Chapter 1147 A Chance to See Yuna (1)

Joanne went to bed early yesterday and woke up much earlier today.

Before Aiden woke up, she quickly prepared two breakfasts, one for herself, and the other for Brian, which she had packed and brought over.

When Brian was having breakfast, Joanne was feeding Romy milk formula.

The little girl was probably really hungry. She had the formula and sighed. Occasionally, she loosened the pacifier to look at Joanne. She looked very cute while she was enjoying the formula.

After Brian finished breakfast, Romy was full and energetic, babbling in Joanne's arms.

Joanne looked at Romy, and she felt warm and sweet.

She had no other desires in her life.

At about eight o'clock, the attending doctor came over to perform a check-up on Romy. In the end, he said, "Romy can be discharged."

Joanne was still not assured, so she confirmed with the doctor again. "Is Romy alright now?"

"Yes, Mrs. Lambert. You can rest assured." The doctor nodded with a smile. "Romy is in good condition now, so there is no need for her to stay in the hospital for further observation. You should pay greater attention to her health from now on, and there won't be any big problems."

Joanne was finally relieved, and her voice was much more relaxed. "We got it, doctor. Thank you."

"You're welcome," the doctor said. "Remember to go through the formalities before leaving."

After that, the doctor left with the nurse, leaving only Brian, Joanne, and Romy in the ward.

Joanne picked up Romy and kissed the little girl's tender cheek hard. She couldn't help smiling and said, "We can go home now! Your brother was looking for you yesterday. Do you miss him?"

"Ah!"

Romy let out that kind of dolphin-like cry again. Two lovely dimples appeared on her cheeks, making her look like an angel that had descended.

Joanne could not help thinking that her daughter's smile might contain the beauty of the whole world.

Brian held Romy in his arms, and Joanne did not waste any more time. She packed up Romy's things and went downstairs with Brian.

After walking out of the elevator, Joanne suddenly thought of something. She tugged at Brian and asked, "Shall we tell Gavin and Wendy that we're leaving?"

Brian looked at the time and said, "Wendy has just finished the exam. I guess she is still sleeping at this time. We... we'd better not disturb them."

Joanne also felt that it was too early, so she decided to listen to Brian. She nodded and followed him out of the inpatient building.

Two cars were parked in front of the building.

Winston drove one over, and Brian's assistant drove the other over.

Brian pulled open the door of Winston's car and let Joanne get in first. Then, he handed Romy to her and said, "See you."

"See you." Joanne looked at Brian. "Go home early after work. I'll cook something delicious for you!"

Brian leaned over. Joanne thought he was going to close the door for her, but he suddenly approached her and whispered in her ear, "Joanne, to me, you're the greatest delicacy."

Joanne's ears were burning, and she subconsciously looked at Romy in her arms and breathed a sigh of relief.

Fortunately, Romy was still young and could not understand her father's meaningful words.

Joanne decisively pushed Brian out and slammed the door. She said to Winston, "Winston, please send me home!"

"All right."

Winston immediately started the car.

After the car had been driven for a long time, Joanne put Romy on the child safety seat and looked into the rear mirror. She saw Brian's car following her.

It was amazing that she had a sense of security.

At an intersection, Winston turned left, and Brian's driver turned right. Joanne and Brian officially separated and went on their own ways.

Joanne knew in her heart that she and Brian, in fact, would never be separated.

However, she heaved a sigh of relief at that moment.

Somehow, she felt glad to get rid of her dirty husband.

When Brian arrived at the company, it was exactly nine o'clock. He prepared the materials for the meeting and went to the conference room with his assistant.

When they passed by the secretary's office, Daisy stopped Brian and said with some lack of confidence, "Mr. Brian, we have a problem..."

If it was in the past, even if Daisy was given the courage, she would not dare to suddenly stop Brian like this.

However, since the birth of his two babies, Brian no longer showed his usual kind of murderous and decisive aura casually, and people would be less pressured around him. When he was in a good mood, he could even joke with them.

Brian looked at his watch and then looked at Daisy. "You have one minute and thirty seconds."

"That would be enough!" Daisy hurriedly asked, "Mr. Brian, we all want to know when Special Assistant Gavin can come back to work. Or, will he even be back?"

"He will be back." Brian was very sure. "You'll just need to keep waiting for a while."

As long as it was confirmed that Gavin would come back, it didn't matter to the staff in the president's office how long it would take.

Daisy knew that Brian had an important meeting to attend, so she did not dare to delay his time. She nodded and said, "Got it. Thank you, Mr. Brian!"

"You're welcome."

Brian did not say anything more and went to the meeting with his assistant.

At the same time, Joanne had just returned to Prime Villas.

