Chapter 1120 You Just Need to Occasionally Know My Plans

Joanne thought about it for a while and was very sure that she had suffered a loss, but did not know how.

The only thing she knew was that Brian was like a profiteer who would never make a losing deal.

This was also the reason why she was sure that she was at a disadvantage.

Joanne looked at Brian confusedly. "Are you planning on something?"

Although they had been married for so long, most of the time, she still couldn't get what Brian was thinking.

Brian could tell her dilemma in a second. He raised his eyebrows and whispered in her ear, "Joanne, you don't need to know all my plans. You just need to know some of them occasionally."

"Occasionally?" Joanne asked in confusion, "What do you mean?"

Brian lowered his voice, which possessed a kind of magnetic calmness. He said, "Like how it was last night."

Joanne was speechless.

Her first reaction was that her husband's voice was so pleasant to the ear that if he continued talking, her ears would go limp.

However, no matter how pleasant his voice was, it couldn't cover the fact that he was doing a dirty talk.

Joanne gently gritted her teeth and looked at Brian as she said, "Rogue!"

Brian smiled happily, took Joanne's hand, and took her downstairs.

After they finished breakfast, Brian was ready to go back to the study to deal with his affairs. Joanne thought for a moment and said, "Since you will stay at home, I'll leave Aiden and Romy to you. I need to go to the hospital to visit Gavin and Wendy."

Brian did not agree with her proposal but decided to postpone his work. He said, "I'll go with you."

"Huh?" Joanne was confused and asked, "What about your work?"

Brian took his coat and put it on neatly and handsomely. He clasped Joanne's hand and said, "You are more important than my work."

His tone was quite serious, unlike the slightly teasing tone he used when he talked dirty.

Of course, Joanne could tell that he was not joking.

She vaguely guessed what he was worried about, but she was not sure. She could only ask, "Are you worried that Rowdy will take action?"

Since Joanne had already guessed it, Brian did not need to hide it anymore.

"Yeah," he said with a calm voice, but he got more serious because of this matter. "Rowdy will take action at any time."

Joanne knew that Brian was most worried about her.

Once she fell into Rowdy's hands, she knew what would happen to her.

She gave Brian a reassuring look and smiled at him, saying, "Don't worry, I am not a child anymore. I will always be vigilant, especially when I go out."

In other words, she could protect herself, and Brian did not have to worry too much about her.

Brian stroked Joanne's hair and said, "Joanne, I won't let him get any chance to hurt you."

Joanne didn't say anything.

She thought for a moment. If she and Brian stayed together all the time, Rowdy would indeed not have a chance to get close to her.

She held Brian's hand and said, "Okay. Let's go to the hospital!"

After they settled Aiden and Romy, they got in Winston's car and left for the hospital.

It took less than an hour to drive from Prime Villas to the hospital. Soon, the car stopped in front of the hospital.

Joanne couldn't wait to get off the car and pulled Brian to the hospital.

She did not expect that before she could enter the hospital, she and Brian were surrounded by a lot of reporters.

The reporters pointed their cameras at the couple, and various questions came at them like a tsunami.

"Mr. Lambert, I heard that Special Assistant Gavin is currently staying in this hospital. Is that correct?"

"Mrs. Lambert, we received news that Special Assistant Gavin had an operation yesterday. Is it true?"

"We also heard that Special Assistant Gavin's operation was extremely risky. How is he now? Can he still return to Lambert Group to work?"

"Mr. Lambert, didn't Special Assistant Gavin say that he was not seriously ill? And did his operation succeed or fail?"

Joanne thought for a moment. Since the battle between her and Rosalyn subsided, she had never encountered such a big scene. She got overwhelmed by the questioning from the reporters and subconsciously shrank into Brian's arms.

For Brian, this group of reporters was not difficult to deal with.

But he was afraid that Rowdy's men were hiding among the reporters.

When Joanne leaned into Brian's arms, he subconsciously protected her and kept looking at his watch.

If his men could not rush over within 20 seconds, he would fire them today.

The first one who came over was Winston.

He looked around and asked, "Mr. Lambert, should we call security?"

Brian raised his hand and said in a cold voice, "No."

His men would have already arrived while Winston went to call security

It turned out that the people selected by Brian were very powerful.

Six or seven people quickly ran over and set up a warning line around Brian and Joanne, separating the couple from the group of reporters. They made sure that no one could touch Joanne.

