Chapter 108 Its Enough When I Love You

His attractive and deep voice carried a force that could calm people down.

His chest was strong and warm, the best haven on earth.

Joanne's eyes suddenly became a little hot.

She could go through the hard days and turned them into a funny subject of talking. When she remembered the old days with Freya, they would always laugh at their courage at that time.

However, why did she want to cry in Brian's arms?

After all these years, the hardships that she had endured were enormously zoomed in on. The place where her heart was felt astringent but soft, as if her heart was being soaked in a glass of lemonade. It was sour but sweet at the same time.

Brian looked at her red eyes and brushed her cheeks with his finger tips.

Joanne thought Brian was going to comfort her. However, he turned out to say, "If the journalists see this, they'll think I'm bullying you."

She chuckled with tears on her face. She winked hard to suppress the tears. "You're always bullying me!"

Brian was curious. "Well? When?"

"When we were young, and so many other times! You're always fooling me and said I'm stupid!" Joanne kept saying, "When I was a little girl, everyone said I was a smart girl, only you called me stupid!"

Sometimes when Chris called her stupid too, but he was really caring about her and trying to feel the way she did.

Then what about Brian?

"Because you're really are stupid." He stabbed another knife in her wound slowly.

He sounded just like Chris. Joanne dived herself into Brian's arms and buried her face before her chest. "Brian, I don't like you at all."

She leaned against his chest like a wronged animal and complained in a nasal voice. Brian knew that her eyes must turn red again and she did not mean what she said. He cuddled her like comforting a child. "It's OK, as long as I like you."

If Joanne heard these words that sounded like a love confession in the past, her heart would definitely start racing. However, could Brian really... say something like that so easily?

There, he must be saying something against his hear as she did.

She wiped the corner of her eyes and scrambled up from his chest. Her gaze secretly swept around and there was no journalist around. Then, she finally felt relieved, but then she soon felt embarrassed-What was wrong with her just now? Why did she dive into Brian's arms?

She looked up and met Brian's deep eyes. She was lost in thought at that moment. Brian stroked her head. "Joanne, sometimes I really don't what to do with you."

She was stubborn yet delicate, and she had the power to capture his heart with her words and gestures. He really did not know what to do with her. She had completely disrupted his plan so easily.

Joanne did not hide her pride when she made Brian look like that. "That's exactly what I'm going for, you can think of a solution in the future!"

It was better if he could be thinking about it every day. When he went abroad, 10-year-old Joanne had been missing him every day.

"Mrs. Lambert, you've grown bold." In Brian's eyes, helpless turned into danger. "Weren't you afraid of me back then?"

When they first got married, Joanne was indeed in awe of him like those of his subordinates did. Nevertheless... since when did she shake off the feeling and start to piss him off?

She could not recall.

She really got rid of the feeling. To prove that, she snickered and stroked the tiger's whiskers again. "That's not true. I've never been afraid of you!"

Brian squinted and pulled back the person who was about to escape. "Look how I'll punish you."

Joanne winked and smiled from ear to ear. "I said I'm not afraid of you!"

She was like a nimble deer and could escape from his arms any time. Brian could not help hold her tighter. Seeing her slim and white neck before him, he wanted to nibble it.

In the end, he stopped the urge because of the audience, and someone came.

Freya was biting the edge of her Champagne Cup. "Excuse me for interrupting you, but do you happen to know where Chris is?"

She had looked for him in the entire ballroom and the outside garden, but in vain. Maya was also absent as well. Thus, she had to ask the sweet couple.

Joanne paused and continued, "I saw him leaving with Maya, but I don't where they are."

Freya looked up at the sky and sighed. "Of course."

She suddenly wanted to leave Joanne and Brian alone, so she walked away smilingly.

Dressed-up people filled the huge ballroom, and all the couples resembled Joanne and Brian, making people feel sweet by only looking at them.

For some unknown reason, Freya felt tired. Having seen Chris's so many different girlfriends, her eyes even felt tired. She felt that kind of helplessness in her heart and wanted to find a place to hide.

She took the elevator to the 10th floor.

Gavin said Brian had a private room there, so no one should be disturbing her there.

However, when she pushed open the door, a strong smell of smoke rushed out. She was dazed and saw the tall slim figure before French windows. She was so familiar with the owner of the figure that even the way he looked when he smoked was engraved in her mind.

His coat was casually laid on the sofa and there were already plenty of cigarette butts in the ashtray. How long had he been here? Was Maya here as well?

