

Evan sat in a pile of snacks, showing no signs of happiness.

He had always been sensible and knew that his mother and father were not in a good mood now. As for the reason, he thought it might be because he was not obedient at school and made his mother angry.

He wondered, ‘Would Mommy not love me as much as before because she was angry?’

‘It's all my fault for being disobedient,’ he thought to himself, ‘I fought in school, so the teacher complained to Mommy the first time she came to pick me up...’

The more Evan thought about it, the more depressed he became. His little face, which was originally a milk pudding, was now wrinkled into a bun.
