Chapter 1028 A Scar Imprinted Forever in His Heart

William knew that this question was very cruel.

Yuna and the child were like Wesley's left and right atria.

If Wesley lost either one of them, he would suffer an excruciating pain.

However, if Wesley was given time to think about it, he would definitely delay because he could not make a choice.

But if he delayed any longer, the baby would not survive, and the possibility of Yuna's recovery would be decreased.

Wesley must endure such pain in order to see the light in the midst of the darkness and find the hope of survival.

William put his hand on Wesley's shoulder and said in a heavy tone, "I'll go back and tell the other doctors. Yuna's life will be our top priority and we will come up with a medical plan with that in mind. As for other things, we will not bother with them."

Wesley understood what William implied.

Until this moment, his and Yuna's child was still healthy, and he still had a chance to come to the world.

However, after Yuna's treatment started, the child would slowly lose the vitality of his life.

Even if the child was strong enough to accompany Yuna throughout the treatment, his health would be inevitably affected by drugs.

In the end, he would still be unable to come to this world.

The child was innocent, but if he wanted Yuna to survive, he had to give up the innocent child.

No matter what price Wesley had to pay, this brutal and stark outcome was inevitable.

Seeing Wesley keeping quiet, William had to reconfirm with him again. "Wesley, you won't change your mind, will you?"

After he went back, he would draw up a medical plan to keep Yuna alive. If Wesley changed his mind at the last minute, it would definitely be too late.

Compared with everything else in the world, time was an extravagance, especially when it came to diseases.

They could not afford to waste any more time.

Wesley slowly closed his eyes. "William, is there really no other way?"

William knew that Wesley was still unwilling to face the facts and give up.

If possible, Wesley still hoped to save both Yuna and their child.

But it was too difficult. Not a single member of the medical team dared to gamble on such a highly difficult challenge.

From the medical point of view, in this case, it was already lucky that they were able to keep either of them alive.

If Wesley wanted the child to live, William was afraid that the whole team would be distracted, so they couldn't even keep Yuna alive.

William sighed and said helplessly, "Little Seven, I'm sorry, but we... really can't."

Wesley closed his eyes more tightly, as if there was a world full of blood and tears in front of him, which he couldn't face directly.

After an unknown period of time, Wesley slowly said, "I see. I won't change my mind."

William nodded. "In that case, I'll leave first."

He left the apartment after being led out by Wesley's subordinate.

William was an unusual young man. Normally, a person who spoke less would be considered cool, but he liked to go in the opposite direction. He kept talking, and did not think that he was annoying at all.

But today, after he came out of Wesley's apartment, he remained silent.

This was too strange!

The subordinate coughed and asked tentatively, "Doctor Fang, were you tortured by Brother Wesley?"

When he heard that, William looked up at the sky for some reason.

It was already early in the morning. The city, which had been noisy and busy for a whole day, finally felt tired and gradually quieted down. There were only a few stars in the huge night sky, which barely lit up the night.

"Alas..." William couldn't help letting out a long sigh. He admitted it and said, "Yes, I was. I was tortured very badly."

He had been tortured by the twists and turns between Wesley and Yuna.

The subordinate did not know the implication in William's words at all, so he couldn't help asking in wonder, "Doctor Fang, how did Brother Wesley torture you?"

William gave the subordinate a meaningful look and said, "Trust me. It's not good for you to know his ways and means of torture."

"Ways and means..."

For a moment, the subordinate's imagination went wild.

William did not realize that his words could easily cause a misunderstanding, so he got into the car and left the apartment in his usual cool style.

When William's car disappeared from the street, Wesley was still standing on the balcony of his apartment.

Wesley did not know when he started to hate the night intensely.

As he watched the sky getting dark, he couldn't help wondering if the endless darkness would drown out the world and the light would never descend again.

Maybe out of worry, he began to pace back and forth during the long night, unable to fall asleep.

If he wanted to sleep well all night, he could only rely on sleeping pills.

After Yuna left this time, he only slept well that night when he learned that Yuna actually knew the truth.

Wesley had once thought that he might be able to get rid of the sleeping pills.

Now it seemed that he had been too optimistic.

After smoking several cigarettes, Wesley finally returned to the living room and dialed Brian's number.

