Chapter 109 He's with Maya in the Hotel

It turned out that time had flown by. He and Freya had been tangled for more than 10 years.

He remembered when he first saw her, she did not wear that feminine wavy hair, nor did she knew what coquetry was. She was not that charming back then, and when she walked, her ponytail would sway in the air. She had always been a tomboy.

She looked at him with the eyes of a deer and said, "You look pretty." Then, she started to pester him.

She was only in her teens and as immature as Joanne in his eyes. When she said something like "I love you and I'm going to marry you", he thought she was merely joking.

He did not expect that she meant it, and she had always been like that all these years.

It was like watching Joanne growing up, he had been watching Freya the same way year after year.

On usual holidays, though she would ask for them, he was never willing to send Freya well-prepared gifts. Only on her birthday every year, he would buy or have his secretary get her a gift. Sometimes it was an expensive luxury, and sometimes a delicate trinket. He would have them all carefully-packaged and send them to her.

He would think to himself. "She's one year older now."

All these years, he actually was waiting for her to grow.

Why?

An answer that would send a chill down his spine crossed his mind. He denied it again and again. No, it was impossible...

He even forgot to say goodbye to Joanne and hastily left the hotel.

Maya had been watching Chris. Seeing him leaving, she followed him into the car. "It's not over yet. Where are you going? Some emergency?"

Chris leaned against the chair and rubbed his temple silently. Maya knew that something might be on his mind. Thus she thought of something. "We should go to the hotel."

He had reserved a long-term suite in a hotel. It was said that he never brought his girlfriends home. He would take them all to the hotel room.

If they went there, their relationship would become steady.

Maya's implication was clear to see. Chris stopped rubbing the temple and his eyes turned gloomy and hard to understand.

In the end, he did not refuse.

In the hotel, Maya took a shower first, and Chris was smoking before the French windows.

Outside the windows was the city's hustle and bustle at night. Streaks of bright lights drew glamorous lines as paintbrushes did. Those lines were like dreams that people put in the city.

The lines suddenly took shape of Freya's smiling face.

He had already brought Maya here, why did he think of her again?

Chris put out the cigarette restlessly and drew the curtains close loudly. Just then, Maya walked out of the bathroom, wrapped in a bath towel. She smiled seeing him closing the curtains.

Her long slim legs, white skin, and coy smile were all stirring him. She walked to him. "I've prepared the clothes for you. Go take a shower."

Chris entered the bathroom and soon splashes of water came. Maya loosened the towel on her and smiled satisfactorily.

People who knew Chris all knew what kind of women he was into. She was trying to act like them to leave not a single chance for Freya.

Now, as expected-Chris was hers.

Maya took out a small bottle of perfume in the bag she carried. She sprayed it in the air and walked gracefully toward it to soak in the wonderful scent. Then, she got on the bed and laid her legs casually and sexily, waiting for Chris to come out.

However, it was the ringing of his phone that came first. Joanne's name was displayed on the screen.

After pausing for a second, she managed to pick up the call. "Hello?"

"... is it Secretary York?" Joanne's voice was full of surprise. "I want to talk to my brother. Where is he?"

"We've left first. Didn't he tell you?" Maya said in a sorrowful tone. "Sorry. He was in a hurry. He's taking a shower now. Should I tell him that you called when he comes out?"

After three full seconds, Joanne finally spoke again. "There's no need. I just couldn't find him in the ballroom."

After that, Joanne hung up the phone. The phone returned to its home screen, and Maya saw the photo of Freya again.

Now, she was not supposed to or in any position to change the photo, but she would not let herself wait for too long.

Just when she put away the phone, Chris came out of the bathroom. He was in a white bathrobe and his usual carefully-done hair slightly scattered now.

However, he still looked handsome as usual, and the casualness made him more approachable.

Maya got out of the bed and took the initiative to wrap her arms around his neck.

Chris looked at the woman before him. A perfect face, a perfect smile, and the filtration well disguised in the smile. He always liked this kind of smart woman.

He did not move, then Maya kissed him first.

"I like you." She finally said it. "I've always liked you. And you don't hate me, right?"

The woman's lips were suitably soft and felt good to kiss. Chris closed his eyes to fall into the coming passion, but he thought of Freya for no reason.

Freya was the most unreasonable girl he had ever met. She was so spoiled that he hated her so much. So was her lips, stubborn and wild. They never seemed to know what docility was.

