"Brother Wesley, shall we take action?"
Wesley looked at Yuna through the telescope and didn't speak for quite some time.
The telescope was a high-end and expensive equipment. By adjusting the angle, he could even see every subtle expression on Yuna's face.
From the moment they walked out of the outpatient building, Yuna had been holding Emily's hand. She followed Rowdy with a bland look as if she was not expecting anything.
Wesley suddenly remembered the period when Yuna worked undercover with him.
At that time, Yuna was young and fearless. Her eyes were firm and there was always a smile on her face. She had never stopped racing ahead.
What Wesley liked were Yuna's endless courage and vitality.
However, he did not protect her well.
Her vitality had been worn away little by little after she went back to Rowdy. What supported her now could only be courage.
If Wesley chose to save Yuna and bring her back, she might be able to regain her vigor.
But Wesley had to admit that he was not 100% sure.
He might fail in his attempt due to Rowdy's extreme vigilance.
Wesley could put up with one failure, but Yuna couldn't.
Kim had sent an email to Wesley after he arrived in Canada, which stated that Yuna had sneaked into Rowdy's study and was found by Rowdy.
Although Emily had helped Yuna out, Rowdy became suspicious of her. That's why Rowdy had made an appointment at the gynaecologist for Yuna to check if she was lying.
Wesley repeatedly told the doctor who saw Yuna that he had to help her win Rowdy's trust.
This test, which showed whether the child had any signs of life, should be able to dispel half of Rowdy's suspicion.
If he confronted Rowdy rashly and failed, everything the doctor had done would be in vain and Rowdy would doubt Yuna even more.
After all, as far as Rowdy could see, Yuna not only misunderstood and betrayed Wesley, she even aborted an innocent little life.
How could he still care about Yuna if it weren't for something else?
Wesley wouldn't take action unless he was 100% sure. Yuna would not want him to do it either.
Seeing Wesley remaining silent, the Captain became even more anxious and his palms were sweating. "Brother Wesley, we don't have much time. We need your decision!"
Through the telescope, Wesley could see that Rowdy and Yuna had arrived at the parking lot.
Rowdy's subordinate drove the car over immediately. Rowdy opened the door and shielded Yuna and Emily as they got into the car.
Yuna was very cooperative. She didn't even look around. She got into the car calmly and closed the door.
The windows were specially designed which prevented others from looking in from the outside. Therefore, Wesley was unable to see Yuna no matter how he adjusted the telescope.
Wesley slowly put down his hands and moved away from the telescope.
Almost at the same time, Rowdy's car started and left the hospital, escorted by five or six cars.
The Captain became even more anxious. He clenched his fists and almost stamped his feet. "Brother Wesley, this is the last chance. Make a decision!"
Although Yuna had left the hospital, as long as she had not returned to Rowdy's house, they could still take action.
They were very good at conducting raids.
It all depended on Wesley's decision!
Wesley closed the curtains, obstructing the view of the telescope. He ordered, "Call William to come over. I have something to ask him."
William Jacob was the doctor that Wesley planted in the Eighth Hospital for Yuna's appointment.
The Captain didn't understand Wesley. He asked, "What about Miss Wallace? We will not be saving her?"
Through the curtains, Wesley could vaguely see the tall modern buildings outside but he already lost sight of Rowdy's car.
He clenched his fists slightly and said after a few seconds, "We will save her, but we need an appropriate time."
The Captain was unwilling to give up so easily, but he soon realized that Wesley was the person who would have wanted to save Yuna the most. There must be a reason for his decision.
The only thing they could do was to trust Wesley.
"I see." The Captain nodded. "I'll contact Dr. William right away."
William soon came over from the Eighth Hospital.
He took off his white gown and changed into an elegant cashmere coat with a chic scarf, which made him look like a childe rather than a doctor.
Wesley glanced at William and asked him to take a seat.
William sat down and looked at Wesley in surprise. "You didn't go after Yuna?"