At this time, Brian, who was far away in Prime Villas, had just returned to his room and was about to lie down when his cell phone suddenly rang.

Brian had a premonition. He picked up the phone and looked at the screen. As expected, Wesley's number was displayed on it.

He walked out of the room and answered the phone at the corridor outside, but he did not hear Wesley's voice for a long time.

Wesley's concept of time was very precise. He used to go straight to the point and talk concisely and comprehensively.

He would never waste other people's time, nor would he allow others to waste his own time.

This was the first time that he had made a phone call but remained silent for a long time.

Brian vaguely realized that things should be worse than he had imagined.

He did not urge Wesley, but waited patiently for Wesley to speak.

After an unknown period of time, Wesley said in a low and cold voice, "William wanted me to make a choice."

Brian knew what Wesley was talking about.

When William just returned to the country, he asked Dr. Roberts about Yuna's situation.

After hearing Dr. Roberts's report, William immediately said that Wesley needed to choose between Yuna or the child.

It was very cruel.

However, they had no better choice.

Brian thought for two seconds and said slowly, "As long as Yuna recovers, you can still have another child. But Yuna is unique. Once you give up on her, you won't be able to find another person to replace Yuna."

Brian knew without guessing that Wesley would definitely choose Yuna.

The reason why he was so sure about it was that he knew what his own decision would be if the same thing happened to him.

In the end, Brian subconsciously chose Joanne without thinking any further.

Aiden and Romy had come to this world and would gradually grow up. Of course, he loved the two babies very much.

But if time was reversed back to when Joanne was pregnant and such a crisis were to happen to Joanne, he could not give her up in exchange for the two babies even if he had seen how lovely they were.

Of course, it was just a hypothesis.

In reality, Brian would not allow such a terrible thing to happen.

Even if it actually happened, he would still find a way out.

He wanted both Joanne and their children.

Thinking about that, Brian suddenly understood that even if he tried his best to find a reason for Wesley's choice, it could not relieve Wesley's pain.

Like him, Wesley wanted to keep both Yuna and their child alive.

This choice would leave a permanent scar in Wesley's heart.

After an unknown period of time, Wesley suddenly asked, "Will he blame me?"

Brian knew that Wesley was talking about the child.

Every single life was precious and worth cherishing.

Wesley just gave up a small life. If the little guy was conscious, he certainly could not understand his father's choice, and he would even be dissatisfied with it.

However, Wesley had no choice but to give up the child.

Brian did not speak, but Wesley already knew his answer. He laughed and hung up the phone.

Brian heard Wesley's laughter, but there was no joy in his laughter.

In fact, Wesley was laughing at himself, wasn't he?

Brian slowly put away his mobile phone, turned around, and saw Joanne standing at the door of the room.

He was surprised and walked over. "Why aren't you sleep?"

Joanne shook her head. "You're not back yet. I can't sleep."

Brian took Joanne back to the room and hugged her tightly as they laid on the bed. "Are you thinking about Yuna?"

Joanne replied with a "hmm", and there was a hint of worry in her voice. "I don't know how Yuna is now..." After that, she looked at Brian expectantly.

When William left the Kent family, he sent a text message to Brian and briefly told him what had happened to Yuna.

Brian thought for a moment and relayed what was in the text message to Joanne. Finally, he said, "Joanne, your suspicions at the beginning is right. Yuna actually knew everything. She went back this time not only to save Mom, but also to avenge Granny Wallace personally."

There was a touch of expectation in Joanne's eyes. "Is Wesley in a better mood after knowing this?"

Brian glanced at Joanne, and did not answer her question, which was rare.

Joanne suddenly realized that something had happened. She sat up and looked at Brian. "What's up?"

After a while, Brian said, "The medical team headed by William needs to make a treatment plan based on Yuna's condition. However, Yuna's case is too special, so Wesley can only choose between Yuna or the child..."

They had a tacit understanding, so Joanne had already guessed the latter half of his sentence before he finished it. She said, "Wesley chose Yuna."

"Mm," Brian said, confirming Joanne's guess.

Joanne lowered her gaze, and her voice sounded down. "Although it's unfair to the child, I can understand why Wesley made such a choice."

"We can both understand." Brian cuddled Joanne in his arms, sighed softly, and continued, "But Wesley can't forgive himself for making such a choice."
