Chapter 1026 Mist Disperses; Truth Reveals (4)

Rowdy had never openly acknowledged his relationship with Yuna to anyone.

However, as Yuna had been living in Rowdy's house and Emily was dependent on her, Rowdy's subordinates had already reached a conclusion that Yuna would become Emily's stepmother one day.

Apart from Rowdy, Yuna was the most influential person in the Kent family.

Even Milo had to obey her orders.

But this time, Milo didn't want to send William back as Yuna had ordered.

William infuriated Milo so much that Milo had an almost overwhelming desire to tear him apart. How could he just send him away?

However, William couldn't stay any longer.

Yuna thought for a moment and discreetly gave Emily a look.

The smart Emily immediately took the hint. He walked up to William, looked at him and said, "Sir, I'll send you out."

William treated Emily in a completely different manner. He squatted down, looked at Emily and responded in an extremely gentle voice, "Wow, thank you."

"My pleasure!"

Emily flashed him a cute and angelic grin.

He scampered in front of William and escorted him out.

The driver had been waiting at the door. Seeing William coming out, he got out of the car, opened the door, and gestured to William to get in.

William bent over, touched Emily's head and said, "Goodbye, kiddie."

"Goodbye, uncle," Emily responded, waving at William.

When William got into the car, Emily quickly ran back and headed straight upstairs.

Milo was still standing at the door of Yuna's room. When Emily ran up, he was asking, "Miss Wallace, how do you feel now?"

"Much better," Yuna said as her face regained some color.

Outwardly, Yuna had indeed recovered a little.

Even if Milo didn't believe Yuna, he would believe his own eyes.

He nodded and said, "Then take a good rest. I'll tell Brother Rowdy so he will not worry."

Yuna didn't say anything. She reached out to Emily and said, "Come in. It's time for bed."

"Okay!"

Emily took Yuna's hand and followed her back to the room. Yuna locked the door when they went in.

After a while, when she was sure that Milo had left, she asked in a low voice, "Emily, did the doctor go back?"

"Yes, I saw him getting into the car!" Emily then asked curiously after a pause, "Auntie Yuna, does the doctor know Uncle Hayes?"

Yuna thought for a while and subconsciously smiled. "Uncle Hayes and the doctor should be good friends."

"I cannot help smiling whenever anyone talks about you."

"Wow!" Emily said excitedly, "so the doctor will help you, won't he?"

"Of course." Yuna patted the little fellow's head and gave him a reassuring smile. "He came here to help me this time."

Emily's face cracked into a smile. He hugged Yuna and said in a firm voice, "Auntie Yuna, I will help you, too."

Yuna didn't say anything, but her eyes were already wet.

As a five-year-old boy, Emily could not distinguish between good and evil yet.

He just vaguely knew that if Yuna stayed with Rowdy, she would not be safe at all.

Therefore, he hoped that Yuna could return to Wesley so that she could live the rest of her life peacefully under Wesley's protection.

Yuna looked at Emily gently and said in a soft voice, "Well, go to take a shower and then sleep."

"I'll go by myself!" Emily looked like a little man. "I can bathe myself. You can go and rest!"

Although the little fellow was young, he had his own ideas. Yuna knew that she couldn't convince Emily, so she handed him his pajamas and said, "Sure, you can do it by yourself."

Emily took the pajamas and ran into the bathroom. After a while, his singing and the sound of water could be heard.

Yuna tucked herself under the quilt and when she thought about it, it seemed that Emily had rarely been so happy since she came back this time.

If she left, would the little fellow still be so happy?

The answer was obvious, but Yuna dared not face the truth directly.

At this moment, Yuna was glad that Emily was still young and still had a long life ahead of him.

He would be sad for some time after she left, but he would not be sad forever.

When he grew up, he would have his own life.

By that time, she should not be alive anymore and Emily should no longer remember her.

In that light, it would be a good ending.

Soon, Emily ran out in his pajamas with his hair still wet. He looked super cute.

Yuna helped him dry his hair. After that, he got into bed and snuggled up to Yuna and soon fell asleep.

When Rowdy came back, Yuna and Emily had already gone off to dreamland.

He didn't enter the room but just looked at them from the door. A while later, he took Milo into the study.

