Chapter 1153 Aiden and Romy Can Kill the Pain

"Romy is crying very hard?"

Joanne suddenly forgot the pain and sat up. She nudged Brian and said, "Go to check on her now."

Brian nodded, got up, and walked out of the room. Martha was standing outside the door with Romy in her arms.

For some reason, Romy cried particularly loudly. Her voice was not as aggrieved as her usual cute voice. Instead, her crying was simply loud. It seemed that she was not feeling well.

Brian held the little girl in his arms and frowned. "What happened?"

Martha looked confused. She shook her head and said, "I don't know. She was fine, but she suddenly cried. I had no choice but to hold her over."

"It's okay now." Brian told Martha, "Go back to the room and look after Aiden."

"All right."

Martha didn't say anything more and turned back to the children's room.

Brian held Romy in his arms and pampered her patiently. Usually, the little girl would soon quiet down.

But today, for some reason, Romy didn't stop crying, and her crying became louder and louder.

Brian's frown deepened as well.

He had countless ways to deal with the company's cases.

However, when Romy cried, he felt nervously anxious, but there was nothing he could do.

Hearing the little girl's crying getting louder and louder, Joanne called Brian and said, "Bring Romy in."

Brian had no choice but to enter the room with Romy in his arms.

After entering the room, he found that Romy was still crying. Her sobs sounded particularly heartbreaking.

Joanne lifted the quilt and frowned slightly. "What's wrong?"

"Martha said that she suddenly cried." Brian's voice was low, and one could tell that he was very distressed and helpless. He guessed, "Is Romy crying because she got scared?"

Joanne reached out and said, "I'll hold her."

Brian handed Romy to Joanne, but the situation didn't get improved. The little girl was still crying loudly as if she had been bullied.

Joanne had no choice but to adjust the little girl's posture to make her feel comfortable. She took her into her arms and said, "Romy should be feeling uncomfortable."

Brian immediately frowned, and his voice was full of anxiety. "Uncomfortable?"

"Don't worry, it's not asthma." Joanne motioned for Brian to rest assured and continued, "As a newborn, her nerves have not been fully developed yet, and her stomach will occasionally spasm. When she feels pain, she will cry out."

Obviously, Brian was not in the mood to care about the nerves' development. He asked directly, "Is there any solution? Should we send her to the hospital?"

"Our daughter just came back from the hospital. She definitely doesn't want to go there again, and the doctors won't do anything about it." Joanne thought for a moment and said, "Go and get a hot towel."

Brian took a towel that had been disinfected, put it in hot water for a while, wrung it dry, and took it out to Joanne.

Joanne tried the towel and made sure that it would not burn the little girl's tender skin. Then, she gently lifted Romy's clothes and put the hot towel on her belly.

Maybe it was the heat that relieved the little girl's pain or the strange feeling brought by the hot compress, Romy stopped and looked at Joanne with her eyes widened.

Joanne kissed the little girl's forehead and asked softly, "Does it feel nice?"

"Mm!"

Romy couldn't answer. She protested in a crying voice, and her voice sounded pitiful.

"Good girl." Joanne pampered the little girl. "You'll feel better soon, okay?"

"Mm..." Romy pursed her lips and looked like she was about to cry again.

"Shush-" Joanne made a gesture to the little girl and appeased her softly. "Ask your daddy to bring your brother here. Let's sleep together tonight, okay?"

"Ah!"

Romy thought for a moment and finally did not cry. She made a cute dolphin sound as if she was going to agree to Joanne's request.

Joanne smiled and looked at Brian. "Go and bring Aiden here."

Brian looked at Joanne hesitantly and suspiciously. "Are you sure?"

He loved Aiden and Romy very much.

But he had a bottom line that no matter what, the two little kids had to sleep separately from their parents.

Self-dependence needed to be trained from a young age.

Of course, Brian would not admit that it was just an excuse.

What he was worried about now was if the two little kids would develop a habit of sleeping with him and Joanne.

Joanne really could not figure out what Brian had to worry about. She nodded affirmatively and said, "Yes, go ahead!" Then, she kissed Romy's cheek. "Be nice, Romy. Your brother will be here soon!"

Brian was speechless.

He had no choice but to bring Aiden over.

Aiden had just woken up. He was moving back and forth on the baby bed, but there was no obvious expression on his face. He looked lazy and aloof.

Martha had just made milk formula. When she saw Brian coming in, she smiled at Aiden and said, "Aiden, your daddy is here."

Aiden just lazily yawned.

Seeing this, Martha couldn't help smiling and thought to herself that Aiden might grow up to be a more powerful person than his father.

