Chapter 1032 The Wedding Date Is Settled (2)

Joanne's question was straightforward and Gavin had no intention of hiding anything. He said frankly, "There's been no good news recently. I think it's time for Wendy and I to hold our wedding. It will be a joyous affair and it can also heighten the atmosphere of the Spring Festival by the way."

Joanne burst into laughter. "It's an unusual excuse."

"Of course, it's my excuse." Gavin sat on the sofa and subconsciously showed a smile. "Joanne, what about my wedding preparations with Wendy?"

Joanne looked at the smile on Gavin's lips and suddenly recalled something.

After Gavin was hospitalized, she often came to see him with soups or dishes that she prepared personally.

This was the only thing she could do for Gavin.

She could not make any suggestions on Gavin's treatment in the capacity of a doctor. She could only take care of him as his family member and provide him with nutritional nourishment, so that he could face the disease in the best physical condition.

Joanne had visited him many times. When Wendy was not around, she rarely saw a smile on Gavin's face. It probably had something to do with his physical exhaustion.

This was the first time that Joanne had seen such a smile of expectation on Gavin's face.

Gavin should be looking forward to his wedding with Wendy, just like how she had looked forward to getting married to Brian two years ago.

Thinking about it, Joanne also smiled. "Wesley and I have done most of the preparations. Just leave it all to me."

Because for Wesley, there was no time to spare.

For him, even Gavin's wedding with Wendy was not as important as Yuna.

Gavin nodded understandingly and looked at Joanne. "Can you deal with it alone?"

"No problem." Joanne shrugged very easily. "There are not many things left to be done and it'll be a piece of cake for me. Besides, it's not that difficult to deceive Wendy."

Gavin knew that Joanne was making a joke about his little girl and there was no malice in her sentence.

He could only admit that Wendy was indeed easily deceived.

Joanne changed the subject and said, "Gavin, let me confirm it with you. Are you sure that you will hold the wedding during the Spring Festival?"

"I'm very sure." Gavin smiled slightly. His tone was not as imposing as before, but filled with sincerity and certainty. "This is the best time, and I really want to marry Wendy."

There was a smile of gratification on Joanne's lips, and at the same time, she breathed a sigh of relief.

This couple would finally be married.

Joanne roughly told Gavin about the plan before, on and after the wedding day. In the end, she asked, "What do you think? Do you want to make any changes?"

"Just go according to your plan." Then, Gavin looked at Joanne and said with a sigh, "Joanne, it's such a pity that you're not a wedding planner."

"It's not a pity," Joanne said seriously, "because the tenth anniversary celebration of Lambert Group and your wedding with Wendy have exhausted my talent in planning."

In other words, even if this plan was not perfect, she had tried her best.

Gavin could not help laughing. Right at this moment, Wendy pushed the door open and came in.

Gavin and Joanne had a tacit understanding. They stopped laughing at the same time and pretended that nothing had happened.

Gavin and Joanne's acting skills were so good that Wendy, who was very exultant, certainly did not discover anything. As soon as she ran in, she said, "Hazel just told me about Gavin's test results!"

Joanne naturally asked, "What's the result?"

Wendy raised the test report in her hand and said with obvious excitement, "Great! Hazel said that Gavin can have the surgery now!"

"This is good news. You should celebrate." Joanne smiled. "I'm leaving."

"Well, Cousin, wait a minute!" Wendy pulled Joanne, and there was a hint of joy in her eyes. "I have something very important to tell you."

"Gavin already told me about the very important thing," Joanne said, "and it's good for you to leave the hospital for the Spring Festival. It will be a pity if you were to spend such a beautiful holiday in the hospital. And according to Gavin's current condition, it shouldn't be a big problem for you if you leave the hospital with Dr. Sanchez for a day or two. Don't worry."

Joanne was right, but Wendy wanted to say more than this.

Wendy glanced at Gavin and was a little conflicted. She did not say anything and directly pulled Joanne out.

Gavin had already guessed what Wendy was going to say to Joanne. He calmly picked up the iPad on the bedside and checked his emails.

He had already told Joanne what his little girl wanted to say.

Therefore, he was not worried at all.

Outside the ward, Wendy, who knew nothing, was looking at Joanne in a dilemma.

