Kai was worrying over the exact same thing as Brian.
Because Kai had prepared himself for it, he was not afraid that Rowdy might use some tricks.
He was more afraid of the possibility of Rowdy launching a full attack.
No matter how capable he and Wesley were, they were too weak to compete with Rowdy's whole force.
However, Wesley did not allow Kai to bring more bodyguards than usual, who had no choice but only to worry for his Brother Wesley.
As soon as they got out of the hotel, Kai followed Wesley closely, keeping an eye on everything around them.
His subordinate quickly drove their car over. Kai got in almost immediately and opened the door as he said, "After you, Brother Wesley."
As soon as Wesley got seated in the back seat, Kai immediately shut the door. With a bang, the door was tightly closed, followed by the sound of the door being locked.
He did it in a very skillful way without any hesitation.
Milo got in the car from the other side. As soon as he sat down, he asked, "Brother Wesley, where are we going?"
Wesley didn't hesitate much and said calmly, "We'll stick to our plan and do our usuals."
In other words, they would still be doing what they usually did.
In this way, it could prevent Rowdy from suspecting Yuna.
However, it also would also give Rowdy countless opportunities to attack Wesley.
Kai wasn't sure about it and wanted to talk Wesley out of it. "Brother Wesley, you..."
Wesley raised his hand, indicating that Kai didn't need to say anything else.
He had already made up his mind and there was no way that Kai could change it with just a few words.
Although Kai felt unconvinced, he had to give in and handed the tablet to Wesley so that he could take advantage of the time during the ride to deal with his business first.
The car moved at a steady pace. Except for Wesley, everyone in the car was in a state of tension, but they still had to pretend as if nothing had happened.
Thirty minutes later, the car was stopped in front of a bar. Wesley opened the door and got out. He followed the usual agenda and went in to discuss business with someone.
Kai was getting more and more worried, but he could only act as usual and follow Wesley into the bar as a loyal subordinate.
In the bar, Wesley discussed his business as usual, while staying on guard against Rowdy.
Back in the private room, Noah was racking his brain to figure out what games to play.
In fact, playing games was not the key. He just wanted to mess with Gavin and Wendy.
"Although I've said that I'll never make trouble for Gavin and Wendy deliberately ever again, with the guys around here now, I guess many of them would like to mess with the couple.
"I've got my allies, so I'm not afraid!
"Besides, I've been teased so badly before. If I don't take revenge now, when will I get to do it again?"
Wendy knew what Noah was thinking, but she had no fear. She held her chin with both hands and looked at him calmly as she urged him slowly, "Have you made up your mind?"
"Yes!" Noah snapped his fingers. "Let's play a simple game!"
"Sounds cool." Freya hummed unconsciously. "The rules had better be simple."
The gaming atmosphere was instantly destroyed. Song Xiaoqing made a stop gesture and pretended to glare at everyone. "Are we still playing it or not?"
"Yes!" Freya immediately put on a straight face and pretended to be serious. She nodded and then emphasized, "Of course, we are!"
Brian and Chris had never been interested in games. They walked to the bar counter tacitly and sat on the high stools.
After a while, Conor also came over.
He poured himself a glass of wine, picked it up, and said, "Wendy has been well taken care of by you since she came to Arlington. I need to thank you on her behalf."
"Uncle Moore, there's no need for the courtesy." Chris smiled, and there was a little helplessness in his smile. He said, "Wendy... is quite perky, but she also brought us a lot of laughter. She called me cousin, so it's natural for me to take care of her."
Conor took a sip of wine and looked at Wendy, who was sitting on the sofa, with a hint of worry in his eyes.
At this moment, Wendy could still keep smiling and bring laughter to others.
But what would happen after today?
If Gavin lost consciousness all of a sudden, she would need to take care of everything of him as his wife.
Because of the change in her identity, everything she did for him would only be natural.
Of course, that was not what Conor was worrying over.
What he was really worried about was that after Wendy gave herself to Gavin, she would still be let down by him.
"If that happens, will my daughter still smile like the way she does now?"
Brian noticed Conor's worry. He gently swirled the wine glass in his hand and said slowly, "Uncle Moore, I believe that Wendy is ready to face every possibility. I hope that you can also believe in her."
Conor smiled with infinite fatherly love in his eyes.
He nodded. "I've always believed in Wendy."
Brian did not say anything more and looked over to the sofa.
Wendy was having a good time with Joanne and the others. At this moment, there was no trace of sadness on her face.
