Chapter 1051 Please Care for Older Single People

Dolly was worried that Gavin was not prepared for the operation. In fact, she was worried whether the operation would be a success or not.

Once the operation failed, Gavin would leave this world, and they would lose him forever.

Once this tragedy happened, no matter how many regrets Gavin still had, he could not make up for them.

Gavin should know this better than anyone else.

However, he told Dolly that he was not worried about anything.

In other words, he had settled everything and was ready to accept the outcome.

Indeed, Gavin did not have to worry about anyone but Wendy.

A myriad of feelings gradually gathered in Dolly's eyes. It was hard to tell whether she was gratified or worried.

In the end, Dolly nodded with a smile and said, "It's good that you're ready."

After lunch, Dolly said that she was leaving.

Wendy hurriedly stood up and tried to persuade Dolly to stay. "Mom, won't you stay with us for a while longer?"

Dolly had been away for a long time, and she had only been with them for less than half a day. Wendy hoped that she could stay a little longer.

"No, I'll be here tomorrow," Dolly said with a smile, "and I want to go to Prime Villas to see your aunt, Aiden, and Romy. The two babies should have grown a lot."

"Yes, they're getting lovelier by the day!" Wendy thought of Iris's kidnapping some time ago, and then said, "Mom, it's a good idea to visit Aunt Iris. She had an accident before, and now she's staying with my cousin-in-law for the time being."

"I heard from Chris on my way back." Dolly picked up her bag. "I'm leaving."

Gavin arranged for the driver to send Dolly and Wendy went with him to the parking lot.

Seeing Dolly's car drive away, Gavin and Wendy turned around and walked to the inpatient building.

On the way, Wendy suddenly remembered something and grabbed Gavin. She suddenly jumped in front of him like a little monkey and said, "Stop! You have to clarify what you said earlier!"

Gavin stood still, put his hands into his pockets leisurely, and asked deliberately, "What did I say?"

"Don't pretend!" Wendy looked at Gavin seriously. "What do you mean by saying that you are not worried about me?"

"..." Gavin raised his eyebrows and remained silent, with an unfathomable look.

Wendy became even more anxious. She jumped up and down like a little monkey and said, "I'll give you one chance. Explain it to me now!"

Gavin looked at Wendy and vaguely felt that if he did not make it clear, the little girl would explode.

He reached out, pressed Wendy's head, and easily held her in place.

Wendy struggled wildly, only to find that Gavin's hand seemed to be glued to her head. She could not get rid of it at all.

She became even more furious and screamed, "Let me go!"

Gavin looked at Wendy helplessly and said, "Wendy, I may have others on my mind, but..."

Wendy interrupted directly, "Do you mean that I'm not as important as others to you?"

Gavin felt even more helpless. He released Wendy, gazed at her, and said, "Wendy, you will always be in my heart."

He did not need to have her on his mind, because Wendy would forever be the most important person in his heart.

It took Wendy a long time to understand what Gavin meant. She looked at him in a daze with reddened eyes, but smiled broadly.

She suddenly threw herself into Gavin's arms, hugged him, and pressed her face against Gavin's chest without saying a word.

At this moment, she did not have to say anything.

Gavin also gently wrapped his arms around Wendy, as if he were cuddling a peerless treasure. He lowered his head and kissed her on the top of her head.

At this moment, Gavin's profile and eyes were full of tenderness and affection.

A gust of cold wind blew over. Gavin and Wendy tacitly hugged each other tighter. They did not intend to separate or move at all.

Seeing that, Noah really felt speechless. He shouted from a distance, "Enough! Hurry back to the suite! That little girl, that patient, don't stay too long in the cold wind. Don't you care about your health?"

Wendy looked in the direction of the sound and saw Noah standing there with his hands on his hips and looking displeased.

Although she was usually bold, she felt a little embarrassed at this time. She could not help burrowing herself in Gavin's arms like a little squirrel.

Gavin touched Wendy's head and comforted her in a low voice. "Don't be afraid. Noah is just jealous of us, for he can't handle Hazel."

Wendy thought about Gavin's words and suddenly felt that it was possible.

She looked up at Gavin and said, "Doctor Sanchez is old enough, but he is still single. He really must be pitied."

Gavin took Wendy's hand and said, "Let's go and care for the older single man."

Wendy followed Gavin and finally stopped in front of Noah, who was half a head taller than her. There was a hint of pity in her almond-shaped eyes.

