Chapter 1111 Silly Girl Give Me a Hug

On the day when Gavin's father passed away, Dolly felt that she had become a walking corpse.

She didn't want to experience the heart-wrenching pain again in this life.

She did not expect that fate did not intend to let her go.

Today, she was likely to suffer that kind of pain again.

But Gavin said that he would not allow that to happen.

At that moment, Dolly had mixed feelings in her heart.

She started thinking about finding Gavin day and night many years ago.

What she didn't know was that it was just her wishful thinking because he didn't want her to find his trace at all.

Dolly didn't expect that the abandoned child would become a big shot in the business field when he grew up. In Lambert Group, he was second only to its boss, and every word of him was significant.

Gavin was young and promising, but he didn't want to know who his biological parents were, nor did he intend to let them find him.

He used all means to hide his identity and traces.

Dolly looked for him aimlessly for several years but got nothing.

If it weren't for the coincidence that she had to return to the country to attend Chris and Freya's wedding, she might not have been able to find Gavin for the rest of her life.

At the airport that day, as soon as Dolly saw Gavin, she knew that she had finally found her child.

She didn't expect Gavin wasn't very enthusiastic about her even though she was his mother.

Her appearance did not cause any waves in his life. To Gavin, she seemed to be no different from an ordinary person.

At least, since the day they recognized each other, Gavin had never called her "mom".

Dolly didn't want to admit it, but she knew better than anyone else that although Gavin had forgiven her, she was an incompetent mother and he didn't accept her.

She was very sad, but she didn't have the right to blame him for that.

Back then, she was unable to take good care of her child and decided to give up on Gavin.

Therefore, no matter how Gavin treated her now, she only had herself to blame.

When she was alone, she would wonder if he would ever forgive her.

"Will I ever have a chance to hear Gavin call me mom in this life?"

Today, Dolly finally got the answer to these questions.

Although Gavin hadn't called her mom yet, he didn't ignore her.

At the very least, he would care about her feelings and comfort her when she was nervous and afraid.

That was enough for her.

Dolly closed her eyes, and a drop of warm tears fell from the corner of her eyes onto Gavin's sick bed.

He looked at her tear and was touched from the bottom of his heart.

"However, this would be the last moment.

"I have to hold it back.

"Otherwise, if I do that and the operation doesn't go well, it would only increase her pain."

Looking at this scene, Joanne felt a burst of bitterness in her heart.

She walked over and handed Dolly a handkerchief. "Auntie, don't cry. Gavin won't let us down."

Dolly forced a smile and nodded. She took Joanne's handkerchief to wipe her tears.

Joanne looked at Gavin and said with laughter, "As long as you get out of the operating room safe and sound, I will admit that you are my cousin."

Gavin also laughed out loud.

His voice was very light, but it was still casual as before. "I can't have Brian call me cousin, but you can't get away with it."

"Okay." Joanne smiled more brightly. "I'll be looking forward to it."

Gavin said, "It's a deal."

Chris held Freya's hand and the two walked to Gavin's sick bed together.

At this time, Freya, who had always been eloquent, did not know what to say.

After a long while, she managed to say it. "Gavin, we will all be there for you outside the operating room. Don't be afraid."

"No problem. I am not afraid." Gavin followed along with what she said. "I will definitely get out there safe and sound. Wait for me."

What should be said had already been said.

It would be meaningless and of no help, if they repeated their words.

Chris gently patted Gavin on the shoulder and said, "Don't worry about the operation. Leave the rest to us."

Gavin smiled and nodded in agreement with Chris.

At this moment, there was a knock on the door. The door was opened and Noah's figure appeared in the ward.

He knew that Brian and Wesley had come over. He had thought that the atmosphere in the room would be very depressing.

After entering, he felt that everyone was actually quite relaxed.

It meant that he didn't need to spend too much effort consoling everyone in the room.

Noah breathed a long sigh of relief and said, "The operation is about to start." After a pause, he did not forget to emphasize, "There are only 20 minutes left."

In other words, the ones in the room still had 20 minutes to talk to Gavin.

"That would be enough." Wesley glanced at Noah and ordered coldly, "Come out with me."

Noah looked at Wesley in confusion and asked, "Where will we be going?"

He came here as the attending doctor to announce the start of the operation. He wondered why Wesley asked him to go out.

Wesley didn't answer and walked straight out of the ward. He wasn't worried that Noah would be against him at all.

