Chapter 1096 Wendy My Choice Is the Same as Yours

Thinking of this, a scene couldn't help flashing across Wendy's mind.

She told Gavin that he had completely recovered from his illness.

Of course, Gavin was very happy. He pulled her into his arms and they hugged each other tightly.

He didn't say anything, but she could get his happiness and excitement.

Thinking of this, Wendy's eyes turned slightly red, and she couldn't help looking at Gavin.

Gavin opened his eyes slightly and looked at her.

Wendy was stunned for quite a while and couldn't come to her senses. She was in a daze.

"Why didn't I notice when Gavin woke up?"

Gavin didn't care how surprised Wendy was. He reached out from the quilt, took her hand, and said in a hoarse and weak voice, "Wendy, I'm sorry. I'm going to let you down."

Wendy couldn't remember anything for a while. She looked at Gavin in a daze and asked in confusion, "What?"

She was not faking it.

She really didn't understand what Gavin meant.

Gavin gently stroked Wendy's hand and said slowly, "Wendy, I woke up just now, but I didn't have the strength to open my eyes."

Wendy blinked her eyes and gradually understood something. She asked in a daze, "So, did you hear everything I said just now?"

Gavin closed his eyes slightly, then opened them again, and said, "Every single word."

Wendy didn't know what to say, thinking, "Damn it!"

Gavin looked at Wendy's twisted face and couldn't help smiling. After a while, he said, "Wendy, I heard you mention the operation just now..."

Wendy hesitated for a moment and nodded. "Yeah."

Gavin had already thought of something, so he asked calmly, "My surgery has been moved up, hasn't it?"

"Yes." Wendy continued to nod. "Dr. Sanchez and Henry have decided... to move up the time of your operation to the day after tomorrow."

Gavin smiled. "I see."

Wendy was surprised but more at a loss.

She looked at Gavin and hesitated for a long time. In the end, she said, "Gavin, you can also choose to receive conservative treatment. However, I decided to have you take the operation on my own accord."

Gavin knew what Wendy was thinking about - she was afraid that he would not agree to take the operation.

"Silly girl, why wouldn't I agree to it?"

Gavin knew Wendy's personality better than anyone else. It was better to tell Wendy what was on his mind other than explaining the facts to her.

He grabbed Wendy's hand and looked into her eyes. "Wendy, even if you didn't make this choice, I would choose to have the operation."

Wendy looked at Gavin in surprise. "Will you make the same choice as me?"

"Of course." Gavin nodded without hesitation. "Wendy, the surgery is my last hope. I have no reason to choose a conservative treatment and wait for Death to pick me up."

"Although I don't like the last part of your words, I agree with you." A smile appeared on Wendy's face. "I knew it. Even if you are sick, we still have a tacit understanding!"

Gavin gently touched Wendy's head and said, "I suddenly fell ill in the morning. Were you scared?"

"This will be the last time you do that!" Wendy looked determined and said firmly, "After the operation, you will definitely get better. You won't have me scared anymore!"

Gavin was amused by Wendy's words. He gently rubbed her head, and his actions were full of deep affection.

A large part of the reason why he loved Wendy was because of her personality of being open-minded about everything.

"With Wendy's personality, even if something goes wrong with my operation, she will still be able to come around and live a good life, won't she?"

Gavin's hand slid down Wendy's shoulder and took her hand. "Wendy, can you promise me to do one thing on the day of my operation?"

"Name it!" Wendy was very calm and generous. "For the sake of the fact that you are about to go through an ordeal, no matter what request you make, I will grant your wish!"

"I hope you can be strong." Gavin's voice was soft. "Wendy, I don't know how long the surgery will take. Every second you spend outside will be torturous. You'll wait for me, and I will definitely come out of the operating room."

Wendy pursed her lips and smiled. She nodded and said, "Okay, I promise you that."

Gavin held Wendy's hand tightly and didn't say anything more.

Wendy opened her mouth. She obviously wanted to say something to Gavin, but before she could say anything, she saw Gavin slowly close his eyes.

She finally chose not to speak and just looked at Gavin quietly.

"Noah and Henry said that after Gavin's illness worsened, his waking time would be shorter and shorter.

"Since he needs to rest, then I should let him have a good rest.

"No matter what, I'll be staying here with him."

Not long after, Gavin's breathing became even and long, and he looked like he was sleeping soundly.

Wendy picked up her mobile phone, walked over, and sat on the single sofa aside. She sent a message in the group chat to tell Chris, Joanne, and the others that Gavin had woken up for a while, but now he was sleeping again.