Wesley ignored William's surprise, and without any pretence at subtlety said, "I want to know the results of Yuna's examination."
William's expression grew solemn. "Are you ready for the bad news?" he asked.
"Get to the point!" Wesley froze. His words contained an undertone of warning.
William told Wesley frankly. "Rowdy has taken Yuna to do an examination before. Today she accepted a second one. I compared the results and found her condition has worsened."
Though it was as they expected, Wesley still couldn't digest the news all at once.
He remembered Yuna's calm look just now.
No one was born calm. There were countless formidable experiences behind a person's calmness.
How much pain did Yuna go through that she could face her condition so calmly?
Wesley's heart tightened. He felt like someone was burning his heart with a torch until his entire heart melted.
William didn't know if it was his illusion, but he seemed to see a hint of pain between Wesley's eyebrows.
Alas, it seemed like a joke that Wesley would suffer pain.
But now, it really happened!
William wanted to study Wesley's expression for a little longer, but his conscience told him not to. He changed the subject and said, "However, I also have good news-the baby is very healthy."
This was absolutely not good news for Wesley. On the contrary, it was like adding fuel to the fire. The flame burned more furiously on his heart, intensifying his pain.
William didn't expect his words to have such an effect. He touched his nose and continued, "I will take the reports to the private hospital and discuss the treatment plan with other doctors."
Though Yuna had a slim chance of recovery, the doctors would try their best and then leave it to fate.
After a long time, Wesley finally calmed down and asked, "Is there anything unusual about Yuna in the hospital today?"
"No, not at all." William rubbed his temples, seeming to have a headache, or probably just sighing. "She's more cautious than I'd imagined."
Yuna looked like a careless person. But in fact, she would notice every detail every time.
It was reasonable that she treated William cautiously under such circumstances.
A faint smile appeared on Wesley's face. He continued to ask, "What about you? Did you give her any hint?"
"I did twice," William said as he raised two fingers. "I told her that she still had a chance to survive and I could help her. When I prescribed her medicine, I specially mentioned that the medicine has no side effects and is good for her."
Wesley gave William a satisfied look. "Did she respond to what you said?" he asked.
William shrugged helplessly, "She was too cautious. She didn't react at all. Just glanced at me a few more times."
Wesley's face darkened and he stared at William intently.
William noticed the warning signs and quickly explained, "Don't worry. Yuna is definitely not interested in me. She should have her doubts about me."
"You think too much. I'm not worried at all," Wesley said while glancing at William. "Yuna would never be interested in you."
William was speechless. "Damn, that hurts," he thought.
Wesley suddenly remembered what William had said. He frowned and asked, "William, what medicine did you give to her?"
William clenched his fist and coughed slightly. "Just vitamin pills, though the name on the bottle seems a little scary. But, they don't look like vitamin pills, or Rowdy might discover it. Don't worry. I got it."
Wesley had taken Yuna to do an antenatal test once where the doctor had warned her specifically that she couldn't take any form of drugs.
Yuna would not have taken the pills that William gave to her if she did not suspect that Wesley had planted William in the hospital.
However, Rowdy might watch her personally to make sure she took the medicine.
At that time, if Yuna hesitated, Rowdy would be suspicious of her.
Wesley's frown deepened. "Why did you prescribe her that?" he asked.
He just told William to raise Yuna's hopes.
No matter how bad the examination results were, William would tell Yuna that she had a chance of recovery.
Wesley didn't want Yuna to give up any hopes of living.
"It would be weird if I told her she might recover but did not give her anything. I should at least prescribe her some medicine," William said. He smiled mysteriously after a pause. "And if Yuna finds the medicine is just vitamins, she will know that I'm on your side."
"She'd better find out," Wesley retorted, narrowing his eyes.
William shrugged optimistically-he believed Yuna would discover his trick.
However, Wesley's face tensed up. He was not optimistic about the situation at all.
Would Yuna find out that William had given her vitamin pills and guess everything?
If she did, would everything get better?
