Chapter 1040 I Want You to Marry Me

When Wesley was in the meeting, Yuna was also very busy.

At the Kent family residence in the old city area.

As Yuna and Emily said that they wanted to decorate the house, Rowdy's subordinates soon carried over two boxes of Spring Festival decorations, inside which were four big red lanterns.

Emily suddenly became interested in the lanterns. He picked up a lantern from the box and yelled, "Auntie Yuna, can we replace the lantern on the door with this one? I want to light it. It means the Spring Festival is coming!"

The existing lantern on the door was lit by an energy-efficient bulb that would turn on automatically when the sky darkened.

But this was not the point. The point was-

There was an explosive device inside the lantern. If you fiddled with it, the whole house would be blown up!

Therefore, Yuna gasped with shock when Emily suddenly said he wanted to change the lantern. She hurriedly said, "Emily, the old lantern is very good. If we change it, it will be very sad."

"But-" Emily pointed at the "spring" character on the lantern and said, "The old lantern doesn't have this. I want this on the lantern!"

"Well..." Yuna noticed a sticker that had the character "spring" in the box. She quickly took it out, saying, "The character can be pasted on the lantern. Let's ask someone to paste it on the old lantern!"

If the little fellow insisted on replacing the lantern, it would not be an easy job.

They needed to find experts to clear the explosive first!

Emily tilted his head and thought for a moment. Finally, he nodded and said, "Fine."

Yuna called two people over and gave the "spring" sticker to them. "Paste it on the lantern. Be quick, and be careful!" she said.

"Huh?" Emily blinked in confusion. "Auntie Yuna, why did you tell them to be careful?"

Yuna coughed and found an excuse, "Because they need to climb up to stick it on. It's very dangerous."

Emily was suddenly enlightened. He looked at the subordinates and followed Yuna's example as he reminded them, "Uncle, be careful!"

"Okay, okay."

They scurried out with the things. Emily finally stopped thinking about the lantern.

Yuna breathed a sigh of relief. She picked up some other decorations from the box and took Emily's hand, saying, "Let's go and put these up."

"Okay!" Emily skipped after Yuna, with curiosity and excitement written all over his face.

However, due to his limited height and strength, Emily couldn't really do much. He only offered to help.

The little guy trusted Yuna and understood his weakness. He didn't take the initiative to do anything but just cooperated with Yuna.

Yuna spent more than an hour putting up the decorations. Emily suddenly said, "Auntie Yuna, let's take a break."

Yuna just finished pasting the character "fortune". She got off the stool and habitually touched the little guy's head. "Are you tired?" she asked.

"No, I'm not," The little guy smiled sweetly. He looked at Yuna and said, "But if we don't take a rest, I think you and the baby will be very tired."

Yuna suddenly realized that the little fellow was thinking about her. She couldn't help kissing him. "Okay, let's have a rest."

A servant brought some fruits and snacks. Emily and Yuna leaned against each other as they ate and rested.

After finishing the food, Emily forgot about the decorations and directly pulled Yuna to play games.

Emily was addicted to these games. When he began, he did not stop until Rowdy came back in the evening. Seeing Rowdy frown at him, he put down the game equipment reluctantly.

Rowdy looked around the living room and found the surroundings festooned with red Spring Festival decorations. He looked at Emily and asked, "Did you and Auntie Yuna do these?"

Emily thought for a moment, shook his head, and answered, "Those uncles helped us. Auntie Yuna and I... spent more time playing games."

It was only now that Yuna realised what a straight person he was.

"Auntie Yuna hasn't recovered yet. You're not allowed to play games for too long." Rowdy scolded Emily and then looked at Yuna. "Yuna, come to the study with me. I have something to tell you."

"Okay."

Yuna responded and put down the game equipment, then followed Rowdy upstairs.

If she remembered correctly, nothing unusual had occurred during the past two days. Why would Rowdy want to talk to her privately?

Yuna was still confused when she entered the study.

When Rowdy saw the blank look on Yuna's face, he motioned for her to sit down and said softly, "Don't be nervous. It's nothing serious. I just want to tell you that Joanne is secretly making preparations for Gavin and Wendy's wedding ceremony."

