Seeing that Jason lifted up Zoey's ankle to examine it from every angle, even going as far as to touch it, Wyatt's eyes flashed with a trace of displeasure, and he stood next to Zoey as if to declare his sovereignty.
"Can you handle it or not?"
Jason revealed a sly smile, "What’s the rush?"
Wyatt's face sank. Just as he was about to flare up, Jason immediately regained his stern expression. As Jason walked back to his desk, he said, "Don't worry, she just sprained her ankle."
Only then did Wyatt let out a sigh of relief. He was too lazy to find fault with Jason, and he sat down on a chair next to the outpatient room.
"Is it serious? How many days will it take to recover? Do you need to prescribe some medicine?"
This time, Jason was truly shocked.
Wyatt and Jason had been childhood friends, growing up together. He knew Wyatt very well. This guy had been the most dazzling person in the group since he was young. Not only was he outstanding in all aspects, but he also had great self-control. He never lingered on women.
Despite being constantly surrounded by beautiful and well-connected women, Wyatt had never taken a fancy to any of them. He was wholeheartedly chasing after his wife.
There had been rumors in the outside world that the CEO of Windsor’s Group's was young and promising, but his family affairs were very unhappy. Moreover, Wyatt had never mentioned his wife in front of Jason. He only occasionally looked for Jason to drink. It could be seen that he was in a very bad mood.
Jason thought to himself, "What happened? Could it be that this brat has finally understood and is willing to let me go?"
But it was the first time Jason had seen that Wyatt was so concerned about another person.
Jason hid all his doubts very well. He wrote a few lines on the prescription list, glanced at Zoey, and then at Wyatt.
"It's not serious. It didn't hurt the bones. Don't make a fuss."
As he heard the ridicule in Jason's words, Wyatt's face immediately darkened.
"I'll prescribe you a bottle of medicine. Remember to spray it twice a day. You will be fine in at most two days." Jason stretched out two fingers and pushed the prescription sheet to the table, and the corners of his mouth stretched out an ambiguous arc.
Wyatt naturally knew what Jason was laughing at, but he was too lazy to satisfy his curiosity.
There was a moment of silence in the office, but Zoey was the most embarrassed.
She thought to herself, "Wyatt and this doctor seem to be old acquaintances. The two of them look similar in age, likely close friends. Otherwise, which doctor would be able to calmly treat a patient when his office door was kicked open?"
"Then... let's go pick up Vanny first?"
Zoey was the first to break the silence. Now that she had calmed down, she recalled that her actions just now were indeed dangerous and had triggered such a chain reaction. She felt a little guilty. Even her tone of speech was weak.
"Sit here and rest for a while."
Wyatt's tone was unquestionable. Seeing that Zoey was not seriously injured, he was relieved and regained some indifference at the same time.
In the end, he looked at Zoey's worried expression and added, "I've already asked the driver to pick up Vanny. He’ll be dropped off at my parent's house first."
"Oh..." Zoey did not speak again. She lowered her eyes like a wounded deer.
When Wyatt saw this from the corner of his eyes, his chest tightened, but he still resisted the urge to react.
"You two are just pretending that I don't exist?"
Jason pursed his lips and looked back and forth between the pair in front of him. Finally, he looked at Wyatt, “Aren't you going to introduce her to me?"
"She is Zoey." Wyatt's tone was unwavering as if he was talking about something everyone should know.
Jason suddenly raised his swordlike eyebrows, and for a moment, he lost his composure.
“This woman?” He thought to himself, "Wyatt's wife who has a bad relationship with him?"
