Chapter 1106 Gavin Is About to Undergo Surgery

In the private hospital, the situation between Gavin and Wendy was exactly the opposite of what Joanne had imagined.

At noon that day, when Gavin was awake, he chatted with Wendy for a while. Then, he had been sleeping until now and never woke up again.

He was going to have the operation tomorrow morning.

Wendy stayed beside the hospital bed and stared at Gavin without blinking. She was full of contradictions in her heart.

She hoped that Gavin could wake up, and she also hoped that he would open his eyes again after the operation.

If Gavin woke up now and knew that he would undergo surgery tomorrow, he would definitely feel burdened.

In comparison, Wendy preferred that he could undergo the operation without knowing it.

She was sure that Gavin wouldn't be willing to leave her alone.

"Therefore, no matter what happens after the operation, I'm sure that he will wake up and take a look at me."

Wendy was taking a bet on Gavin's feelings for her.

When placing the bet, Wendy had to admit that she was actually very scared.

She was scared that she would lose the bet.

If she lost, she would lose Gavin, who meant the whole world to her.

She also had to admit that originally, she couldn't afford to take this bet.

However, she firmly believed in Gavin's feelings for her and knew for sure that he couldn't bear to leave her.

She was more convinced that even if Gavin couldn't wake up before the operation, he would definitely wake up after it was finished.

"When that happens, as soon as Gavin opens his eyes, he will be able to receive the good news that he has completely recovered.

"That will be great, won't it?

"However, here comes the contradiction-"

At the same time, Wendy was deeply perturbed.

She was very afraid that if she couldn't get what she wanted, after tomorrow, she and Gavin would be separated forever.

"If something unexpected happens during the operation, won't it become the last time I get to see Gavin when he wakes up after the emergency treatment?"

The more Wendy thought about it, the more entangled she became. What was worse was that she couldn't come up with an answer no matter how hard she tried.

In the end, she simply lay down beside the hospital bed and looked at Gavin gloomily. She asked while talking to herself, "Gavin, are you going to wake up before the operation?"

Since she was so contradictory, it was better to leave the decision to Gavin.

Unfortunately, he was still sleeping, so he couldn't hear her question and wouldn't answer her.

Wendy knew that she couldn't get Gavin's answer, but she still stubbornly waited for quite a while before giving up.

She got up, took a shower, and came back to lie down beside Gavin.

If Gavin were awake, he would definitely reach out to hold her in his arms at this time.

However, at this very moment, he was comatose.

Not to mention hugging, he couldn't even feel that she was right beside him.

The more Wendy thought about it, the more unwilling she became. She pursed her lips and got into Gavin's arms while saying, "Since you can't hold me, I'll do it!"

She gently leaned against him, took his hand, and wrapped it around herself. She took it as Gavin holding her in his arms.

After a while, Wendy gently pressed his chest with one hand and felt his heartbeat.

She didn't care whether he could hear her or not. She said to herself, "I can't sleep whenever I think of the surgery tomorrow. Gavin, what do you think I should do?"

Gavin couldn't feel anything. Of course, he wouldn't answer Wendy's question.

Wendy waited quietly for a long time. She didn't hear Gavin's voice, but she didn't complain. She just smiled and said, "I know what you will say. You will definitely ask me to go with the flow, right?"

Gavin didn't say anything.

Wendy smiled and continued naturally, "Okay. I'll listen to you!"

As soon as she finished speaking, she snuggled into his arms and got closer to him.

She was moving too fast, while Gavin was moving too gently.

So she didn't notice that his hand was slightly moving in her direction.

He was actually trying to hold Wendy in his arms.

Unfortunately, he didn't have the strength to do so and was unable to open his eyes.

Although Wendy didn't notice it, she and Gavin seemed to have a kind of telepathy. The next second, she grabbed his hand and closed her eyes.

Joanne once said that most of the time, no matter what happened, as long as Brian was with her, she would have infinite courage and could face everything unknown.

She also said that the source of her courage was her deep love and trust for Brian.

Wendy thought that she loved Gavin and also deeply believed in him.

"Therefore, I can also get my courage from Gavin.

"As long as I'm brave enough, no matter what happens tomorrow, she can take it.

"I WILL!"

Thinking of this, Wendy felt filled with courage. Her uneasy heart gradually calmed down. She was surrounded by heavy sleepiness and slowly fell asleep.

One night soon passed.