How would he like her?

Between the thoughts, he held Maya and kissed her. From fast to slow, Maya responded to him cooperatively. Her soft and seemingly boneless hands randomly ran on his body and aroused his sleeping desire easily.

He could really forget Freya now. He took a few steps and pushed slightly, then Maya laid on the bed obediently. The daytime businesswoman had already turned into a cutie.

He liked this kind of women who knew when to behave obediently and knew what he wanted without him saying it.

He would never like someone like Freya!

...

...

In the ballroom of the hotel.

Hanging up the phone, Joanne felt as if she had been dreaming when she was on the phone.

Brian sensed her strange face. "Can't find your brother?"

"He's left." Joanne was dazed. "He's with Maya... in the hotel."

Brian frowned and soon added, "It's normal. You don't need to feel surprised."

"But..." Joanne looked like a flat balloon. "Never mind. We just can't let Freya know it."

"I've heard you."

Freya's voice suddenly rang behind them. Let alone Joanne, even Brian was startled. They both turned around, and Freya was standing behind them at some point.

"Freya..."

Joanne sounded awkward trying to explain but was stopped by Freya. "It's fine. Just like what your Mr. Brian said, it's normal. And, he's brought so many girls to the hotel, and Maya is not even the prettiest."

Freya smiled casually as if she really did not care, but Joanne knew that she was faking it. She could always fake it like it was real.

At last, she waved at Joanne. "I'm leaving."

After that, Freya left the ballroom and directly went to the parking lot to fetch her car.

No matter what, she had to see for herself and asked Chris what this was.

He had just messed with her, and now he just went to the hotel with another woman? Who did Chris think she was? An obsessed woman whom he could push down to solve the problem when he was on?

She did seduce him.

However, she was not that cheap.

The red Ferrari soon drove out of the parking lot and raced directly to the hotel.

Freya had been here many times and was familiar with the routine. Security guards in the front desk knew her as well. Thus, she directly drove the VIP elevator to the top floor.

Chris would never treat himself badly. In such an expensive district, he actually built only one room for himself on the top floor. Out of the elevator, Freya directly pressed the doorbell.

After three to four minutes, the door opened. It was Maya.

Maya's long hair scattered and she only wrapped herself up casually in a bathrobe. She did not even fasten her belt. Her exposed neck and collarbone were covered with ambiguous kiss marks.

"Miss Norris? How did you come?" Maya smiled sorrowfully. "I thought it was room service. Do you want Chris? He's..."

Freya understood and she was not the kind of person who would rush in for her. She just sneered. "I beg your pardon."

She turned around to leave and only felt cold when she was out of the hotel.

The coldness, or the coolness between spring and summer was not as chilling as in winter. However, it still evaded her entire body, through invisible pores to her heart.

Freya got into the car and finally blocked that coolness outside, but her hands, feet, neck, and heart were all chilling.

She drove to the company and changed into sneakers and sportswear. She doubled the usual speed of the treadmill.

Only by exhausting herself, could she stop thinking about Chris, and stop thinking if he was between the sheets with another woman.

After running for a while, the phone beside her rang. It was Joanne.

She picked up the phone, breathing heavily. Joanne soon sensed something wrong. "Freya, where are you?"

"The company gym." Freya slowed down the treadmill. "What is it?"

"... are you alright?"

Joanne expected that Freya would go to Chris's place, so she asked hesitantly. However, Freya responded fast. "Don't worry. I'm used to it. If I get angry ever time, I would have died long ago. That's it. I'm running, might get a side stitch."

Joanne did not ask further and just reminded her. "You remember to come home early."

"I know." Freya paused and then continued, "Joanne, I think Brian really cares about you. At least he let everyone knows that he cares about you. You need to care for him too. You two are possible. It's true that love comes in time."

Joanne smiled and said, "I will, and I'll let you know once I've got the good news."

She hung up the phone, and Brian's intrigued voice rang beside her. "What good news?"

She smiled and put on a face as if she was going to share the good news with him. "It's a secret!"

Brian assumed a posture to pinch her face, but she dodged flexibly and wrapped her arms around his waist. "I'll tell you in the future."

Soft and coy voice, and flattering smile. He knew clearly that it was a delaying tactic. Nevertheless, Brian still bought it and let her go.