Chris did not expect to see Freya here. He pushed open the windows to let fresh air in. He looked at her and frowned. "Why are you here?"

"I wanted to have a rest." Freya shrugged. "I don't know you're here. I'll leave right now."

This was the first time that she had not asked if he had a new girlfriend or tried to stop him from bringing a new girl.

She seemed to really have let it go.

Chris suddenly stormed, pulled Freya back lightning-fast and slammed the door close. "Who are you going to run to? Travis?"

Freya was feeling absurd. "So what if I run to Travis?"

His chest heaved slightly. "Freya, he's not good for you." He even found it hard to believe that he had actually said something like that to Freya.

However, Freya knew about Travis. She snickered. "Right, he's not good for me. He drinks, smokes cigarettes and weeds, and his girlfriends are more than my hair. But what does that have anything to do with you? You like drinking and changing girlfriends too, how can you badCmouth him?"

Chris suddenly sneered. "You're defending him."

"He's my friend. Or should I be defending you?" Freya turned away her eyes to avoid Chris. "Didn't you hate it when I was around you? I said that I'll let you go when you're married. Well, it looks like that I might be the one to get married first. So don't worry. I seldom came to you these days, right?"

It was true that she did not come to him recently. Instead, she was always seen with Travis in restaurants and cafes. Rumored had it that she and Travis might walk down the aisle soon.

Chris knew that and felt nothing when he heard them. However, hearing these from her personally, his chest was suddenly infused with fury.

Maybe the fury had resided there long ago and he had been suppressing and controlling it. Now, hearing Freya's casual tone and that she might get married first, the spark inside him soon expanded to a wildfire.

It was the second time that he had touched her lips. This time, he took the initiative. Or, she could say that he forced her.

His kiss was like pouring rain, hasty and wild. It was really different from his usual gentlemen style. He held Freya's slim waist tightly and pulled her towards him. She could not move an inch.

Freya did not expect Chris would turn into an animal. He used too much force with his hand. She felt as if her waist was about to break.

She grumbled to protest, but added fuel to the fire accidentally.

He kissed harder and bit her lips. He tried to drown all of her voices, as if he really hated her mouth. He was taking over her lips without reservation.

The scene he saw crossed his mind-Travis was holding her and touched her in an ambiguous way. She actually smiled that enchantingly too in his arms.

His right hand reached her dress's zip.

Travis touched this dress, and she could not wear it anymore. Where else did Travis touch on her?

He suddenly let go of Freya's lips. He leaned his forehead against hers. "You and he danced so well. What have you done together?"

Freya had never seen Chris like this. Though they were intimate now, she felt as if Chris was about to swallow her. She was not afraid, but she was no match for him.

She smiled and caressed his lips. "You and Maya danced the waltz so well too. Don't tell me that you haven't slept together."

Did she mean that they had done everything that was supposed to be done?

"Last time when I saw you in robe, you two were real, right?"

Chris brought up something that happened several months ago for no reason. Freya thought he forgot about it long ago, but he did not. Apparently, it was also a time bomb buried in his heart.

Now, the bomb was finally set off.

Before she could answer, Chris seized her lips again by intense and violent kisses, leaving her barely unable to breathe.

Freya was even less experienced than Joanne in kissing now, let alone Chris. Her chest was heaving heavingly and she was sure that Chris was going to kiss her to death.

"How did she piss him off? In the past, he would tell her to go away if he was mad. What's he thinking right now?"

She could not push him away. The harder she pushed, the harder he dragged his dress. Fortunately, the dress was slim fit, otherwise, it would have slipped off her long ago. She could only let him.

She made up her mind. Slap! Freya slapped Chris in the face.

No, she did not want to.

In the past, she used ways and methods to seduce him, and he was the best thing that she could never have. However, she did not want it now.

How could she give herself to him without a proper reason?

This was the first time that Chris had been slapped in the face. He was dazed and seemed shocked. Then, the hate and anger in his eyes subsided. Looking at Freya, he only had obscure complexity in his eyes.

Freya zipped her dress, wiped the corner of her mouth and twisted around to leave.

Chris did not stop her. He could still smell her fragrance in the air, the oriental Coco Mademoiselle Eau de Toilette. She seemed to wear the perfume long ago.

The familiar scent was like a fuse, like ink spreading on ice paper. He suddenly remembered so many things, young and immature Freya, her unyielding eyes, and so many other things about her...
