Chapter 1064 This Is Love

"We can have another child... right now."

As soon as Brian finished speaking, he suddenly picked Joanne up before she could react.

"Ah!"

Joanne screamed and struggled subconsciously. When she came to her senses, Brian had already pressed her down on the bed.

She looked at Brian dazedly. After a while, she finally realized that Brian had said that they could have another child right now.

If she told Iris that she was pregnant again, Iris would be over the moon.

But... wasn't this too soon?

Joanne struggled again and was about to protest when Brian's kisses rushed over her like a tide and formed a whirlpool.

She was pulled into the whirlpool by Brian and sank into it with him. She could no longer resist...

Outside the window, the fireworks were dazzling.

Inside the room, the flames of love were equally dazzling.

The next morning, Joanne was woken up by Brian.

Brian's deep voice was full of satisfaction and tenderness. "Joanne, we should get up and prepare for Gavin and Wendy's wedding."

Joanne could hear Brian, but she did not want to talk to him.

She forgot how she had fallen asleep last night.

Now, she only knew that she was very sleepy.

Joanne turned over, pulled up the quilt, and shrank under the quilt, trying to keep out all the sounds.

Brian was more patient than ever. He lifted the quilt slightly and whispered in Joanne's ear, "We have something very important to do today. If you don't get up now, we will be late."

Joanne also knew that Gavin and Wendy's affair was very important and she could not really laze about in bed today.

She suddenly lifted the quilt, opened her eyes, and looked at Brian with resentment. "It's all your fault if we're late!"

Brian laughed in a low voice, and his voice was filled with infinite tolerance. "Okay, it's all my fault." Then he hugged Joanne and asked in a low voice, "Shall I pick you up?"

Having been married for so long, Joanne understood what he meant.

It was not a wise decision for her to have any intimate contact with Brian, especially during special times, like in the morning and in the evening...

Otherwise, their desire would easily spiral out of control.

Brian's hug was naturally within the scope of intimate contact.

Joanne shook her head and decisively slid off the bed. "I can get up by myself!"

Seeing Joanne trying to run away, Brian could not help smiling slightly. He got out of bed and followed her into the bathroom.

Joanne was already brushing her teeth, and the sound of the electric toothbrush buzzing away filled the bathroom.

There was already some toothpaste on Brian's toothbrush.

He walked over and picked up the toothbrush, but he just held it in his hand and looked at Joanne in the mirror.

Joanne was confused by Brian's gaze. She suppressed the uneasiness in her heart and looked at him. "What's wrong?"

Brian replied, "You don't have to take what Mom said at dinner last night seriously."

Joanne was in a daze. After thinking for a while, she realized that Brian was talking about them having another child.

When they had their New Year's Eve dinner last night, Iris inadvertently mentioned that they could have another child, but Brian directly told the old lady that they were not going to have another child.

Iris just said that it was up to them and did not say anything else.

Joanne breathed a sigh of relief. At the same time, she was worried if the old lady would be very disappointed.

But now, Brian said that she did not need to take the old lady's words seriously.

"Is it really... OK?"

Brian caressed Joanne's hair and comforted her softly. "For this kind of thing, Mom will respect our decisions, just like what she said yesterday."

Of course, Joanne still remembered what the old lady had said later.

Yesterday, the old lady had specially told them that they could decide on how many children they wanted and how they would bring up their children.

Because they were younger and could keep up with the pace of the times. Her only responsibility was to enjoy her late years.

At that moment, Joanne had to admit that she was touched.

Because the old lady was open-minded, and more importantly, the old lady valued happiness most.

Joanne washed her face, then looked at Brian, and said, "In fact, I hope that Mom doesn't worry about us. I hope that she can live her life freely. She can travel or relax. Whenever she misses us, she can come back to see us. As for the problems and difficulties that we need to face, she doesn't have to keep them in mind at all."

Brian looked at Joanne for a moment and suddenly asked, "Joanne, how do you want to live when we get old?"

Joanne's eyes lit up, and she said without hesitation, "I'm going to do something I didn't have time to do when I was young! If I really have nothing to do, I'll go travel around the world!"

Brian raised his eyebrows and asked, "What about Aiden and Romy? Are you going to leave them alone?"

"When I get old, they'll grow up and have their own lives." Joanne shook her head. "I won't interfere in their lives. I want to do what I want to do!"

Brian smiled and rubbed Joanne's head. "When we get old, I will accompany you."