Even so, the reporters were still unwilling to give up and asked loudly, "Mr. Lambert, why can't you answer our questions?"

Brian held Joanne's hand and said in a calm voice, "We can answer now."

The reporters seized the opportunity and hurriedly asked, "Is Special Assistant Gavin seriously ill? How is he now?"

Brian said slowly, "Gavin's situation was indeed not optimistic before."

A reporter suddenly raised his voice and asked, "What about now? How is he doing now?"

"He had an operation, and it went well." Brian did not hide anything and told the reporters truthfully, "He will recover after resting for a period. You will just need to wait for some time before he soon shows up in front of the public eyes again."

Gavin dealt with the media all year round, and he had a good relationship with some reporters.

As soon as Brian finished speaking, many reporters breathed a sigh of relief. Some even patted their chests and said with relief, "That's great!"

They knew that Gavin was fine, so they diverted their attention and targeted Joanne and Brian, asking, "Mr. Lambert, Mrs. Lambert, is there something up with you recently?"

Brian was always happy to talk about Joanne.

He faintly smiled and said, "If there is any news between Joanne and me, you will be the first to know." After that, he looked at his subordinates.

As Brian's subordinates, it was a basic skill for them to understand his looks.

Six or seven of his men tacitly stopped the reporters and said that Brian had other things to do, so the interview was over.

Looking at the backs of Brian and Joanne leaving, an experienced reporter said, "This is already a very nice result. If it was in the past, Mr. Lambert would never take any interviews."

Brian held Joanne's hand. Even merely judging from their backs, they were a perfect match.

As they went further and further away, the reporters could only sigh at their backs.

The couple soon arrived at the inpatient building, took the elevator, and went straight to the top floor.

Wendy woke up early and leaned on the table to read the examination materials. The breakfast aside had turned cold, and she only had half of it.

Seeing this, Joanne couldn't help teasing her. "Wendy, why are you so hard-working?"

Wendy made a face and said with a lack of confidence, "Many students have begun to prepare since summer vacation. I'm just making a frantic last-minute effort. If I don't work hard, I'll fail the exam."

Joanne called someone to bring over a new breakfast. She put it in front of Wendy and said, "You need to take good care of yourself first no matter what. In the following period, you still need to take care of Gavin, and how will you do that without proper strength?"

Wendy nodded with a smile. "Got it!" After that, she felt curious and couldn't help asking, "Joanne, you and Brian come so early. Where are Aiden and Romy?"

"I was worried about you, so I came to see you," Joanne said. "Aiden and Romy are at home. With Martha taking care of them, there will be no problem."

"I see."

As soon as she finished speaking, Wendy almost subconsciously raised her hand and patted her shoulders and the back of her neck.

This was something that people would do only when they felt their backs and waists aching.

Joanne looked at Wendy in confusion. "Did you review until late last night?"

"No." Wendy pointed to the sofa and said, "I slept on the sofa last night. I feel a little uncomfortable by my neck today since I woke up."

Joanne was even more confused. "Why did you sleep on the sofa?"

"Ahem!" Wendy secretly glanced at Joanne and said with some embarrassment, "I don't have a good habit of sleeping. Gavin just went through his operation. I was afraid of having his wound touched, so..."

Before Wendy could finish her words, Joanne subconsciously looked at Brian.

He already knew what Joanne was going to say. "I'll go to the director."

After Brian left for quite a while, Wendy still couldn't figure it out. She looked at Joanne in a daze and asked, "Joanne, why did Brian go to the director?"

"To get you an extra bed in the ward, of course," Joanne said helplessly. "you are preparing for the postgraduate entrance examination while taking care of Gavin. If you can't have a good rest at night, you will fall ill. You are a doctor, and you should know where your limits are."

Wendy certainly knew her limits.

However, because she was in a good mood, she was not worried at all.

She believed that even if she reached her limits, she could still hold on.

Wendy said with a smile, "Gavin will wake up in a few days, and I'll only be doing better and better!"

Joanne smiled and said nothing.

Sometimes, she really didn't know whether it was a good thing or not that Wendy was so optimistic.

It should be a good thing.

Because of her natural optimism, Wendy kept having hope during Gavin's treatment so as not to feel despair and sadness.

However, no matter how okay she forced herself to be, Joanne did not want her to stay optimistic forcefully.

In other words, she didn't want to see Wendy go through such a great challenge again.
