Chapter 1112 Gavin's Operation (1)

Gavin felt Wendy's strength and could naturally feel the deep fear in her heart.

If he remembered correctly, this morning, Wendy had promised him that she was ready to handle every possible ending.

However, when the most important moment arrived, she would still be afraid.

No matter how much she had prepared herself mentally, she could not afford to lose him.

Gavin reached out his hand, hugged Wendy, and comforted her softly, "Wendy, don't be afraid. I will be fine."

"Yeah. I know that."

Wendy choked with sobs and nodded. She said each word with great force as if she wanted to use all her strength to prove that she believed in Gavin.

She held him tighter while speaking.

She didn't know how to tell him that in fact, she was never ready to accept all of this.

If it were possible, she hoped that none of this had ever happened and they would never need to face it.

However, Gavin had already been plagued by the disease. They had no choice but to let him take the risk to have the operation.

"Gavin," Wendy still couldn't help crying out and pleaded, "you must go through the operation well and wake up to see me."

"I will, Wendy, I will." Gavin comforted Wendy and promised, "I still have a lot of things to do with you. Don't worry. I will be safe and sound."

"Okay." Wendy cried and nodded. "I believe in you."

"All right. Don't cry now." Gavin kissed Wendy's forehead. "Wait for me to come out of the emergency room."

Wendy buried her face in Gavin's chest and said in a crying voice, "Okay."

At this moment, she suddenly hoped that the rules of the world were just like those of fantasy stories where everyone had some superpowers.

The first superpower she would learn would be making time stop.

After learning it, she needed to use it now.

Although she was very selfish, as long as she could keep Gavin, she would definitely make the whole world stop.

Gavin knew Wendy well. He was well aware that when this little girl was helpless, she would usually have some strange ideas in her mind.

He caressed Wendy's hair and said, "Wendy, this operation is the only choice we have to help me completely recover. Don't be afraid. Wait for me to go through the operation out here. I will definitely be cured and come out to see you."

Wendy couldn't say a word. She could only keep nodding and holding Gavin more tightly.

"If this were the last time we meet, I want to remember everything about Gavin, including the warmth of his body."

Although Noah was a doctor and adopted the principle of being strict with business, he was not cold-hearted. Looking at Gavin and Wendy, he was touched.

However, the operation had to be carried out on time. It wasn't okay for Wendy to act like this and get the operation delayed.

In the end, Noah steeled himself and gave the nurses a look.

The nurses understood and nodded. One of them helped Wendy up and explained, "Miss Moore, Mr. Gavin must enter the operating room at the scheduled time. Please move aside."

"They're going to take Gavin away?"

Wendy suddenly became agitated. Not only did she not let go of Gavin, but she held him tighter, and she cried even harder.

Gavin had always been rational, but this time, he did not help the nurse but held Wendy hard as well.

He admitted that he was afraid and reluctant to part with her.

"Well..." The nurse looked troubled. "Mr. Gavin, Miss Moore..."

Gavin and Wendy didn't respond at all, so the nurses could only look at Joanne for help.

They had been observing for a while and found that Wendy would listen to what Joanne said.

At this time, the only person who could help them was probably Joanne.

Joanne watched from the side and suddenly realized that Wendy was slowly losing control of herself.

It was because she knew that once Gavin went into the operating room, it was very likely that she would lose him forever.

They were probably having the last moment together in their lives.

Wendy was so scared that she couldn't allow herself to let go of him at all.

The more she acted like that, the more she needed to maintain her rationality.

Joanne walked over and pulled Wendy's hand. "Wendy, calm down. Don't forget what we should focus on now."

Of course, what they should focus on at the moment was Gavin's surgery.

Most importantly, it could not be delayed.

Joanne knew that it was very cruel of her to urge Wendy, but she had to separate Gavin and Wendy to ensure that his operation would be carried out on time.

Wendy had always listened to Joanne. When she heard her words, she looked at her cousin, and her tears kept falling from her eyes. She looked extremely pitiful.

She shook her head and said in a pleading voice, "Joanne, please help me..."

In fact, Wendy knew that Joanne couldn't help her.

However, she didn't have any others to help her.

Compared with others, she trusted Joanne more.

Wendy was really scared. At this moment, she didn't realize that what she was doing was unreasonable.

Joanne still couldn't act ruthlessly toward Wendy, so she could only look at Gavin.

She thought that at this moment, Gavin should be the only one who could comfort Wendy.