Joanne admitted that her decision was a little "wayward" in her old age.

However, Brian did not reprimand her. Instead, he said that he would accompany her.

It would be a lie if she said that she was not touched.

She reached out her hand and pretended to make a pinky swear with Brian. "At this time, I think it's necessary for me to learn from Wendy. You said that you would accompany me in the future, and if you break your promise, you are a puppy!"

Brian hooked Joanne's finger tightly, as if he were agreeing to her request.

After a while, Brian let go of Joanne's hand and said, "Get ready as soon as possible. Gavin and Wendy's wedding will be at 11 o'clock."

"Well, okay!"

Joanne soon washed up and pulled Brian downstairs.

There was a tradition in Arlington. On the morning of the first day of the New Year, the old needed to prepare breakfast for the whole family.

Iris got up early. When Joanne and Brian went downstairs, breakfast was already on the table.

Joanne was as energetic as ever. She walked over and greeted Iris sweetly. "Mom, happy New Year."

Iris handed Brian and Joanne a red packet respectively and said, "Happy New Year. Good luck in the year ahead."

Joanne took the red packet and was a little stunned.

Since her mother passed away, she had only received red packets from Chris on the first day of the New Year.

After so many years, Iris was the second person to give her a red packet.

Joanne said with a brilliant smile, "Thank you, Mom."

"Silly girl, it's just a red packet. There's no need to thank me." Iris smiled and continued, "Well, let's have breakfast. After breakfast, you should go to Wendy and Gavin's wedding venue. You can leave Aiden and Romy at home. I'll take care of them and then go to the church at noon."

That was also Joanne's plan. She nodded and quickly finished her breakfast. She stood up and said, "Mom, I'll go upstairs and change first."

Although she said this, the first thing Joanne did after she returned to the room was to open the red packet and examine the new banknotes with great interest.

She did not care how many notes there were in the red packet. She just enjoyed opening red packets.

Brian followed Joanne to the room and did not miss her action. He walked behind her and said, "Do you still think it's fun to open red packets?"

Yes, Brian used the word "still".

It was a very ordinary word, but it revealed the fact that Brian knew that Joanne liked opening red packets.

Hearing Brian's words, Joanne was completely lost in her memories and ignored this detail for a moment.

In Joanne's memory, there were two wonderful events during the Spring Festival.

One was fireworks in the night sky.

The other one was red packets handed to her on the first morning of the New Year.

Watching fireworks was visually stunning, and red packets could fill her childish heart with subtle joy.

Therefore, it was not difficult to answer Brian's question.

Joanne nodded without hesitation, and her eyes were shining. "It's fun!"

Brian smiled, took out the red packet he had prepared earlier and handed it to Joanne.

Joanne's eyes widened. She was even more surprised than when she received Iris's red packet. She looked at Brian blankly and asked, "Why, why did you give me a red packet?"

Brian caressed Joanne's head lovingly. "As long as you like it, I can give you a red packet every Spring Festival."

He did not tell Joanne that he did this because he always remembered one thing.

More than a decade ago, after his father just passed away, he and Iris lived in Joanne's grandmother's old house.

When he and Iris were about to go to America, Iris gave Joanne a red packet.

Iris said that this was the custom of Arlington. Because Joanne was still young, if she gave her a red packet when she left, Joanne could grow up healthily and happily.

Joanne did not know that they were about to leave. She took the red packet and jumped for joy.

Iris was surprised and asked Joanne's mother, "Does Joanne like red packets very much?"

Mrs. Su could not help smiling and explained, "Joanne does not like red packets. She just likes opening red packets."

Iris asked in confusion, "Opening red packets?"

Mrs. Su continued, "Yes, every New Year, what Joanne looks forward most to is receiving and opening red packets. She doesn't care how much money there is in the packet. She just enjoys opening it."

Iris said with a smile, "It's really interesting. Well, in the future, as long as I can see Joanne during the Spring Festival every year, I will definitely give her a red packet!"

Iris still remembered what she had said many years ago, and she indeed did it.

Brian also remembered Joanne's special hobby, so he had long prepared a red packet for her. He handed it to her now just to see her surprised and happy smile.

It turned out that Brian's efforts were not in vain.

Joanne took the red packet, tiptoed, and kissed his lips. "Honey, thank you."

She could more or less guess that Brian was just trying to make her happy.

This was love, when she thought about it.

Because Brian loved her, he wanted her to happy by taking note of every detail of what she liked.
