Chapter 1134 Wendy I Have My Unique Way

In the ward of the private hospital.

After lunch, Wendy and Joanne immediately rushed back to the hospital.

When she returned to the ward, Gavin had not yet woken up.

Wendy knew well that he needed to rest as a patient. If there was no accident, Gavin would sleep until three or four o'clock in the afternoon.

She didn't have to worry about anything. She just needed to work hard on her review with ease.

Wendy happily buried herself in the materials for the postgraduate entrance examination. When she finished reviewing, it was already five o'clock in the afternoon.

She subconsciously looked at Gavin. He was still lying on the hospital bed with his eyes closed, and he didn't seem to have any intention of waking up.

Wendy closed the book. She got up, walked to the edge of the bed, and squatted down. She rested her chin on the edge of the bed and looked at him.

The damage this operation caused to Gavin was more serious than she had imagined.

Otherwise, he would not have taken a nap for an entire afternoon since he used to be a man full of energy.

Wendy was worried about Gavin's well-being, but she quickly got over it. She pursed her lips and said, "Gavin, you can sleep as long as you want. Anyway, I will always be here!"

After that, Wendy planned to get up and continue to review the books.

However, before she could stand up, Gavin opened his eyes and said, "How can I fall asleep when you're so noisy?"

Wendy was stunned. She blinked and took a closer look. She found that Gavin was truly awake.

She suddenly became excited and so happy that she forgot everything. She pounced on Gavin and asked in great excitement, "When did you wake up?"

"Just now." Gavin touched Wendy's head and said helplessly, "You woke me up."

"Humph, I won't apologize to you. You've already slept for a long time anyway!" Wendy suddenly thought of something and pulled Gavin to ask, "By the way, are you hungry?"

Gavin pointed to the drip hanging on the bedside and said, "The nurse has been injecting this into me. I don't feel hungry at all."

"You can also eat something even if you're not hungry." Wendy encouraged Gavin with great interest. "What do you feel like eating? I'll call the guys to bring it over. It just so happens that it's time for dinner!"

Gavin supposed that his little girl wanted to eat something, but she was too embarrassed to eat alone, so she had to drag him along.

He thought for a moment and said, "I'll have some soup." Then, he named a kind of soup.

"Okay."

Wendy immediately jumped up and made a phone call to the restaurant. She ordered several dishes in one go and finally asked for soup for Gavin.

After hanging up the phone, Wendy was confused. She looked at Gavin strangely and asked, "Why would you feel like having soup right after you woke up?"

There was indeed a reason for Gavin to want to have soup at this moment.

The question Wendy asked was also appropriate.

Gavin thought about it and felt that there was no need to hide such a thing, so he told Wendy the truth.

"I grew up in an orphanage in America, but I know that I am from Arlington and which country I belong to. After I met Brian, he took me home. It was the first time I met Aunt Iris. Back then, she didn't know that I was an orphan. She cooked a meal for me, and it had that soup.

"When the meal started, Aunt Iris told me that it was the soup that every family in Arlington would make. The first thing I had during that meal was the soup in my bowl."

In the end, Gavin's emotions became more and more complicated, and his voice also lowered.

Wendy sat down. She rested her chin on her hands, looked at Gavin curiously, and asked, "What were you thinking about when you were having that soup?"

Gavin was lost in thought. After a while, he said, "I was wondering if my biological parents had made this soup before. If so, we would have at least tasted the same thing."

Since then, Gavin had been to Brian's house in America from time to time just to take a sip of the soup.

Now, even though he had found his biological mother, he still wanted to taste the soup that had given him countless powers in his youth.

After hearing that, Wendy had mixed feelings in her heart.

She hugged Gavin, gently pressed her cheek against his chest, and said, "No matter what kind of soup it is, Joanne definitely knows how to make it. I'll learn from her and especially make it for you in the future!"

"Really?" Gavin looked at Wendy for a moment and said with laughter, "Wendy, I don't think you need to do that. You don't have any talent for cooking. I'm afraid that you will be frustrated."

"I won't!" Wendy said firmly, "Joanne's cooking skills are great. If I take her as my teacher, my cooking skills will definitely be good!"

Gavin thought for a while and said, "Then, let's make an agreement first."

Wendy had thought that Gavin would ask her to make the soup for him first after she learned it, so she nodded without hesitation. "Okay!"

Gavin continued slowly, "If you fail, don't come to me crying." After that, he reached out his hand and pretended to make a pinky swear.

Wendy had planned to agree to Gavin's request. When she saw him reach out his hand, she subconsciously wanted to make a pinky swear with him.

Fortunately, before she could hook Gavin's finger, she realized what he had just said.

"What does he mean by 'if you fail'?

