Chapter 101 I Want to Kiss You

His eyes were like burning torches, and his grip on her hands was a little tight. Joanne knew that she couldn't get away with it, so she told the truth.

"Rosalyn told me. Think about it now... I should thank her."

If it had not been for Rosalyn's reminding her to read the news report at that time, she would not have known that Brian had paid great attention to their wedding rings.

No one could laugh at her next time for not even having a wedding ring! However-

"Is this a wedding ring?" She turned the diamond ring on her hand, and her bright eyes shimmered in anticipation.

Brian raised his eyebrows and answered, "Strictly speaking, wedding rings should be a set of rings. This can only be considered as an engagement ring."

Joanne slightly furrowed her delicate eyebrows. "You haven't proposed to me, so, I shouldn't wear this ring. Should we wear our couple rings?"

Brian's gaze was deep, and he showed a faint smile. "Joanne, couple rings are to be worn by each other at a wedding."

"Wedding?"

The word stabbed Joanne's heart like a thin needle that sank into the bottom of her heart. She raised her lips and said, "I'll still wear this one."

After saying this, she turned around with a smile and left the dressing room.

She and Brian were a legal couple, and they were known to love each other deeply. But now, she realized that they didn't even have a wedding ceremony. The meal of only four people fourteen years later than they first met was their "wedding banquet", which was too shabby in Joannes eyes.

It was sad for her to talk about it.

Brian looked at Joanne's back, and his lips twitched slightly.

What she ought to get, she would get it all from him.

However, since she was yet to be tamed, it was not the right time to give it to her.

The anniversary celebration would start at 7:30 pm, and when Joanne went downstairs, it was exactly 6:00 pm. Iris urged Joanne and Brian to leave.

Until then, Joanne noticed that Iris was still wearing a housecoat that she wore during the day. She asked in doubt, "Mom, won't you go with us?"

"This is the occasion for young people like you. I don't want to go there. What for? No one can play mahjong with me there." Iris smiled. "When you leave, I will go back home."

While saying this, Iris noticed the ring on Joanne's hand. She recognized that the diamond was cut from the original diamond that Brian had bought. The smile on her face was bigger. "I asked Brian why he spent so much money on a diamond and he didn't want to tell me. I didn't expect that he bought it for you. The design of the ring is really beautiful."

There was a smile in Joanne's eyes, and her face involuntarily turned blushed. Right then, Brian came downstairs. Iris got up and said to them, "You go now. I will go back home."

Iris had her own driver. After watching her car drive away, Joanne and Brian got on their own car. The black Rolls Royce started slowly and headed to the downtown hotel in the dusk.

Joanne's dress was a little long. After she got on the car, she tidied it for a while and put her handbag away before asking, "Brian, can I ask you about something?"

Brian looked over at her. "What is it?"

"The explosion of Ava's car and the thing about Bennett Familys chain restaurants, the bad sanitary conditions in their kitchenDo you have anything to do with that?" Joanne asked uncertainly.

Brian raised his eyebrows. "The chain restaurants belong to the Bennett Family. They have their own management methods. Why do I have anything to do with their bad sanitary conditions? As for Ava's car... Do you think that I'm the kind of person who would do that?"

In the business community, everyone knew that Brian was quick, cruel, and efficient to attack his opponents and was ruthless when competing with others. He was unacceptably strict to himself and his subordinates. However, he was not harsh and was a man of justice. He never did bad things behind others.

He was surely not like that kind of person.

But Joanne knew that he only played fair in business. As for in daily life... he couldn't be more overbearing, stingy, rogue, and unreasonable!

She shook her head and answered, "You are not like that kind of person, but I still think... it is you."

Brian felt helpless that he had married a too frank woman. He caressed his forehead and said, "Even if it is me- what do you want? Um?"

By saying so, he admitted that it was him.

Joanne's brilliant eyes were filled with a smile. "I want to kiss you!"

She paused for a while before continuing, "You don't know that I have hated Ava for a long time since I was studying abroad."

During the years when she and Freya were studying in the United States, they met with Ava several times. At that time, though Ava was not hostile, she was still unfriendly to Freya. Joanne always disliked those who Freya hated. So every time she met Ava, she couldn't help but quarrel with her.

Now, Brian had punished Ava for her. She believed that Ava dared not to crash her anymore even when in an armored vehicle.

Brian leaned leisurely against the soft and comfortable backrest and said, "She won't ever appear in front of you again."

Joanne's eyes sparkled. "That's why I said I wanted to kiss you."

Brian raised his lips and lifted a strand of her long hair causally while saying, "It's not convenient now. When we get home after the ceremony, you can do whatever you want, is that ok?"

Joanne paused, and her face turned blushed. She pushed Brian. "Rogue."

At 6:45 pm, the car stopped in front of the hotel.

Not only the big businessmen would appear on the tenth anniversary celebration of Lambert Group, but also the major stars of Lambert Group Media Co. would certainly dress up to attend it, and the NO.1 star of Lambert Group Media Co. , Rosalyn, had declared that she would come back from abroad to attend it.