Like Gavin, Joanne could guess what Wendy wanted to say, but she could not say it herself. She could only look at Wendy with a puzzled look and asked skillfully, "Wendy, what else do you want to discuss with me?"

Wendy seemed to think of something and blushed in an instant. She bit her lip in embarrassment and looked at Joanne for a long time, and finally said, "Cousin, what do you think if we held our wedding during the Spring Festival?"

Joanne could not help thinking, "Gavin and Wendy have such a tacit understanding. It is definitely a pity if they do not get married during the Spring Festival!"

However, she could not give herself away!

In order to keep Gavin's surprise for Wendy as a secret, Joanne pretended to be surprised. She looked at Wendy for a moment and then showed an expression of approval. "Great!"

Wendy did not expect that Joanne would agree to her idea, so she asked in surprise, "Really?"

Joanne nodded sincerely. "Of course!"

The smile on Wendy's face became bigger. "Then... Cousin, can you prepare for my wedding with Gavin before the Spring Festival?"

Joanne thought to herself, "I have to whether I can do it or not!"

She continued to nod and motioned for Wendy to be at ease. She promised firmly, "Don't worry. It's not a problem."

Wendy screamed excitedly and rushed over to hug Joanne. "Cousin, you're the one I love the most!"

Joanne rapped Wendy's head and said, "Gavin is the one you love most."

Wendy stuck out her tongue and said with a charming smile, "No matter who I love the most, I'll leave the most important event in my life to you!"

"Don't worry. I will have everything ready for you." Joanne suddenly thought of something and asked, "But have you told Aunt about it?"

"I told Mom that I was going to marry Gavin, but the wedding date had not been determined at that time, so I didn't tell her in detail." Wendy could not help covering her face. "I'll call her later and tell her that we have decided on the wedding date!"

Seeing Wendy's shy and excited look, Joanne thought of herself after she promised to marry Brian two years ago.

Sure enough, joy looked the same throughout the world.

Joanne could not help smiling as well. "Well, I'll go back first. I still have to prepare for your wedding with Gavin."

Wendy waved to Joanne and said, "Bye."

With a smile, Joanne left the hospital soon. Wendy returned to the ward.

Wendy was in such a good mood that she hummed a song as she went back to the ward. Gavin glanced at her and could not help smiling. He put down the iPad and asked, "What did you say to Joanne?"

"Nothing." Wendy hummed for a short while and continued, "I made a small request, and my cousin agreed to it!"

Gavin knew that Wendy would not tell him the truth, so he did not probe any further.

He knew better than anyone about Wendy's "small request". He was not surprised that Joanne agreed to it.

For the rest of the day, Wendy was in a good mood. No matter what Gavin asked her to do, she agreed with a smile.

When Gavin said that he wanted to go to the dining hall downstairs for dinner, Wendy did not stop him and took him downstairs happily.

There was an animal corner in the hospital, where some non-aggressive animals were kept. Wendy occasionally took some food to feed these small animals. She was in a good mood today, so she took a large bag of food downstairs and pulled Gavin to feed them after dinner.

Although Gavin's condition had improved a little, he could not do whatever he wanted. He did not approach those small animals, and just looked at Wendy from a distance.

Wendy was particularly excited and fed the small animals patiently. She was very familiar with a Samoyed, and she could even chat with it.

Of course, it would not talk to her but continuously barked at her.

Wendy was amused and laughed, but she did not forget Gavin. She could not bear to leave Gavin standing in the draught, so after a while, she finished feeding the dogs, came back to find Gavin, took his hand and said, "Let's go back."

Gavin glanced at Wendy and asked, "Do you like dogs very much?"

"Not really. Sometimes, I think they are very cute." Wendy suddenly thought of something and shook Gavin's hand. "Didn't you raise a Husky before? But I haven't seen it for a long time. Did you abandon it?"

Gavin was silent for a moment and said, "I gave it away."

Wendy had seen the dog several times when she went to Gavin's house before, and she could see that it had a good relationship with Gavin. How could he be willing to give it away?

She looked at Gavin in confusion. "Why did you give it away?"

"I knew long ago that I was sick," Gavin said helplessly and regretfully, "and I was afraid that I couldn't take good care of it."

Wendy could hear Gavin's yearning for the dog in his tone. She thought for a moment and said, "After your operation, we'll go and get it back!"
