Chapter 106 Lost in Salsa

She felt little hot between her eyebrows where he kissed.

Somehow, the heat managed to find its way to her cheeks. For quite a while, Joanne was dazed in the spot.

When the guests and employees warmly invited Brian, they naturally fell their eyes upon them. The moment he kissed her-it must have been seen.

Though all the media were writing stories about how much they were in love, the most affectionate action they had displayed was holding hands. However, this time... alas, how embarrassing!

Nevertheless, in others' eyes, Joanne was the happiest wife on the planet right now-

Her cheeks were red like a shy young girl's. Her eyes were shining bright and were closely chasing after nobody's but Brian's figure. She was exactly the kind of happy wife who was deeply in love with her hubby.

Maybe it had something to do with her gown. Right now, she looked like a blooming white rose in the valley, pretty and pure. This kind of temptation made people desire but find it too holy to touch.

Only Brian deserved her. Only Brian could pick such a flower.

Freya approached her silently. "Tut tut, I've seen it all."

In the whole wide world, Joanne was only immune to Freya's sarcasm. She said casually, "Many saw it."

"Well, good girl." Freya was surprised hearing Joanne's answer. "You've really spent some time with Brian, right?"

Joanne smiled and fell her eyes on Brian, who had just stepped on the stage and the host was lifting up the mic for him.

During this session, a few media were allowed to take photos. Cameras were flashing but no sound could be heard. Like Joanne, everyone's eyes were fixed on Brian.

He was already attractive enough by simply standing there without a single gesture or word as if he were their god.

Brian was the one that had that kind of charisma-to convince the entire world.

Moreover, in Su Jian's eyes, Brian's handsomeness had risen to a new level. It was indeed difficult to change her mind if she had fallen in love with someone like him.

Freya whispered, "If I had known Brian before your bother, I might have fallen for him too! He's purely out of this world..."

"It's too late." Joanne was so proud to hear that even her eyes and eyebrows were dancing with joy. "He's already mine. You'd better put in some time to chase after my brother."

Subconsciously, Freya gazed at Chris. He and Maya were standing somewhere not far away. Maya was acting like a coy girlfriend, which Freya found really irritating.

"Forget it." She added unhappily, "I might as well listen to our Mr. Brian's speech."

Several schools had invited Brian to give a speech but were all refused, because he never talked much on stage.

He simply thanked the guests and employees for spending their time in Lambert Group' anniversary celebration. He appreciated the employee's hard work and summarized the company's achievements last year. He announced some changes in the reward and punishment system, which increased the employee's annual bonus-He said all of those with his attractive voice and received a round of applause and cheers when he announced the last matter.

Joanne had worked in his company for a few days and knew that people in Lambert Group actually were in awe of him. He was not the nice kind of boss, and he looked more ferocious than anyone on earth when his face fell.

However, she also got the feeling that everyone in the company actually trusted and worshipped Brian. Under his leadership, everyone was energetic. Even the middle-aged mid-level managers were also open-minded and motivated, sometimes prudent and sometimes as hot-blooded as young men.

Brian might not be an easy-going boss, but he was definitely a good manager.

His speech ended in a round of applause louder than that in the beginning. When Su Jian realized the speech was over, Brian was already standing before her, inviting her for a dance.

Right, they were supposed to the opening dance.

She put her hand on Brian's. Others stepped back to leave the room for their dance.

"How do your hand feel?" Brian asked her.

Joanne smiled. "I've applied the ointment this morning. I can dance!"

"Aren't you nervous?"

"Who should I?" Joanne winked and asked in reply, "We're all very close. You can ask them for yourself."

She was Mrs. Lambert now and everyone would nod at her words even if it was not true.

She could be smart sometimes. Brian could not help smiling. Then, melodious Waltz sounded. He held Joanne and danced the way they did at home.

Joanne had just learned the dance and had not danced for a few days. He thought her dance would at least be rusty. However, she was much smarter than he had imagined. Actually, she danced well from the beginning. Moreover, she was not afraid of others' watching, completely different from the female employees who danced with him.

He really taught her well.

In the audience's eyes, there was no better opening dance than this one.

If Brian's and Joanne's beauty could build a mountain, they would build one like Mount Qomolangma. What was even more pleasing to the eye was the way they looked at each other when their eyes met. Moreover, there was so much chemistry between them when they danced that they seemed to have known each other the moment they were born.

"I don't believe that they jumped to marriage." Someone said, "Look at the chemistry! They must have been dating for years."

"Years?" Someone laughed. "Haven't you heard? They met more than 10 years ago. They're childhood sweethearts, alright?"

They lowered their voices. "In that way, there's really nothing between Brian and Rosalyn. Rosalyn has been hyping those stories to publicize herself."