Not to mention the gossips of other stars, just the love triangle between Brian, Joanne and Rosalyn, as well as who would look more stunning between Rosalyn and Joanne would make the celebration so dramatic.

Lambert Group had sent invitations to various media. The reporters went to the hotel with cameras at noon to wait for them to come. When Brian's car stopped, reporters and photographers swarmed over them.

Joanne had never been surrounded by so many reporters before, so, she couldn't help but shiver. "Why, why are there so many journalists? It has not been mentioned on the plan that you are going to do interviews."

"This is a tradition." Brian told her to relax down. "Gavin has told them not to ask you too many questions. You can just follow me."

Joanne took a deep breath anxiously. "Since I'm here, I can't show my anxiety and bring shame to Brian."

She nodded. Brian opened the door of the car to get off, and Winston also got off the car to open the door of the other side for her.

Brian turned around and reached out his hand to her-

It had to say that his hands were really beautiful. His fingers were slender, and his palms were thick and solid as if there were enormous power behind them, which made Joanne feel very reassured.

She took Brian's hand, got off the car, and held his arm. Journalists and cameras almost surrounded them right at this moment.

"Mr. Lambert, what do you want to say about the tenth year of Lambert Group?"

"Mr. Lambert, for the current real estate market, you..."

"Mr. Lambert..."

Countless questions were thrown over to Brian and were all about things in business. It was great for Brian to remember each question from the reporters and give them brief but unequivocal answers. He looked so elegant and charming at the moment.

Joanne had once read an article written by a media worker, who said that she liked to interview Brian the most although he rarely gave interviews.

Of course, it was partly because he was very handsome but mainly because he would answer every question that he was able to answer. His answers were brief, but he took each question seriously. Though the reporter could not get closer to him after the interview, he was always polite, gentle, and charming in interviews.

As for those questions which he would not be able to answer, his secretary would inform the reporters at the beginning. No one dared to ask him those questions in the interview.

Joanne slowly understood that if a woman like Rosalyn was dead set on Brian, perhaps it was not only because of his appearance.

However, she did not know why Brian was never as polite and gentle to her as others had said.

"Hey? Mrs. Lambert-" Suddenly, a reporter changed the topic. "Your diamond necklace and ring, are they made of the diamond that Mr. Lambert bought four months ago?"

All the reporters' attention was attracted by the unexpected question immediately.

Four months ago, Brian bought the diamond at a high price, but the reporters did not interview him. Everyone guessed that he wanted to impress and flatter Rosalyn with the diamond, and at that time, no sign showed that he would get married.

It turned out that the diamond had been made into some unique pieces of jewelry which Joanne wore that day.

The reporters were thrilled by the news as Rosalyn was proved dead wrong!

"Mr. Lambert! Did you buy this diamond for Mrs. Lambert?"

Joanne squeezed her own hand- she was afraid to hear Brian's denial.

"Yes." Brian's answer was still concise.

The photographers went wild taking photos of Joanne after hearing the answer as if they had gotten earth-shaking news. "Why? Is it because the diamond is unique?"

"Yes." Brian looked at Joanne and smiled. "And it is very suitable for my wife."

"Mr. Lambert-" The reporters had forgotten the problems that they originally prepared to ask and kept digging news between Brian and Joanne. "When did you and your wife meet each other?"

"Wow-" The reporter was amazed. "Mrs. Lambert, have you and Mr. Lambert been childhood sweethearts since you were young?"

Joanne's face was already a little blushed. When she was asked with this question, she was helpless. Brian gently hugged her and said in her ear, "Don't be nervous. We will go in after answering this question."

Gavin saw that the situation was out of control. He knew that the reporters would continue to ask about the details of Brian and Joanne's love story. He was afraid that Joanne couldn't deal with the savvy journalists, so he called the security guards over.

Joanne could not hold on under the reporters questions. She compressed her lips and finally answered, "We only knew each other when we were young."

"Mrs. Lambert, when did you two get together? When did Mr. Lambert propose to you?"

Finally, the journalists asked her with the details. Joanne was even more helpless but felt that Brian was holding her more tightly. She felt inexplicably relaxed, and the security guards finally came over and made a way for them among the crowd.

Brian stepped on the red carpet and walked into the hotel with Joannes arms around his. There were still flashing lights around them and the sounds of the photographers taking photos.

The online media wrote the news releases about Brian and Joanne and put them on their respective websites at once with the title of each release strikingly reddened.

The truth behind Brian's buying the diamond at a high price: to customize jewelry for his beloved wife.

The gossip forum was suddenly boiling with the news, and the determined fans of Rosalyn left their messages in her microblog to comfort her. Some people who didn't like Rosalyn naturally expressed their happiness on those forums. "Rosalyn was slapped in the face, hahahaha."

Just as the media had expected, the anniversary celebration of Lambert Group was so bustling, and the flash-news came out just at the beginning of it.

They believed that later it would be more exciting.