Gavin held Wendy's hand and said in a soft but comforting voice, "Wendy, listen to me. Wait for me outside the operating room."

Wendy moved her long eyelashes covered with tears. Obviously, she had taken Gavin's words to heart.

Seeing this, Joanne quickly followed along with his words. "Wendy, Gavin's surgery time has been planned. He needs to enter the operating room on time, which is the premise of the success of the operation."

Wendy looked at Gavin and finally nodded. She allowed the nurses to wheel him out.

She had been holding Gavin's hand and naturally followed the nurse's footsteps.

Looking at Gavin lying on the hospital bed, Wendy felt that her heart suddenly beat faster.

It was not because she was having a crush while seeing her lover, but it was out of fear.

Wendy clearly felt that the blood flow in her body suddenly accelerated as if the blood was going to rush into her heart and crush all the heart vessels.

She subconsciously called Gavin, "Gavin..."

Her voice was full of sadness as she wanted to keep him.

However, she had finished what she wanted to say, and there was nothing else she could say to Gavin.

She just wanted to call his name.

She was afraid that after today, she would no longer have a chance to call out his name in front of him.

Gavin held Wendy's hand tightly and didn't forget to comfort her. "Don't be afraid. Wait for me outside the operating room."

Wendy choked with sobs and nodded, unable to speak.

Not only Wendy but also Brian and Joanne had been following Gavin.

However, none of them knew what to say at this moment.

When they arrived at the door of the operating room, Noah made a gesture. The nurses immediately stopped and let Gavin talk to his family for the last time.

The operating room was the place Wendy was most familiar with. She had once dreamed of taking charge of this place and rescuing the dying patients.

At this moment, however, she felt a deep fear of this place.

She was afraid that the operating room would make her lose the person she loved the most.

For a moment, infinite power burst out of Wendy's body. She held Gavin's hand tightly, and her knuckles turned white in an instant. Her grip also turned Gavin's hand red.

Except for doing this, she didn't know how to keep Gavin with her.

Gavin didn't say anything. He just looked at Wendy, and his eyes revealed his reluctance and attachment to her.

Noah withdrew his hand, indicating that time was up. However, Gavin's and Wendy's hands seemed to be glued together, and they didn't intend to separate at all.

A nurse looked at Joanne helplessly and said, "Mrs. Lambert, please help us again."

This time, even Joanne couldn't bear to separate the couple.

However, Wendy couldn't stop Gavin in this way.

Joanne still walked over, put her hands on Wendy's shoulders, and said, "Wendy, let go."

Wendy was unwilling, but she had to let go of Gavin.

He knew that she was struggling. He had no extra strength to comfort her, so he just mouthed to her, "Wendy, don't be afraid. Wait for me."

Wendy's hands kept trembling, and her tears quickly flowed out and blurred her vision. She could only keep blinking, trying to see Gavin more clearly.

She struggled for a long time and finally loosened her grip little by little.

"The operation would be Gavin's last chance. I'll let him go and let him risk it once."

Gavin did not ask the nurses to wheel him in immediately. Instead, he glanced at Joanne. Before he spoke, she already knew what he wanted to say.

Joanne turned to look at Brian and said, "Gavin wants to talk to you."

Brian and Wesley came over. Gavin looked at them and slightly opened his mouth, saying, "Help me take care of Wendy."

What he meant was not only the period during which he had the operation but also every day from now on if something went wrong with his operation.

Brian understood what Gavin meant. He nodded and said, "Don't worry. We will take care of her well at any time."

With Brian's words, Gavin was relieved. He looked at Wendy with a smile and saw tears falling from her eyes.

He wanted to raise his hand and wipe away his newlywed wife's tears.

However, he didn't have the strength or the opportunity to do that.

Before he could raise his hand, the nurses wheeled him into the operating room.

Wendy saw that Gavin was getting farther and farther away from her. She felt as if a rib had been removed from her body and a kind of pain that almost devoured her spread along the blood flow, wreaking havoc all over her body.

She almost subconsciously called out, "Gavin!"

This time, her voice was filled with the most profound of sorrows, as well as the most profound of desires to keep him with her.

Hearing Wendy's cry, Joanne only felt as if her heart had been cut open and blood was flowing out of it.

Unfortunately, Wendy didn't arouse the sympathy of others. As soon as she finished speaking, the operating room door was closed.

She could no longer see Gavin.

She didn't know whether he had answered her or not, and she didn't know if he would still have a chance to answer her.