Yuna was stunned and asked subconsciously, "If it's a secret, how did you know?"

Rowdy replied honestly, "I have been monitoring Brian and Wesley. Nothing can escape my eyes."

"So?" Yuna was still puzzled. "Will their wedding impact us?"

"It won't. But it should be a happy event for Brian and Wesley." Rowdy paused for a moment, and a sinister look flashed across his eyes. "However, I don't want them to be happy."

In other words, he wanted to ruin Gavin and Wendy's wedding.

"No!" Yuna subconsciously refused. "Gavin should be undergoing an operation soon, so Wendy wants to marry him before that. You can't ruin their wedding. It's very important to them!"

Rowdy glanced at Yuna in surprise and said sharply, "You're not close to Gavin and Wendy. Why are you so worked up?"

"It doesn't matter whether I'm close to them or not!" Yuna didn't hold back at all. The more she said, the more agitated she became. "Wendy is a very good girl. She should be happy, and she deserves to be happy! I won't allow you to ruin their wedding!"

"Since you're pleading on their behalf, I can promise you I will not ruin their wedding." After a pause, Rowdy continued, "But, if I do something else on that day, you can't stop me anymore."

Rowdy agreed so readily that Yuna couldn't react. It wasn't until she heard his last sentence that she suddenly understood-

From the beginning, Rowdy did not have any intention to ruin Gavin and Wendy's wedding.

Brian and Joanne must attach great importance to this wedding. They would make comprehensive security arrangements.

It would not be easy for Rowdy to ruin the wedding.

Besides, ruining the wedding would do nothing but merely annoy Brian.

Rowdy never did meaningless things.

Therefore, he had other plans from the very beginning!

Rowdy anticipated that she would stop him from trying to ruin the wedding. So he deliberately mentioned that and promised he would not when she was against the idea. In this way, it would be easy for him to issue the second condition.

In this case, she would not be able to ask him for anything else and could only allow him to do whatever he wanted.

This was Rowdy's trick that he had used several times and each time she would be fooled.

Yuna knew that no matter what she said now, she could not stop Rowdy.

She swallowed hard and said, "Then you should at least tell me what you are going to do on the day."

"I'm sorry." Rowdy stood up and leaned over. He whispered in Yuna's ear, "Yuna, I won't tell you."

Yuna was speechless and a little angry. She complained, "If so, you shouldn't have told me from the beginning!"

Rowdy seemed to smile, but there was no expression on his face. "I just didn't expect that you care so much about Gavin and Wendy," he said.

Yuna knew what Rowdy wanted to hear.

She smiled and said frankly, "I do care about them. Do you know what I was thinking when you told me about their wedding? I was thinking that it would be great if I could attend."

The smile on Rowdy's face froze. "Yuna!" he stared at Yuna and growled.

Wesley would definitely be the best man at Gavin and Wendy's wedding.

How could Yuna say she wanted to go!

What would she do if she saw Wesley?

Yuna ignored Rowdy and continued, "But Wesley is in the way. If he is not in this world, I should go to the wedding."

She said this so sincerely that even Rowdy, who was familiar with her, did not know she was probing.

Rowdy thought for a moment and said, "Maybe we can make Wesley disappear from the world before the wedding."

A few minutes ago, when Rowdy said that he would take action on the day of Gavin and Wendy's wedding, Yuna suspected that he was targeting Wesley.

Now it seemed that he was indeed.

Yuna pretended to be calm, and her eyes were full of hatred. "If you can kill Wesley, I'll do anything you ask."

"What if I ask you to marry me?"

Rowdy's request came without any warning. He just wanted to see how Yuna would react.

Yuna was stunned for a second, but she showed no resistance. Instead, a hint of a smile appeared in her eyes. "If I must get married, then you are the best person," she said.

It meant she made Rowdy a promise.

Rowdy caressed Yuna's face and said softly, "Yuna, you don't know how long I've been waiting for this."

After he said this, Rowdy held Yuna's face and lowered his head. He fixed his eyes on her lips...
