"Where are you taking me?"
When Wendy finished speaking, she was dragged out of the County Clerk Office by Gavin.
Outside the bureau, the sunshine was bright and warm, and the whole city was filled with a kind of joyful atmosphere.
However, the atmosphere couldn't help Wendy get rid of the doubts in her heart.
She really couldn't figure out where Gavin was taking her.
Gavin held Wendy's hand tightly and said, "Didn't you just say that you wanted to buy lipstick? I'll take you to get some."
Wendy was stunned for a moment and couldn't help laughing. "It was just an excuse I found to distract you. I wasn't serious about it!"
"But, Wendy-" Gavin turned his head and looked at Wendy seriously. "I took it seriously."
Wendy was speechless for a while. Before long, she was pulled by Gavin to the gate of the shopping mall.
Women would always be the main source of the shopping mall's consumption. As a result, the stores for skin care and makeup were set on the first floor.
There were all kinds of skin care and makeup products on each counter, which seemed to attract the attention of the girls inadvertently.
Wendy didn't often come to this shopping mall, so she was a little confused for a while. "Actually... I don't know where the counter is. We may need to look for it..."
"I know where it is." Gavin pulled Wendy. "Just follow me."
The security guard of the mall recognized Gavin from a distance.
Gavin had never been to the mall since he got sick, but it didn't affect his influence in the mall.
The security guard informed the manager of the mall immediately.
Gavin took Wendy to the counter, and the manager also came over.
The manager and Gavin had been acquaintances long ago. As soon as he saw Gavin, he smiled and said, "Mr. Gavin, congratulations on your marriage. Best wishes to you and your new family!" He then turned to look at Wendy. "Mrs. Shen, happy marriage. I wish you and Mr. Gavin eternal love!"
Wendy forgot that she had been surrounded by reporters yesterday. She asked in surprise, "Sir, how did you know that we were married?"
The manager was even more surprised than Wendy. After thinking for a while, he took out his mobile phone and clicked open a page. He handed the phone to Wendy and said, "Mrs. Shen, look-"
"Oh?"
Wendy took the phone with a little curiosity and looked at the content on the screen carefully.
The manager had clicked open the browser which showed a report on it.
It could be seen that the editor had put a lot of effort into this report. There were two red words "Married" on both sides of the title, and the title was written in the middle.
"Gavin and Wendy held a secret wedding. 'Brother and sister' have eventually become partners. Best wishes for their marriage!"
The content of the report was just as Wendy expected. The reporter copied the scene of the interview with Gavin yesterday with great diligence, especially describing Gavin's happy smile after marriage.
The reporter also told the readers that Gavin seemed to be very different from the past. He was probably going to follow in Brian's footsteps to be a good husband.
At the end of the report, the reporter briefly revealed Gavin's condition. She tactfully mentioned that Gavin said that he would get better by himself and told everyone not to worry. They could all wait for his return.
After reading the report, Wendy returned the phone to the manager and said, "Thank you."
"You're welcome." The manager said with a smile, "Mrs. Shen, you can go shopping as you like. If you need anything, just tell me. We will be at your service!"
It was rare for Wendy to be treated in such a special way. She was more or less not used to it, but she still responded with a smile, "Okay."
The reason why the manager treated her so special was that she was the cousin of the boss of the shopping mall, Gavin's newlywed wife.
She was not special herself.
It was just that in this shopping mall, her identity was a little special.
Since it was just so, there was no need for her to refuse the manager's kindness. She would try her best not to trouble him.
"Mrs. Shen." The staff at the counter was very smart. She addressed Wendy as the mall manager did. "Do you need to try the color?"
Wendy's original lips were crimson, and the outline of her lips was almost perfect. Basically, as long as it was matched with her makeup, any color of lipstick could be perfectly displayed on her lips.
She didn't try and directly chose which shade to take.
The staff quickly packed up the lipstick and handed it to Gavin. She asked politely, "Mr. Gavin, would you like to choose anything else?"
Gavin looked at Wendy and wanted to ask if she needed to buy anything else, only to find that she was also looking at him.
He raised his eyebrows and said, "If there is nothing you need on this counter, shall we go to the second floor or the food street outside?"
Wendy shook her head. "I don't want to shop anymore. Let's go."
Gavin could tell at a glance that there was something wrong with Wendy's expression. She didn't look as happy as normal girls after shopping.
He didn't ask Wendy immediately. Instead, he waited until they left the shopping mall before he asked, "Wendy, do you want to ask me something?"