The second day's dawn quickly covered the great earth, lighting up the entire world.

Wendy woke up early maybe because she kept thinking about Gavin's operation.

What she didn't expect was that as soon as she opened her eyes, the first thing she saw was Gavin's eyes.

"He's looking at me...

"Gavin is awake!"

Wendy immediately sat up as if she had been electrocuted. She widened her eyes and looked at Gavin. "When did you wake up?"

She had thought that he would not wake up until the operation was over.

When he was asleep, no matter what Wendy had in mind, it was a huge surprise for her that Gavin was awake now.

She was curious about when he had woken up.

"Well..." Gavin looked embarrassed and said helplessly, "Wendy, it's hard for me to describe it in detail."

"What's so hard about naming a time?"

Wendy looked at Gavin in confusion. "What does that mean?"

He thought for a moment and came up with very abstract wording by saying, "To be exact, I woke up last night. However, it wasn't until this morning that I had the strength to open my eyes and talk to you."

Yuna didn't say anything.

She thought for a moment and felt that there was something fishy about Gavin's deliberate emphasis.

She couldn't figure out what was fishy about it at the moment, so she could only look at him in confusion.

Gavin looked at Wendy's silly look and couldn't help smiling. He touched his head and said, "I heard everything you said to me before you fell asleep yesterday."

Wendy didn't know what to say for a moment. Her face turned red, and her expression instantly became very embarrassed.

Gavin didn't mind her expression and continued to say, "Wendy, now I can answer your question."

Last night, when Gavin was still comatose, Wendy asked him whether he was going to wake up before the operation.

He didn't answer at that time.

Now, he could tell Wendy the answer.

Gavin raised his hand, gently stroked Wendy's head, and said, "Wendy, after I fell asleep, I felt very tired. Even if I was occasionally awake, I didn't have the strength to open my eyes. Just like last night, I clearly heard you talking, but I couldn't answer you until I heard your question-"

Speaking of this, he stopped abruptly. It was unknown whether it was because he was tired.

Wendy looked at Gavin curiously and urged him to go on. "Did you change your mind after hearing my question?"

"Yeah. I think I should try my best that at least I should open my eyes and talk to you before the operation." With that, Gavin kissed Wendy's eyes. His voice was low and particularly gentle. "And I made it, Wendy."

The more Wendy listened, the more curious she became. She stared at Gavin and asked, "Why would you talk to me before the operation? Is it necessary?"

"Of course." Gavin's hand slid down Wendy's shoulder. He held her hand and said in a serious tone, "Wendy, before I take the operation, I can't have you bear all the uneasiness alone."

Gavin struggled to wake up, and he did it just for Wendy.

She only found it sweet.

She pursed her lips and said, "Gavin, do you know what I really hope for?"

"I don't know." Gavin raised his eyebrows slightly. "What would it be?"

Wendy didn't hide it and said slowly, "In fact, I prefer that you will wake up after the surgery because it will mean that your operation is successful." After a pause, she continued, "Gavin, compared with being nervous, I'm more afraid of losing you."

"Silly, I know that." Gavin held Wendy in his arms and rested his chin on her shoulder, pressing his whole body against hers. They could even feel each other's heartbeats.

After a while, he continued, "Wendy, don't be afraid. I promise you that I will wake up after the operation and spend the rest of my life with you in good health."

No one could guarantee that Gavin would definitely fulfill this promise.

But now, it could at least make Wendy feel at ease.

Wendy held Gavin's hand and looked highly serious and stubborn. "That's a deal! If you can't do it, I'll end our marriage!"

Gavin kissed Wendy's forehead with a smile and said in a soft voice, "I can't afford to end my marriage with you, so I will do what I said."

Wendy knew that what Gavin said now was just to make her feel at ease.

However, his effort was already worthy of her cherishing.

She hugged Gavin tightly and suppressed the crying in her voice. "Would you like to have breakfast? Shall we call for delivery from your favorite bakery?"

"Silly." Gavin rubbed Wendy's head. "You're a doctor. Did you forget that I can't eat before the operation?"

Wendy was stunned for a moment before she remembered this and said in a somewhat disappointed voice, "You're right. I almost forgot that."

"It doesn't matter." Gavin said naturally, "Let's eat together after the operation."

Now, Wendy took every word of Gavin's as a promise.

Hearing his words, she couldn't wait to reach out her hand and pretended to pinky swear with Gavin. "It's a deal!"