The more Noah looked into Wendy's eyes, the more he felt that something was wrong. He was confused and asked, "Wendy, what's wrong?"

Wendy gave Noah a comforting look and said, "I've met Hazel several times. Although she looks cool, she is actually a nice girl who has a soft heart. If you hurt her before, she will forgive you as long as you sincerely apologize to her."

Noah could not figure out why Wendy suddenly brought up Hazel's name.

The corners of his mouth twitched. "And then?"

Wendy said seriously, "Well, then you and Hazel can also have a romantic embrace in the cold wind!"

Only then did Noah realize that Wendy thought that he had shouted just now because he was jealous of her and Gavin.

For a moment, Noah could neither cry nor laugh. He looked at Wendy with a strange expression and said, "I said..."

Wendy extended her palm and told Noah, "You don't have to say anything!" Then she patted Noah on the shoulder. "If you can't handle Hazel, you're welcome to come to me for help. I will be happy to help you!"

"..." Noah looked at Gavin speechlessly, as if trying to get an answer from him.

Gavin just smiled and said, "Wendy is really happy to help you. You don't have to thank me. We'll go back now."

After that, Gavin held Wendy's hand and walked to the inpatient building.

Watching them leave, Noah suddenly understood how it felt to witness others' public display of affection. He was completely frustrated as he stood in the cold wind.

After entering the elevator, Wendy finally could not help laughing out loud. She looked at Gavin without any guilt. "Did we go too far... by treating Dr. Sanchez like this?"

Gavin smiled and said calmly, "He is the only single person among us. Why should we not treat him like this?"

Wendy thought for a moment and felt that what Gavin said was reasonable. She nodded in agreement.

Gavin ruffled Wendy's hair and looked at her. The two then burst into laughter.

The days passed and soon, it was New Year's Eve.

Wendy was extremely excited the moment she woke up. She packed their bags as fast as she could, and soon Gavin woke up.

Wendy jumped onto the bed and looked at Gavin. "Get up and change your clothes. Then we can leave the hospital to celebrate the Spring Festival!"

Gavin sat up, lifted the quilt, and touched Wendy's head. "Will your father be flying into Arlington today?"

"Yes." Wendy nodded, and she beamed broadly. "Let's take the bags home first, and then I'll pick my father up at the airport. The timing is good!"

Gavin knew that Wendy had a good relationship with her adoptive father, but she had not seen him since she came to Arlington.

She probably could not wait any longer.

In order to let Wendy see Conor as soon as possible, Gavin did not delay any longer. He got out of bed and washed up. After breakfast, he took Wendy directly back to the apartment.

When they arrived at the apartment building, Wendy did not go upstairs. She wanted to go straight to the airport to pick Conor up.

Gavin did not get out of the car immediately. He looked at Wendy and asked, "Shall I go with you?"

"No need. The airport is so far away. You can rest at home and book a restaurant. After I pick up my father, I'll take him directly to the restaurant. Let's meet there!" Wendy kissed Gavin on the cheek, with a beaming smile on her beautiful face. "Well, get out of the car."

Gavin smiled and got out of the car. He watched Wendy's car drive away before walking in to his apartment.

In the car, Wendy urged the driver, "Sir, please try and speed up. My father's plane is about to land."

The driver understood Wendy's mood. He smiled, stepped on the accelerator, got on the highway, and drove Wendy to the airport as fast as he could.

After getting out of the car, Wendy practically rushed into the airport. When she took a look at the flight information screen, she found that Conor's flight had already landed five minutes ago.

Wendy did not delay any longer and ran straight to the arrival gate.

It was New Year's Eve today, so the arrival gate was crowded with people. Wendy nimbly pushed her way to the front of the crowd. Before she could find Conor, she heard a familiar voice calling her, "Wendy, Dad is here."

The resounding voice had accompanied Wendy throughout her growing years. She looked in the direction of the voice and saw Conor smiling at her in the crowd.

Wendy looked at Conor's familiar face and felt a gush of warmth in her heart, which eventually spread to her eyes.

She subconsciously walked toward Conor. As the latter released his luggage, she hugged him. "Dad!"

"Hey!" Conor smiled and patted Wendy on the back. "Daddy is here."

Wendy burst into tears and began to sob. "Dad..."

"It's okay now." Conor held Wendy with one hand and patted her on the back with the other hand. He comforted her and said, "Daddy is here to accompany you."

Instead of stopping, Wendy shed even more tears...
