Chapter 44 I Used to Be Stupid

After Howard and Ashley finally left, Zoey and Vivian found a nearby café and sat down. The moment their eyes met, they both laughed out loud.

Vivian wiped away the tears at the corner of her eyes and admired Zoey from the bottom of her heart, “Oh my god, Zoey, I swear you have really been reincarnated into the wrong era. If you were a royal consort in some ancient dynasty, you would definitely be a femme fatale!"

"You are really amazing!"

"Stop that! It was just a spur-of-the-moment thing.” Zoey responded with a casual wave of her hand, “Who knew they came to me to be an eyesore? Isn't it a waste not to take the opportunity to tear through his wallet? Did you see Ashley's expression? It's really funny!"

Ever since her rebirth, she had finally let out a sigh of relief.

But it was still not enough, far from enough!

She wanted to ruin their reputation and make them die a horrible death!

Vivian was still immersed in what had just happened and did not notice her strange emotions, “That's right. They are secretly hooking up with each other, and pretend that we didn't see it. It's funny. So, what’s your next move?"

"Next move?" Zoey paused, "Of course, I’ve got my ways. I won't let them get what they want, that’s for sure."

Vivian nodded, "I am relieved to see you like this. For a second, I was worried you might fall for their tricks."

"How could I? Am I that stupid?"

Vivian squinted at her, “Yes, I mean... remember how you were in the past. You believed everything Howard said, and it’s like your brain was lost. It's only better now, but back then..."

"Alright, alright, enough! I know I used to be stupid. It's a good thing that I woke up now. Can you stop rubbing it in?" Zoey was ashamed and regretful of her words, begging for mercy.

Vivian smiled proudly, “That's for your own good so that you won't be the same as before. Alright, I'll let it slide this time."

"Thank you for sparing me. By the way, I have to attend the annual meeting tomorrow. Why don't you come with me?" A sudden thought crossed her mind.

She was starting to feel like Vivian was more of a kindred spirit than she’d ever realized. Thinking back, she did not know how stupid she was in the past to push such a good friend away and ignore her.

She had been so stupid!

Vivian shook her head and said with amusement, "That is your Windsors’ annual meeting. What is there for an outsider like me to go?"

Zoey thought that it made sense. It wasn’t the best fit for her to attend, so she didn’t push any further.

Soon it was the day of the annual meeting.

In these two days, Zoey and Wyatt got along quite well. When they met each other, they were calm, but there was one thing that made her unhappy.

Wyatt didn’t try to touch her again as he had said before.

This made her very depressed. “Was something wrong with him?” She thought, "Otherwise, how could an adult have no sexual desires?"

It didn't make sense!

She felt that she had to find an opportunity to have a good talk.

However, before she had the chance, they had to set off for the annual meeting.

With a little mischief in mind, she dressed especially bold for the occasion. She wore a black-and-white classic Chanel-style dress, paired with the latest Prada bag for the season, and on her feet, she was wearing a pair of red-bottom heels. She was as bright as a top-tier model coming out of a show.

She was stunning, elegant, and radiant.

Even though he had seen her many times before, when Wyatt saw her, he still felt his heart beat violently, and his breathing became much faster.

He suddenly felt a little regretful. Maybe he should not have agreed to bring her along tonight. Looking like this, she should only be seen by him. The thought of others admiring her beauty made him uneasy.