Noah looked at Wesley's back and had no choice but to follow him to the balcony of the living room.

Wesley lit a cigarette with skillful gestures, took a drag, and slowly looked at Noah.

Noah felt that smoking had a lot to do with one's appearance.

It would only be smoking when some people smoked.

However, when people like Brian smoked, it could be extremely attractive when they took a drag on the cigarette and breathed it out.

Wesley was extremely good-looking, but he was also offbeat.

When he smoked, he inexplicably gave people an oppressive feeling. Even if there was a wall between him and the others, they could still feel a sense of danger.

Noah accidentally met Wesley's eyes and felt a chill all over his body. He looked at Wesley with fear and asked, "Brother Wesley, what can I do for you?"

Wesley exhaled a mouthful of smoke. After two seconds, he said, "It's about Gavin's operation..."

Before Wesley could finish his words, Noah interrupted him and said, "I know what you are going to say!"

"You know?" Wesley glanced at Noah and said lightly, "Tell me about it."

Noah snorted as if he had seen through Wesley. He said slowly, "You must be ordering me to do my best to help Gavin with the operation, and failure is not allowed... It's all a fixed pattern. I have already been well aware of that!"

"Indeed, it's a fixed pattern." Wesley's voice was full of infinite helplessness. "Unfortunately, you're wrong about what I'm going to say now."

"What?" Noah almost couldn't react. "I got it wrong?"

Wesley took another drag. After a while, he said slowly, "I'm not a doctor, but I know that the result of the operation is not under your control. I won't order you to do anything."

Only then did Noah realize that he had misunderstood Wesley's intention.

Noah felt inexplicably guilty. After pondering for a moment, he asked, "What did you specifically call me out for?"

Wesley was silent for a moment, and then his voice suddenly became very low. "Noah, I want to ask you for a favor."

"Wesley... is asking me for a favor?

"Damn. This is not happening, is it?"

Noah was so scared that he even wanted to step back.

After a long while, he reluctantly came to his senses. He looked at Wesley blankly and asked, "What... what is it?"

Wesley didn't keep him guessing and continued, "I want to ask you to do your best to help Gavin with the operation. I have known him for more than a decade. If he can't make it, there will be no other man like him in the world."

The implication was that Gavin was very important to them, and they couldn't afford to lose him.

"Alas. Your words made me suddenly feel a little envious of Gavin somehow." Noah paused and promised seriously, "Wesley, don't worry. Gavin's surgical plan was jointly formulated by Henry and me. We have thought of all kinds of risks and have already come up with a plan to deal with the operation. In short, everything will be under our control. If Gavin can work along with us, the success rate of the operation... may not be so despairing."

Wesley put out the cigarette and said, "Anyway, we'll leave it to you."

Noah nodded and said, "I will do my best."

After that, they went back to the ward.

Gavin was ready for the operation, and the nurse who would participate in it was already in the room.

In the end, the moment had arrived.

Noah breathed a long sigh of relief and said, "Excuse me, everyone. We're going to send Gavin to the operating room."

Wendy had been with Gavin all the time. When she heard that, she almost subconsciously grabbed his hand.

Gavin also held her hand tightly and gave her a reassuring look. He said softly, "Don't be afraid. I'll be out soon."

Wendy nodded, suppressed the crying in her voice, and pleaded, "Gavin, as long as you are still conscious, you must be thinking about me. Do you hear me?"

She was not being selfish, but she knew that she was the most important person to Gavin.

She thought that if he could think of her at the critical moment, his survival instinct would be much stronger.

Gavin grabbed Wendy's hand and smiled. "I heard you."

Wendy's tone became more and more overbearing. "Not only do you need to hear me, but you also have to do it!"

Gavin nodded and touched Wendy's head. "Got it."

At this time, the nurses came over and said to Wendy politely, "Miss Moore, please excuse us. We need to wheel Mr. Gavin out."

Wendy moved a little, but she didn't let go of Gavin's hand.

The rims of her eyes suddenly began to heat up and swell. As if some warm liquid had filled her eyes, her tears were about to overflow from them.

She sniffed and tried her best to hold back her tears to prevent herself from crying out loud.

"Gavin is about to have an operation. I can't have him worry about me."

Gavin knew what Wendy was holding back. He raised his hand and touched her face, saying, "Silly girl, give me a hug."

Wendy finally couldn't help shedding tears. She threw herself into Gavin's arms.

She seemed to want to keep him with her, holding him tightly with all her strength.
