Chapter 1148 A Chance to See Yuna (2)

In Lambert Villa in Prime Villas.

When the sun was setting, Iris got up and said that she was leaving.

Joanne looked at the time. It was 5:30, and it was almost time for dinner.

She stood up and tried to persuade Iris to stay. "Mom, how about you'll leave after dinner?"

"I won't have dinner here today." Iris refused with a smile. "I will play poker with Mrs. Megan and then have dinner with them. At this time... Brian should be coming back from work, right? You can eat with him!"

Joanne didn't say anything.

She did not expect herself to be abandoned just like that.

She saw Brian's schedule in the morning, which was full of various arrangements. According to her previous experience, she speculated that Brian would not come back early today.

However, she didn't need to tell her mom about this.

Since the old lady had an appointment with someone else, Joanne did not insist on keeping her. She raised Romy's hand and waved at Iris. "Grandma is leaving. Romy, say goodbye to Grandma."

"Wah!"

Romy played along and smiled at Iris.

Iris took it as a farewell and waved her hand at the little girl. "Romy, good girl. Listen to your Mommy. I'm leaving. See you."

It was not as cold in the evening as it was in the morning. Joanne went out with Romy in her arms and sent Iris to the gate.

Iris had a dedicated driver, who was arranged by Brian.

The senior driver was very skilled at driving, and the car was running steadily. After a while, Iris's car was gradually out of Joanne's sight.

Joanne held Romy in her arms and rubbed her forehead against the little girl's. "Grandma is gone. Let's go back!"

When she turned around with her daughter in her arms, she suddenly saw a familiar car getting closer and closer from the corner of her eye.

It seemed to be Brian's car.

Joanne looked at it incredulously and found that it was really his car.

"Isn't he busy? Why did he come back so early?"

Joanne stopped and stood there, watching Brian's car getting closer and closer. In less than a minute, the car stopped in front of the house.

Brian saw Joanne from a distance. As soon as the car stopped, he immediately unfastened his seat belt, walked to her, and asked with a frown, "Why are you out here? Where's Aiden?"

"He's asleep." Joanne stroked Brian's eyebrows with one hand. "Mom just left, and Romy and I came out to see her off. When I saw you coming back, I simply waited for you." The more she spoke, the more confused she became. She couldn't help asking, "However, why did you come back so early?'

Brian took Romy in his arm and held Joanne in his other hand. "Let's go back first. I have something to tell you."

Before Joanne could react, she had been pulled back to the house by Brian.

As far as she could remember, it had been a long time since he was in such a hurry.

Of course, some things were exceptions.

Back in the living room, Joanne looked at Brian more and more confusedly. "What's the matter?"

Brian handed the invitation letter to Joanne and then briefly told her the whole thing.

Joanne soon came to her senses. With a look of joy on her face, she grabbed Brian's hand and said, "If Rowdy is on the guest list, and the host requires every guest to bring a female companion, will we get a chance to see Yuna?"

"Yes." Brian said, "That's what I want to tell you."

Joanne's beautiful big eyes lit up, and she became excited. "Then we..." Before she could finish her words, she suddenly realized something and said gloomily, "What if Rowdy doesn't go? Wouldn't we be rejoicing too soon?"

"Don't worry." Brian's voice was faint, but his tone was particularly firm, "Rowdy will go."

Joanne looked at Brian curiously, asking, "How could you be so sure?"

Brian tried his best to explain it to Joanne in some simple words. "Rowdy is recognized as the CEO of the Scott Group. If he has any plans for the financial circle of Arlington, he will definitely not miss this banquet."

He meant that Rowdy was 99% likely to attend the banquet.

Joanne nodded and said, "Okay." Before Brian could speak, she continued, "I have another question!"

Brian did not know why Joanne would have so many questions.

However, he was happy to solve any of her problems.

Brian motioned for Joanne to continue and said meaningfully, "Tell me, and I may be able to help you find the solution."

Joanne's last question was also the most annoying one for her.

She looked at Brian and said with some hesitation, "Even if Rowdy will definitely attend the banquet, what if he doesn't bring Yuna with him? That will still make us rejoice too soon, right?"

Brian smiled lightly and motioned for Joanne to rest assured. "If Rowdy attends, he will take Yuna with him for sure."

Joanne suddenly stopped worrying about Yuna. Instead, she looked at Brian curiously and asked, "How do you know that?"