However, Brian didn't know how long she could keep being happy like this.
He didn't dwell on it, because Wendy was not the only one he needed to worry about.
After a while, he took out his mobile phone and sent a message to Wesley with only a simple sentence.
"How are you doing now?"
Wesley's reply came very soon. Before long, Brian's mobile phone buzzed slightly. He unlocked the screen and saw Wesley's reply.
"Everything is going fine."
Brian put back his phone while a trace of doubt flashed across his mind.
The wedding ceremony between Gavin and Wendy had ended. So far, Rowdy hadn't made a move yet.
In other words, he didn't want to ruin the wedding but just wanted to target Wesley.
Although Gavin and Wendy were safe, relatively speaking, Wesley would be more likely to be in danger.
While Brian was thinking about that, Chris suddenly asked, "What happened to Wesley?"
Brian did not expect that Chris would suddenly get straight to the point. He was slightly stunned and did not respond for a moment.
He was surprised that Chris would actually know something was wrong with Wesley.
"Don't get me wrong." Chris pointed to Brian's mobile phone. "I just accidentally saw your conversation with Wesley." After a pause, he continued, "It seems that he left in a hurry just now for some particular reason?"
Brian thought about it and decided to tell Chris about what happened. In the end, he told him that Wesley left in a hurry because he didn't want to bring trouble to them.
Chris was quite shocked. After all, Wesley had appeared very calm for the entire day.
He didn't expect that there would be a danger behind the calmness.
However, he soon came back to his senses. He glanced at Joanne and asked, "Does Joanne know about this?"
"It's better not to let her know," Brian said, "I don't want her to worry about us."
Chris nodded in understanding. "Don't worry, I won't tell her. But... are you sure Wesley can deal with it by himself?"
Brian pondered for a moment, and there was only calmness and determination in his voice. "Since he has decided to deal with it alone, then I'm sure that he'll get it done."
Chris was still worried. He frowned slightly and said, "What if..."
"There is no 'what if'." Brian interrupted Chris, and his voice became particularly cold and harsh. "There are still many things that he has yet to achieve. No matter what, he can't have anything bad happen to him at this time."
Chris knew that Brian cared about Wesley more than him. Brian's tone suddenly changed because he was worried about Wesley.
He sighed secretly.
He did not know when all of these troubles would end.
Only after all this could Yuna return to their side. Otherwise, Wesley's life would always be missing someone important, which could never be complete.
However, Wesley had said that everything was fine at the moment.
They didn't need to worry yet.
On the sofa, the game was over.
In fact, Noah and Freya hadn't enjoyed it enough, but they had to take Gavin's health into consideration.
Besides, today was the wedding day of Gavin and Wendy.
No matter how fine the groom appeared, they couldn't go too far by taking up too much time from the newly wedded couple.
If Gavin couldn't take it and fell down, things would get serious.
Freya seemed to be still immersed in the game. She clapped and then stood up with her hands on her waist. "Well, we'll let go of Gavin and Wendy for the time being, but we will have it twice as much in the future!"
Noah stretched and said, "Hear, hear!"
Wendy was also concerned about Gavin's health, but she still pretended to be relaxed. She tilted her head and said, "Since you guys have said so, we won't hold back either. But now we'll go back first. See you next time!"
Noah waved his hand. "See you."
Gavin took Wendy to say goodbye to everyone and then left the hotel.
Winston was smoking in the car. He picked up the phone and heard that Gavin and Wendy were ready to leave. He quickly nipped the cigarette and opened the window to get some fresh air into the car. Less than half a minute later, he saw Gavin and Wendy coming out of the hotel.
He almost got out of the car at once and asked as soon as Gavin approached, "Gavin, how do you feel? Are you all right?"
"I'm fine." Gavin smiled and tried to present his best. "Winston, you don't need to worry about me."
"Great then." Winston patted Gavin's shoulder as if he were facing an old friend. "Shall I send you back to your apartment?"
"Yes." Gavin nodded. "Sorry to trouble you."
"What's the courtesy for?" Winston opened the door and said, "Come get in."
The hotel was not far from Gavin's apartment. In less than 15 minutes, Winston had taken the couple to the apartment building.
Wendy pushed the car door open and ran to the driver's seat. She smiled at Winston in the car and said, "Winston, thank you for what you did today. Gavin and I will go upstairs now. See you."
"Okay, see you." Winston smiled, then lowered his voice and said, "Wendy, take good care of Gavin."
