Chapter 1155 Don't Get Too Close to My Wife (I)

By the time Brian and Joanne settled the two little kids down, the pointer on the clock on the wall was pointing to the number nine.

Brian took Joanne's hand and asked, "Are you hungry?"

Joanne had no appetite every time she had her period, but after a busy morning, she was really hungry.

She nodded, handed the two little kids to Martha, and went downstairs with Brian.

The chef had prepared breakfast, two sets of very authentic western-style breakfasts. She also prepared a plate of fruit for Joanne.

Joanne didn't have much appetite. She didn't eat much breakfast, but she ate a lot of fruit.

The fresh fruits at home were delivered every day, and it was a bit cold today. Brian considered that Joanne was feeling uncomfortable with her belly, so he did not want her to eat too much fruit.

However, Joanne had no appetite for soybeans, roasted tomatoes, and the like on the plate. She looked at Brian pitifully and pleaded silently.

Brian could not bear to force Joanne, so he finally compromised and said, "I'll ask the chef to make porridge for you tomorrow."

"Mm!" Joanne happily ate a small piece of pomelo. "Okay!"

After the two finished breakfast, Wesley and Rolando arrived.

Wesley was still dressed in black, and his handsome face was aloof and serious. There was a faint murderous look in his every move.

He seemed to be born with a kind of indifference to others, like an emotionless cold-blooded animal.

No wonder Yuna didn't have the confidence to think that Wesley would fall in love with her at that time.

However, Rolando was the one who surprised Joanne.

She had thought that Rolando and Brian should be of the same age, but she did not expect that the young man was much younger than her husband.

Rolando seemed to be only 25 or 26 years old. He had curly flaxen hair and a very particular hairstyle. His facial features were delicate and emphatic. His skin was even fairer than that of an ordinary girl.

Rolando turned out to be a policeman with such an appearance.

The way he looked was a far cry from the image of the police that Joanne was familiar with.

Rolando was wearing a casual suit and a pair of white sneakers. He looked neat and fashionable and had a good figure with slender legs and broad shoulders.

If he worked in the entertainment industry, he would be a popular handsome star.

If he was in the crowd, he would be a perfect Prince Charming.

Perhaps it was because he was young, Rolando's handsome face had a wisp of arrogance, and it was very easy for others to associate him with a rebellious young man that refused to submit to others.

According to Joanne's experience, this kind of person either had extraordinary ability or an amazing background.

Coincidentally, Rolando had both.

Therefore, it was not surprising that he was cool, arrogant, and domineering.

Joanne thought for a moment and felt that Gavin should be on guard against Rolando.

Wendy tended to be infatuated with handsome men like Rolando.

What Joanne didn't know was that while she was thinking about Rolando, he was also paying attention to her.

Rolando had been traveling around the world since high school, and his tracks covered most of the countries in the world.

He had seen all kinds of people, including some peerless beauties with amazing facial features and amazing figures.

However, it was the first time that he had seen a lady like Joanne.

Joanne was very beautiful. This could almost be recognized by most people.

However, in this era where science and technology were highly developed, beautiful appearances were not lacking.

What really stunned Rolando was that Joanne was the kind of person who amazed people at first sight.

It was not only because of Joanne's exquisite facial features but also because of her neat and elegant temperament. She was noble but not aloof. Instead, she made people feel very close to her.

Rolando thought for a long time and finally came up with an appropriate way to describe Joanne. She was a woman who would make people happy.

What he couldn't figure out was - how could such a beautiful woman as Joanne be born in such an ordinary world.

After a moment of confusion, Rolando felt relieved.

God created Joanne and Brian.

Perhaps only a man like Brian would be qualified to marry Joanne.

Except for Brian, Rolando really couldn't think of anyone else who would be suitable to be with Joanne.

In this way, it was reasonable for some media to describe Brian and Joanne as a perfect match.

Thinking of this, Rolando couldn't help but show an expression of approval and nod.

Wesley noticed that Rolando was absent-minded. He didn't need to guess to know that it was because of Joanne.

Rolando had never seen Brian possessive of Joanne, so he naturally did not know that if he was so absent-minded again, the next time he saw Joanne would be decades later.

Wesley elbowed Rolando and hit him in the ribs with a move.

Rolando was caught off guard and felt as if he had a side stitch while running. He covered his ribs in pain and screamed. He glared at Wesley with hatred and asked in a low voice, "Wesley, did you do it on purpose?"

"Idiot," Wesley said lightly, "I was trying to save you."