"Uh-huh!" Wendy put her arms around her chest, pretending to be relaxed, and looked at Gavin calmly. "I suddenly found that you are very familiar with the mall and the staff at each counter. Why is that?"
Gavin didn't say anything.
He would never tell Wendy it was because he had brought a lot of ex-girlfriends here.
He was considered a frequent visitor to the shopping mall.
As for how frequently he visited the mall, it was estimated that all the card machines here were familiar with his bank card.
If it was possible, Gavin was willing to have this "dark history" rot in his heart.
At the moment, he needed to think of a reasonable reason to deal with Wendy first.
Today was the first day of his and Wendy's marriage. He didn't want any unhappiness between them.
Gavin coughed and said, "I used to... manage this shopping mall, and I signed the contracts with all the stores here. It's not strange that I'm familiar with them."
Wendy snorted and looked at Gavin angrily. "Don't think that I don't know the truth! Just because the girl asked you if you wanted to pick something else, I knew you were their frequent visitor! Honey, you are really as generous as the rumors say!"
"Well, there's nothing I can do about that." Gavin simply went all out and sighed. "You girls only like those brands. I didn't have any other choice."
"He sounds troubled? Really?"
Wendy widened her eyes, gritted her teeth, and said word by word, "Gavin!"
Gavin noticed Wendy's anger and said, "I was wrong."
Wendy snorted. "It's good that you know you were wrong! You used to be generous to others, so you should be a hundred times more generous to me in the future!"
Gavin was curious. "Why a hundred times?"
Wendy said reasonably, "Because I think you had a hundred girlfriends, but I have never dated anyone!"
"A hundred girlfriends?
"The little girl is trying to get some information out of me, isn't she?"
Gavin rubbed his temples and said, "Wendy, you overestimated me."
He did feel troubled.
Not to mention whether he had ever had a hundred girlfriends, Wendy must have heard about his romantic affairs in the past. Of course, she did not miss the rumors that he was quite generous to his ex-girlfriends.
However, he wouldn't let Wendy expose the truth like that.
Gavin looked at Wendy helplessly and said, "It's not entirely my fault. If you had shown up earlier, you wouldn't have suffered so many losses."
Wendy blinked and suddenly realized that Gavin wanted to shirk his responsibility.
She used a trick, but she couldn't find out how many girlfriends Gavin had ever had. She couldn't let Gavin shirk his responsibility.
Wendy looked at Gavin seriously and said word by word, "Remember, in the future, you can only bring me here! You can't bring any women here but me!"
In fact, she knew the truth, but she just dropped a hint to him and didn't say anything else.
Gavin thought about it and vaguely guessed that Wendy didn't intend to look into his past romantic history.
For the first time, Gavin felt as if he had been reborn. He nodded and said, "As long as you like it, I can give you the whole shopping mall!"
Wendy pursed her lips and smiled at Gavin. "I don't need the whole shopping mall. I have you and that's enough for me!"
She didn't intend to look into Gavin's past. He didn't do anything against reason anyway, and she hadn't met him at that time, so there was not much reason for her to interfere with his lifestyle.
Just like what she once said, what she wanted was to stay with Gavin in the future.
Wendy smiled slightly, and her smile was bright and sweet. She looked like a flower blooming in the sunshine, which was charming no matter how one looked at it.
Gavin still couldn't help but be fascinated by Wendy. He reached out to hold her waist and kissed her gently on the forehead.
Wendy grabbed Gavin's hand and said, "Let's go back to the hospital!"
The New Year was probably the most lively and beautiful holiday. Most of the patients were temporarily discharged from the hospital and went home for the holiday. Even though the hospital had been meticulously decorated and there was a festive atmosphere in it, the whole place was still quite cold and cheerless.
However, in a place like a hospital, there was more pain than joy, so it was better not to be too lively.
After they entered the hospital building, the whole building was so empty that they could almost hear their echoes.
Gavin held Wendy's hand and said, "There are so few people here. Do you feel scared?"
"Actually, to me, it doesn't matter how many people there are!" Wendy looked indifferent. "You're the only one in my eyes anyway!"
Gavin didn't know before that his little girl had the great ability to flirt with men.
He sighed. "Fortunately, we're married."
"Otherwise, how many other men will Wendy attract?"
Wendy didn't quite understand why Gavin suddenly sighed. She looked at him in confusion. When she was about to ask him what he meant, she saw him close his eyes, and there was a touch of pain in his expression.
"He's not feeling well!"
Wendy instantly reacted and held Gavin. "Are you all right?"