Joanne sent a message and asked, "Wendy, did you tell Gavin about the operation?"

"Yes!" Wendy sent a nodding emoji. "Gavin agreed to take the surgery."

"Okay. Got it," Joanne said, "I'll go visit Gavin tomorrow."

Wendy sent an emoji and didn't say anything more. She just went back to accompany Gavin.

At this time, Joanne, who was far away in Prime Villas, was also busy packing up things for Iris.

Early in the morning, Iris told them that she would return to Orchid Gardens after breakfast.

Unexpectedly, as soon as they finished breakfast, Joanne received a phone call from Wendy, saying that Gavin suddenly had an attack, so she could only put the matter aside.

Iris had planned to go to the hospital together with Joanne, but when she was about to leave, the two little kids suddenly burst into tears. The old lady could only stay to take care of them while Brian and Joanne went to the hospital.

Just after noon, Brian and Joanne came back.

Iris first asked about Gavin's condition in a hurry. After learning that Gavin's condition got even worse, the old lady was sad for quite a while, but she was still determined to move back according to her schedule.

Joanne knew that she and Brian could not keep Iris, so she could only help Iris tidy up her stuff.

Halfway through tidying up, Joanne suddenly said, "Mom, it doesn't matter if you leave your clothes here. You can occasionally come and stay here for a few days."

The old lady thought for a moment, nodded, and put down the clothes in her hands. "Well, I also want to accompany the two little guys from time to time." After a pause, she added, "Of course, I'll come for you and Brian as well."

Joanne smiled happily and nodded.

Iris sighed, sat down, and said, "Let's go to the hospital together to accompany Gavin the day after tomorrow. As the saying goes, many hands make light work. I hope we can help Gavin."

Joanne said, "Wendy said that she believed in Gavin. Mom, I think we should believe in him as well."

"Over the years, I was there when Gavin and Brian grew up," Iris said, "Of course, I believe in Gavin."

Joanne nodded, and she had more confidence in her heart.

She believed that with the support of so many people behind him, Gavin would definitely be able to get through this crisis smoothly.

After the old lady's stuff was packed up, Joanne and Brian sent Iris out. Winston had also prepared the car and was waiting at the gate.

Before Iris got in the car, Brian said specially, "Mom, I have hired someone else to protect you. The thing that happened last time will never happen again."

Iris knew why Brian specifically told her this.

Brian and Joanne probably thought that the kidnapping had left her with great trauma.

In fact, that was not the case.

Iris smiled. There was a sense of calmness in her smile that had been tempered through time.

She said, "I'm an old lady. I've experienced everything. What happened last time doesn't affect me at all. Don't worry."

"We believe in you." Joanne hugged Iris. "Mom, see you the day after tomorrow."

Iris patted Joanne's back. "See you the day after tomorrow."

Seeing Iris's car leave, Joanne and Brian turned around and went back into the house.

Joanne still couldn't let go of those things. She sighed after returning to the house.

In Brian's impression, Joanne had always been optimistic. Even if something happened, she would try to solve it by herself. It was rare for her to sigh.

Brian held Joanne's hand and asked, "Are you worried about Gavin?"

"I'm also quite worried about Wendy," Joanne said, "After I told her that Gavin's surgery was going to be moved up, she cried and asked me why she and Gavin needed to experience all this."

Brian thought for a moment and said, "Wendy was in a bad mood. It's normal for her to suddenly break down."

"But, she wouldn't be like this in the past," Joanne said, "Wendy has borne these things alone for too long and has been optimistic for too long. I'm actually very worried about her. In addition, things have been too severe recently. I'm afraid that at the last moment, Wendy won't be able to hold on."

Brian understood that Joanne's analysis was actually very reasonable.

However, Joanne was already very worried, and there was no need for him to confirm her analysis.

Brian just said, "We will stay with Wendy on the day of the operation. At that time, we will also need to face what she needs to deal with. We can both help Wendy."

In other words, he wanted Joanne to be at ease.

Joanne nodded and said, "Let's go check on Aiden and Romy."

In the past month or two, the two little kids grew very fast.

Aiden was still young, but he had already begun to act like a calm person. On the contrary, Romy's voice was getting crisper and she was becoming more lively. Martha often held her in her arms and couldn't let go of her.

When Joanne lost her mother at the age of 15, she once wondered if fate wanted to abuse her.

It was only now that she realized that fate was fair to everyone.

What one had lost would one day return to one's life in a different way.

Therefore, Joanne firmly believed that Gavin would definitely get better.
