Last night, when she thought about who would go shopping with her, Vivian immediately came to mind.
Vivian's family business was related to jewelry. In addition, her taste was good. Zoey was very assured to shopping for jewelry with her.
However, although Vivian agreed, she could not help but mock Zoey.
Zoey was already prepared for this. When she heard this, she hugged Vivian's arm and said, "Oh, come on, there are times when people are confused, right? You haven't met your Mr. Right yet. If you did, you might be worse off than me."
"Impossible! I, Vivian, will never be fooled by a stinky man!" Vivian declared resolutely, sounding every bit like the bossy sister.
Zoey smiled and did not continue to argue with her. Having been through it herself, she knew better than to engage in a pointless debate. In any case, Vivian would find out for herself at that time.
The two of them laughed as they arrived at the largest jewelry store and began to browse through the style of the jewelry they liked.
"Look, this necklace is not bad. It is pure with precision cuts." With her professional taste, Vivian quickly took a fancy to a sapphire necklace and called Zoey over and take a look.
"Sapphire." Zoey thought for a moment. She did seem to have a blue dress. It should be fine matching with this one.
The salesgirl, who was eagerly assisting them, saw a chance and quickly said, "This is a set of designs, three pieces in total. They are all cut off from the same sapphire source stone. They are the latest designs specially designed by a master."
"Shall I take them out for you to see?"
Zoey nodded and said casually, "Sure, bring them over."
The salesgirl went to get the jewelry with a happy face.
Suddenly, the door swung open again and another couple walked in – a man and a woman, hand in hand, clearly a pair of lovers.
The other salesperson greeted them and asked warmly, "Welcome, please take a look."
Before the man could say anything, the woman had already begun throwing a fit. Intimately pulling the arm of the man, she whined, "I don't like the jewelry here. The style seems to be very old-fashioned. The previous store is better."
The expression of the salesgirl froze.
The man said, "Shall we go back and take a look?" His voice was filled with adoration, as if he did not feel there was anything wrong with her at all.
The woman shrugged, "Forget it. Since we're already here, let's take a look. Maybe there is something that I like?"
As she spoke, she looked around. Her gaze fell on Zoey's hand and immediately lit up, “That necklace is not bad. The sapphire is so beautiful."
She walked over without a second thought, ignoring the person holding the necklace. She blurted out, "That necklace on your hand is not bad. Let me see it!" and she was about to take it.
How could Zoey let her get away with that? Zoey immediately retracted her hand to make the woman's movements miss. She said with a faint smile, " Well, well, it’s been a few days, but you really make me look at you in a new light."
Hearing the familiar voice, the woman looked up in disbelief. When she saw Zoey, she cried out in surprise, "Zoey? Why is it you!"
Zoey put the necklace back into the box and looked at the woman with a smile. Then she turned her gaze to Howard, who was standing beside her with an awkward expression, “It's me. I was shopping. But it was very strange, I didn't expect to meet you two here."
The two of them – one being her best friend, Ashley, and the other, Howard.
"So what do you want to buy? Rings? Don't tell me you..."
Zoey’s voice trailed off, her tone dripping with subtle insinuation.