"There is none from the beginning. Once Brian bought a piece of diamond jewelry, the fans immediately claimed that it was for their idol. Such things were a lot! But think about it, when did Brian comment on their stories? It was Rosalyn who has been misleading the media all along."

"Ah, how much Diva Han's face would hurt from embarrassment...!

Rosalyn was standing in the dark corner at the back, hearing all the gossip about her word by word.

They guessed it right. All these years, she was the one who had been acting to mislead everyone and even told the media in the know to not spill the beans.

Now that the truth was being uncovered by Joanne bit by bit, people could make fun of her if they wanted to. Their words were so harsh that they hurt like knives.

She wouldn't admit defeat like this.

She would divert all the knives and stabbed back at Joanne one by one.

Just then, the music stopped and the opening dance ended as well.

Then, another piece of Waltz sounded. Rosalyn smoothed her dress and stepped under the spotlight. Soon, somebody invited her for a dance and she gracefully accepted and danced with other ladies. Her fame and good look made her very conspicuous in the crowd.

Maya wanted to dance as well and tugged at Chris. "Shall we?"

Chris only paused for a second and held out his hand. Then, Maya elegantly put her hand into his. They were almost the most eye-catching couple on the dance floor.

Seeing them, Freya chewed her beef hard to blow off some steam.

Travis took away her plate. "You'll record your weight tomorrow. For crying out loud, you eat the most tonight."

"Because I'm the most upset one tonight!" Freya bitterly said.

"How about a dance with me?" Travis smiled invitingly. "If Chris could dance with other women, why can't you dance close to me?"

Freya wiped the corner of her lips. "Dance close to you?"

"Waltz has no passion at all." Travis smiled mysteriously. "I'll go check with the backstage. Wait for the next one!"

After that, Travis ran away. Freya sipped on a glass of fruit wine. Alright, she kind of wondered what music he would put on.

Some were busy dancing, while some were talking about business cooperations. The idlest ones turned out to be Brian and Joanne. From time to time, someone would come to propose a toast. Seeing Brian gulped down a couple of wines, Joanne asked concerned, "Won't you get drunk?"

Brian paused and resumed. "I might be tonight."

Joanne did not read the deeper meaning in his words. Just then, the host of the anniversary celebration walked over, and even Brian could sense the uncommon sparks in her eyes.

Someone squinted. "You like him?"

"Yes!" Su Jian nodded firmly. "Except Watson, he's my favoriate male celebrity!"

Watson was the hero of the movie that she dragged Brian to last time.

"He could have sold his face, but he's now completely lying on his talent!" Joanne was getting more and more excited. "I want a picture with him!"

Brian sounded sullen. "You wish!"

Joanne asked bitterly, "Why?"

Brian held her waist in an enormously tender way. "On such an occasion, it doesn't match your status. Next time, alright?"

Joanne thought it made sense and nodded obediently.

In fact, Brian would never give her the chance to see the host again. He lied to her. As for the reason-they did not even have a picture, and yet she wanted a picture with another man? In her dreams!

Therefore, Joanne missed a once-in-a-lifetime chance.

The ballroom was melodious and the atmosphere was relaxing. Brian was wearing a little smile, while Joanne was totally unaware that she was neglected.

Soon, the Waltz's ending note fell, and Travis also came back. He gave Freya an ambiguous look to stir her expectation and made her wonder more what was in his potion.

Two minutes later, passionate salsa rang.

Like the music, the salsa dance was also passionate and direct, wanting to stir everyone's emotions.

Salsa was Freya's favorite. She liked to do aerobic salsa in her spare time, and Travis liked to dance close to girls on the dancefloor.

They found a hobby in common and did it together more than once, and every time they enjoyed it very much.

As expected, Freya covered her mouth before she barely screamed, and then she looked at Travis in surprise.

Travis looked at her up and down. "In this dress, you'll make a lot of men fall for you, and I'll be your first victim."

"Don't sweet-talk me with your tricks on those girls."

Before Freya could finish, she was dragged into the dancefloor by Travis. He slovenly caressed the edge of her cheek. "Freya, I can make you forget Chris. We have hobbies in common and our personalities are the same. We are a perfect couple. You love him, but he can't give you the complete happiness you want."

Freya was distracted and was dragged onto the dance floor by Travis. She was fast and had the chemistry with Travis, thus they soon danced really well together.

Unrestrained salsa outdid moderate Waltz in terms of stirring emotion, plus the couple of Freya and Travis was very conspicuous. The audience became much more excited, and even Joanne dragged Brian near the dance floor. Then, she spotted Chris on the opposite.

"Does he feel a little jealousy?"