"This is so not cool! It was supposed to be a touching moment!"

Wendy glared at Gavin and decisively slapped his hand away. "Just you wait. I will definitely conquer you!"

Gavin smiled and said meaningfully, "Wendy, you've already conquered me."

"It's not enough to conquer you mentally!" Wendy said with a high fighting spirit, "I still need to conquer you in cooking!"

"Well..." Gavin thought for a moment and said suspiciously, "I think it's quite impossible."

Wendy had never seen a man who enjoyed discouraging his wife so much.

According to common sense, shouldn't Gavin fully support and encourage her at this time?

She punched Gavin in the chest and snorted. She said provocatively, "Just you wait!"

The two of them bickered for a while, and then the phone on the bed suddenly rang. The nurse said that some staff from a hotel had sent food over and asked if it was Wendy who had ordered it.

"Yes, I ordered it." Wendy said, "Let them bring it over."

The hotel staff was wearing a standard three-piece suit. He was in good spirits, wearing clean white gloves and a comfortable smile on his face.

The handsome lad handed the food in his hand to Wendy and said, "Congratulations on Mr. Gavin's successful operation. Bon appetit."

Wendy smiled and said, "Thank you."

She watched the handsome young man leave before turning back to the ward.

She ordered three dishes, as well as soup for Gavin.

Wendy opened the soup first, took out a small bowl, and put it on Gavin's bedside table. She said, "It's set. Come and have it!"

Gavin looked helpless. He put on a weak posture and motioned for Wendy to look at him. "How am I going to do that?"

Only then did Wendy realize that there was a wound on Gavin's head and he couldn't move at will. It was indeed not very convenient for him to eat by himself.

She was also confused. She followed Gavin's topic and asked, "That's right. How are you going to have it?"

Gavin didn't expect that Wendy still couldn't understand. He cursed in his heart. "Idiot!" He tried to continue guiding Wendy. "I have an idea."

Wendy was speechless and looked at Gavin with a strange look. "If you have an idea... why would you ask me? Are you bored?"

Gavin was quite irritated. He could only tell himself that he must be patient, so he simply said, "Wendy, I think it'll be a good idea that you'll help me with it."

Wendy thought for a while and had to admit that it was indeed a good idea.

She was just about to nod when she suddenly realized something. She stared at Gavin and asked, "This is your ultimate goal, isn't it?!"

Gavin did not speak, which meant that he had acquiesced to Wendy's guess.

He had brain surgery, not hand surgery. Even if his movements were affected to a certain extent, it would not be enough to affect his eating.

If it weren't for the sake of lying to Wendy to help him eat, he wouldn't have bothered to talk so much nonsense.

"Gavin, you are so childish!" Wendy roasted Gavin, but she picked up the soup and said, "If you want me to help you with the soup, just say it directly. Why did you have to beat around the bush?"

Gavin stared at Wendy for a while and explained, "Wendy, I just wanted to test your intelligence. You really didn't let me down. You're still so stupid."

Just now, his intention was so obvious, but Wendy still didn't play along. Wasn't she stupid?

Wendy stirred the soup in the bowl so that it could cool down soon. She stared at Gavin and said proudly, "Since you're a patient, I won't argue with you for the time being!

"Humph. When Gavin gets better, I'll get even with him!"

Gavin wasn't worried at all. On the contrary, he was looking forward to the time when Wendy would get even with him.

Looking at Gavin's indifferent look, Wendy sadly realized that she could not threaten him at all.

In that case, she'd better do what she was supposed to do.

Wendy scooped up a spoonful of soup and brought it to Gavin's lips. She talked as if she were pampering a child. "Gavin, be a good boy and open your mouth."

Gavin could only try to think that Wendy was doing this out of kindness. He told himself that she was not teasing him at all, opened his mouth, and had the soup.

The bowl was not big, and there was not much soup in it. Wendy felt that she had only brought the soup to him a few times before he finished it, and the bowl was empty.

She put down the bowl, looked at Gavin, and asked, "Does it taste good?"

Gavin stared at Wendy and asked instead of answering, "Do you want to try it?"

Wendy looked at Gavin and then at the soup left in the bowl. Her appetite was suddenly aroused. She nodded and said, "Okay, I'll have some too!"

"I'll help you with that," Gavin said.

"Haha!"

Wendy could not help laughing out loud.

She was very sure that Gavin must be joking.

He was a patient. Just now, he needed her to help him with the soup, but now he said that he was going to return her the same favor.

It was quite hilarious to her.

Wendy tried her best to stop laughing. She looked at Gavin and asked provocatively, "How are you going to do that?"

Gavin's eyes suddenly became very deep. He stared at Wendy's crimson lips and said, "Of course, I have my unique way to do it..."