Brian sighed and looked very helpless. "Joanne, you can't judge others with your understanding."

The implication was that Joanne didn't have enough understanding to know it.

So it wasn't strange that he knew it while she didn't.

Joanne certainly understood what Brian meant, and she had long been used to this kind of complaint.

She was speechless and could only make things difficult for Brian on the original question. "How can you be sure that Rowdy will definitely bring Yuna there? At this time, he should be eager to hide her, right?"

"You know, when Yuna goes back this time, Rowdy must be trying his best to win her heart." Brian looked as if he was thinking about something. "It will be a good idea for him to take her to the banquet."

Joanne was still very curious. "Are you sure he will not bring anyone else to the banquet?"

Brian looked calm and very sure. "I am sure."

Joanne was not convinced, so she asked, "How could you be so sure?"

Brian raised his eyebrows and said, "Joanne, it's the same as me never bringing anyone else other than you to public occasions now."

Joanne seemed to have understood what Brian meant.

Rowdy loved Yuna and had even regarded her as his significant one. Unfortunately, he had not been approved by her, so he could only try his best to make her fall in love with him.

There were only a few ways for him to do that. It would be a good idea to take Yuna to the banquet, let her know how much he valued her, and let outsiders know that she was with him.

Before Joanne could say that she got it, Brian suddenly changed the subject. "But now there is a problem which I can't fix."

Joanne's eyes suddenly lit up. She leaned over and looked at Brian curiously. "What's the problem? Although I may not have a way out even if you tell me, it may delight me seeing that you can't fix it!"

Brian was speechless. He reached out his hand and flicked Joanne's forehead hard, making a loud sound.

"Ah!" Joanne covered her forehead which had been flicked by Brian in pain and looked at him angrily. "Is it wrong to get easily amused?"

Brian thought for a moment and said, "Maybe wrong." Then, he rubbed Joanne's head. "I've wronged you."

"Make it up to me!" Joanne sounded a little capricious. "Otherwise, I will be angry."

Brian said, "I can tell you the problem."

Joanne was speechless.

She was stunned. "Is he trying to make it up to me by telling me that?"

Before she could refuse, Brian had already told her his problem.

"Joanne, I don't know if I should tell Wesley about this."

Joanne could empathize with him. It was indeed a problem.

If he told Wesley that, even if Wesley was very calm when he heard the news, he would definitely react fiercely. No one could guarantee that Wesley would remain rational on the day of the banquet.

However, if Brian kept it from Wesley, it would mean that Wesley would miss a chance to see Yuna.

A touch of confusion flashed in Brian's deep eyes, which was rare. "Joanne, what do you think I should do?"

"At times like this..." Joanne thought about it carefully and finally said, "I think you can only flip a coin..."

Brian did not expect Joanne to have such an irresponsible way. He was completely rendered speechless.

Joanne also felt very helpless, but she really couldn't figure a way out.

Brian obviously knew Wesley better than her.

Since Brian couldn't figure out a way to deal with this, what could she do?

Just when both of them were lost in thought, Brian's mobile phone rang on the side.

Brian had thought that his company was calling, so he took the phone and found that it was Wesley's number shown on the screen.

Why would it be Wesley?

Joanne noticed that Brian was stunned. She leaned over and looked at the phone screen curiously. "Which powerful figure is calling you?"

She soon saw the number displayed on the screen. She remembered it clearly that it was Wesley's number.

It was unknown if it was because of a guilty conscience or some other reason, but Joanne only felt a chill all over her body. She couldn't help curling up and saying in confusion, "What a coincidence! Wesley is calling you... He's probably asking for something else, right?"

She was also completely stunned. She didn't know whether her last sentence was to comfort Brian or herself.

Brian's understanding of Wesley told him that if it was just an ordinary matter, Wesley would not suddenly call him.

As he thought about it, his look became a little dignified.

He picked up the phone. Before he could speak, Wesley's voice was heard.

"Have you received the invitation?"

Joanne also heard Wesley's voice. She rested her chin on her hand and looked at Brian. She gave him a comforting look and said, "Don't dwell on it. At least, you don't need to worry about whether to tell Wesley or not."

She was right. He didn't have to worry about it anymore.

Even if they didn't say it, Wesley had already known.

"I received it at noon." Since Wesley already knew, Brian simply asked, "What's your plan?"