It was the time when it was suddenly warm and still cold. As soon as Joanne got out of the car, the cold wind of spring blew over. Although it didn't contain bone-chilling coldness like a winter wind, it could still make people tremble when it blew on them.

"Hey, Romy is back."

Iris and Martha probably heard the sound of the car and ran out of the house together. The smiles on their faces were more brilliant than the morning sun.

Romy was very energetic on the way back. After getting out of the car, she had been moving around in Joanne's arms and looked around the surroundings curiously.

Joanne smiled and said to the little girl, "We're home!"

"Mm..." Romy seemed to have understood her mother's words. She widened her eyes, looked at Joanne, and grinned at her.

At this time, Martha and Iris were just coming over.

Iris held the little girl in her arms and took care of her like a peerless treasure. After teasing the little girl for a while, she asked Joanne, "What did the doctor say?"

"It's a little windy out here. Let's go into the house first." Joanne took Iris's hand and said as they walked into the house, "The attending doctor said that Romy is fine. As long as we pay more attention to her health in the future, there will be no big problems."

After that, they got into the house.

Iris sat on the sofa with Romy in her arms and said with a lingering fear, "I'm glad that she's fine. I only have her as my granddaughter. We can't have anything bad happen to her!"

Joanne turned to look at Martha and asked, "Is Aiden awake?"

When she went out, neither Iris nor Aiden had woken up yet.

Martha said with a smile, "Aiden woke up as soon as Madam arrived. It's very strange that he didn't cry after the first time he woke up today. I expected that he would be mad after he woke up, and I'd already prepared to pamper him. I didn't expect that I wouldn't need to do it at all!"

Joanne silently thought that Aiden should have known that his sister was coming back, so he was in a good mood and did not cry.

Thinking of this, Joanne actually felt a sense of accomplishment.

She motioned for Martha to go upstairs and said, "Please carry Aiden downstairs."

"Okay. I'm on it now."

Martha turned around and went upstairs. It did not take long for her to take Aiden downstairs.

Aiden usually had a cool expression on his face, and today was the same. The little boy looked at Martha calmly as if it didn't matter where Martha took him to.

It was not until he saw Joanne that the little boy moved his little hands. It seemed that he wanted Joanne to hold him.

"Aiden, I have good news for you." Joanne held Aiden in her arms and turned him slightly so that he could see Romy. "Look, your sister is back."

Romy also saw her brother. She grinned and a smile appeared on her delicate and lovely face. She looked very happy.

Aiden finally didn't have that cool expression on his face anymore. Just like when Brian saw Joanne, Aiden's face softened and he slightly smiled, which made him look like a little prince.

Iris looked at this scene and could not help sighing, "It's so nice."

Joanne smiled and did not speak.

However, she fully agreed with Iris's words.

While Joanne and Iris were playing with the two little kids at home, Brian was still in a meeting at the company.

The long meeting lasted for three hours.

When Brian came out of the conference room, it was already past 12 o'clock. The assistant followed him to the office and said, "Mr. Brian, lunch has been sent to your office. I think... I have the need to tell you about something else."

Brian replied with an "okay" and said, "Go ahead."

"Mr. Brian, please take a look at this invitation letter."

The assistant took out an invitation letter and handed it to Brian.

The letter had a Tiffany blue ribbon tied to it, and it looked rather mysterious.

Brian opened the letter. It was no different from an ordinary invitation letter, but someone invited him to a business banquet.

Brian did not like this kind of occasion in the first place. After getting married and having two little kids, he had more excuses to be absent from banquets. Usually, he would hand over this kind of invitation letter to his secretary or assistant and ask them to attend on his behalf.

However, if there was nothing special about this invitation letter, the assistant would not have mentioned it to him.

Brian asked directly, "What's wrong with this letter?"

"It's not about the letter." The assistant paused and said, "it's about the guest list. Mr. Brian, take a closer look."

There was a list of honored guests in the envelope. Brian glanced at it and found Rowdy's name.

Rowdy was the CEO of the Scott Group. It seemed that he managed the group very well, so it wasn't strange that he would receive this kind of invitation.

The assistant then pointed to a line of small words at the end of the invitation letter and reminded him, "Mr. Brian, take a look here. It's marked that every guest must bring a female companion, and so does Rowdy. If he attends it, will he... bring Miss Wallace with him?"

Brian's deep eyes slightly narrowed.

He put away the invitation letter and said in a deep voice, "Tell them that I will be attending this banquet."

The assistant was not surprised by Brian's decision. He nodded and said, "I'll reply right away. Mr. Brian, as for the other things...?"

Brian merely said, "Others will arrange them."

The assistant understood that he shouldn't worry too much, so he nodded and turned to work.