Brian directly picked Aiden up from the baby bed. The little boy pouted and looked at Brian unhappily as if he had been disturbed.

Brian raised his eyebrows and said, "Little guy, I'm taking you to your mommy."

Aiden finally stopped yawning and looked at Brian seriously. It was as if he was looking forward to Brian's next move.

Brian held Aiden with one hand and took the milk with the other hand. Then, he carried the little boy back to the bedroom.

In the bedroom, Romy had stopped crying. Joanne put her on the bed, and she was lying there obediently. She looked at Joanne with her clear and beautiful eyes. She smiled slightly, and two deep dimples appeared on her face, which made her look like a little angel.

Brian put down Aiden and let the little boy lie down with his sister.

Whether it was a coincidence or not, Aiden's hand moved slightly, and his little finger just hooked Romy's hand. Romy did not break free but kicked hard. She seemed to be very happy.

Joanne smiled and looked at Brian. "Look, I made the right decision. Only Aiden can appease Romy!"

Brian looked at the two little kids. They were happy, but their father could not be.

Brian announced in an unquestionable tone, "Joanne, this is not to be repeated."

Joanne agreed without hesitation, "Okay."

She had nothing to hesitate about, and she also knew why Brian had specifically emphasized that it was not to be repeated.

"If this happens again, I'll just bring the two little kids over.

"Anyway, Brian will definitely be soft-hearted when he sees Aiden and Romy.

"Even if he can't stand them, he can't possibly take them back.

"There will always be countermeasures!"

Brian handed Joanne a bottle of milk and fed the one in his hand to Aiden. He looked at Joanne and asked, "Does your belly still hurt?"

Joanne looked at the two little kids with satisfaction. "It doesn't hurt anymore after Aiden and Romy came here!"

Brian was speechless.

He had never thought that the two little kids would have a painkiller effect. He found it hard to believe that they could relieve Joanne's pain better than brown sugar soup could.

"Joanne," Brian suddenly said, "I changed my mind."

Joanne did not know what Brian was referring to at all. She looked at him in confusion and asked, "What did you change?"

Brian said lightly, "Before Aiden and Romy go to primary school, they can sleep with us during your period."

Joanne nodded in a daze. "What about other times?"

Brian bent down and looked at Joanne deeply. He emphasized word by word, "Joanne, at other times, you are mine."

Joanne suddenly felt upset for the two babies and looked at Brian incredulously. "So, you will just be using Aiden and Romy during my period?"

Brian looked as if it was a matter of course. "I found that they could distract you."

Joanne turned around helplessly and touched Romy's little face. "Sweeties, I'm sorry that your daddy is using you."

Romy waved her little hand and widened her eyes. "Ah?"

Joanne couldn't help smiling and kissing Romy's tender face. "Good girl, finish the milk."

This time, Romy was very well-behaved. She held the milk bottle in both hands and gulped down the milk. Occasionally, she would sigh with satisfaction, looking very cute.

Aiden was not in a hurry. He held the handle of the milk bottle with both hands and took a few sips. He looked like a little gentleman.

Joanne looked at the two little kids and felt happy.

After a while, she suddenly thought of Brian. She looked at him and said, "Go get busy with your work if you need it. I'll look after Aiden and Romy."

Brian did have work to do.

There were still some documents waiting for him to deal with in the study, as well as a lot of emails.

However, he did not want to leave Joanne and the two little babies.

Brian went to the study, brought the laptop and documents over, quickly dealt with the documents, and then turned on the laptop to answer the emails.

Joanne was playing with the two babies, and Romy occasionally laughed out loud. Her clear voice was like the sound of nature, which Brian would never get tired of listening to.

If life could always be so warm and quiet, Brian might be satisfied.

When Brian finished his work, Joanne was yawning, but Romy was still in high spirits and had no intention of sleeping at all.

Brian turned off the laptop, picked Romy up, motioned for Joanne to lie down, and said, "Go to sleep first. I'll take care of them."

At this time, Aiden also yawned. It seemed that he was going to sleep.

Joanne took Aiden over, leaned over, and gently patted the little boy on the shoulder to pamper him to sleep. At the same time, she whispered to Brian, "I'll leave Romy to you."

Romy was still babbling, looking innocent and tender. She was like the best gift from God in the world.

Brian rubbed his forehead against Romy's and asked, "Do you still want to play, huh?"

Romy was not sleepy at all. She wriggled in Brian's arms like a caterpillar and made a vague sound of "hmm".

Brian took it as a nod and compromised helplessly. "Okay, I will play with you."