Rowdy looked sullen but did not show any emotion outwardly. Milo had to brace himself and observed Rowdy carefully.

After a long time, Rowdy slowly said, "How did Yuna feel when the doctor left?"

"Miss Wallace said she was much better," Milo answered. He hesitated for a second and added angrily, "But it had nothing to do with the doctor! Brother Rowdy, I think that doctor is not professional at all!"

Rowdy glanced at Milo and asked unhurriedly, "What's your reason for saying that?"

Milo repeated what William had just said and then said, "Brother Rowdy, how can you ask such an undisciplined doctor to be Miss Wallace's attending doctor?"

Rowdy did not respond to Milo immediately. Instead, he was lost in thought.

He had conducted a comprehensive investigation and chose the best doctor to be Yuna's attending doctor.

Did he make a wrong choice?

When he was doubting his decision, his cell phone rang, showing "attending doctor" on the screen.

He picked up the phone and heard the voice of William, "Good evening, Mr. Kent."

Judging from his voice, he was professional and steady as a doctor should be instead of being as frivolous and casual as Milo had said.

Rowdy probed, "What's wrong, doctor?"

"Your subordinates misunderstood me. I think I should give you an explanation," William answered. He continued after a pause, "Miss Wallace's discomfort came suddenly and I could do nothing about it. However, I will try my best to reduce the frequency of her paroxysms. I will use medication to help make her feel better in the future."

"Okay," Rowdy said, "I'm counting on you."

"I'll do my best." William was neither humble nor pushy, and his voice revealed his confidence. "Mr. Kent, I won't disturb you, then."

Rowdy hung up the phone and looked at Milo, saying, "You're overreacting. We can trust this doctor."

Milo blurted out anxiously and subconsciously, "Brother Rowdy, have you investigated this doctor thoroughly?" After that, he suddenly realized that he was questioning Rowdy. He lowered his head and said, "I'm sorry, that's not what I meant."

"I know you're worried about Yuna." Rowdy raised his hand, motioning for Milo not to be nervous. "Actually, I thought of it, too. I investigated this doctor. There's nothing suspicious about him. You should focus on something else."

Milo was unwilling to give up. But he had no evidence, so he could only listen to Rowdy. "I see," he said.

"Good." Rowdy lit a cigarette and sent Milo away. "It's late. You can go back."

Milo left Rowdy's house and drove home.

At the same time, William was on his way to meet Wesley.

He arrived at the apartment at 11 p.m. Someone was waiting for him at the door and immediately greeted him when he saw him. "Dr. William, please come with me," he said.

After entering the elevator, William shivered and took in a deep breath as if he had a toothache.

The subordinate asked nervously, "What's wrong, Dr. William? Are you unwell?"

William asked seriously, "Is it proper for a man to meet your Brother Wesley in the middle of the night?"

The subordinate was speechless. After a long time, he emphasized, "Doctor Fang, it's not a matter of whether it is proper or not. It's a matter of safety!"

There was a mirror in the elevator, which reflected the images of the people inside clearly.

William looked at himself in the mirror and replied, "Yeah, it's really not safe for a handsome person like me to be out at midnight."

After leaving the Kent family residence, William had torn off his mask and was now back to his normal young and handsome visage. He was not worried at all that Rowdy would find out what he really looked like.

The elevator door opened as soon as William finished speaking.

The subordinate took William to the door of Wesley's house and directly pushed him in.

He couldn't stand this narcissist anymore. Let him bother Wesley instead!

William was not prepared. He stumbled into the apartment and staggered a little before he managed to keep his balance. When he looked up, he saw Wesley standing on the balcony outside.

He could lose everything except his handsome looks!

He calmed himself immediately and walked to the balcony and teased Wesley leisurely, "What are you thinking about, Brother Wesley?"

Wesley glanced at William and asked, "How's Yuna?"

"Don't worry. She was much better when I left," William replied, patting Wesley's shoulder hard. "Listen up, I have good news for you!"

"Say it," Wesley said lightly.

William was not expecting such a reaction from Wesley. He continued to speak. "It's about Yuna."

"Say it!" He commanded. Something flashed through his eyes and his face was taut.