"I don't need you to save me. You just did it on purpose!" Rolando glared fiercely at Wesley. Immediately, he switched back to his usual romantic and handsome appearance and walked gracefully to Joanne. "Hey, nice to meet you. I'm Rolando."

"I know you." Joanne smiled, "Brian has told me about the story of your name."

Rolando was speechless.

Rolando thought that he had heard it wrong. "Did Joanne say that Brian had told her the story of my name?

"That is to say, she may find it funny.

"It's not a big deal for those ordinary people to misunderstand something within, but Joanne is gorgeous.

"I can't allow a gorgeous lady to misunderstand me!"

Rolando looked at Brian with a fake smile. "Mr. Brian, you're so busy, and yet you still find time to tell others about my name. I can't thank you enough."

"You're welcome," Brian said in a sarcastic tone. "I don't want Joanne to misunderstand you because of your name."

"Hahaha..." Rolando gave an awkward laugh. He then turned to look at Joanne and explained, "It's easy to misunderstand my name at first, but in fact, it has a wonderful meaning!"

Joanne kept her smile and nodded. "I also know that."

"You even know this?" Rolando thought for a moment, looked at Joanne seriously, and asked with great expectation, "How much do you know about me?"

Joanne didn't say anything.

She swore that she knew this much.

"But why does Rolando ask this?"

Joanne could not understand for a moment. She looked at Rolando in confusion and did not know what to say.

"Joanne, don't worry about him." Brian took Joanne's hand and hid her behind him. He warned Rolando. "Don't try to get too close to my wife."

"Brian, you're really mean!" Rolando was angry when he saw Brian. He said unwillingly, "I just heard from Gavin that you are in love with someone, so you don't get close to other women. I was wondering what kind of person could make an energetic young man like you so aloof. Now I know that if I have a girlfriend like Joanne, I wouldn't love anyone else either!"

Brian smiled and said meaningfully, "My wife also doesn't love anyone else."

The implication was that Rolando could give up, and it was impossible for Joanne to like him.

Rolando was still a proud young man, and he didn't believe what Brian said. He looked at Brian provocatively and said, "Are you sure? You didn't dare to make it public who you loved because you were afraid of having me as your rival."

A mocking smile appeared on Brian's face. "I knew Joanne when she was ten years old. For so many years, I have never met an opponent."

Rolando was shocked. "Why?"

Joanne was so beautiful. How could Brian have no opponents?

Brian said slowly, "Those people aren't a match for me at all."

Only then did Rolando realize that it was not because Brian had never met an opponent before, but none of those people were worthy of being his rival in love.

Rolando had seen too much of Brian's arrogance, so he was very familiar with it.

The sad thing was, he still had no way to crack it.

Rolando decided to turn to Joanne and stretched out his hand to her, saying, "Nice to meet you."

Joanne gently held Rolando's hand and smiled. "Nice to meet you too."

Rolando looked at Joanne, and countless skills of flirting came to his mind. He suddenly said, "I regret it now."

Joanne was surprised and asked with uncertainty, "Do you regret meeting me?"

Rolando let go of Joanne's hand and looked at her thoughtfully. "My dad said that you used to work in the City Police Station. If I followed his arrangement and returned home immediately after graduation, maybe I could know you before you marry Brian."

Joanne pretended not to understand the meaning of Rolando's words and said with a smile, "We can still be friends now."

The implication was that no matter when she and Rolando met, they could only be friends.

Rolando was speechless.

He was extremely frustrated. He looked at Brian unwillingly and kept having a feeling that Brian was just pretending to be calm, but in fact, he must be very proud.

"This is so annoying!"

Brian did not intend to pay any more attention to Rolando. He walked up to Joanne and took her hand. "Go back to our bedroom and have a rest. I'm going to the study to discuss something with Wesley."

"I'm not tired." Joanne said, "Shall I make some coffee for you guys?"

Usually, Brian would be very happy to hear that.

But today, he felt that Joanne should rest.

"Leave that to Simon." Brian told Joanne, "It's not appropriate for you to do any chores now. Go back to the bedroom and have a good rest."

Joanne was indeed feeling a little uncomfortable, but she could still move.

However, at this time, she didn't need to explain that to Brian. She nodded obediently and watched him take Wesley and Rolando upstairs.

After Brian and the other two entered the study, Joanne first went to check on Aiden and Romy.

The two little kids had been taken back to the children's room by Martha, and they were both lying obediently on the baby beds.

Joanne touched their faces and said, "Be good, and don't cry. I'm going to make coffee for your daddy."

Aiden pouted and put his fist to his mouth. After a while, he seemed to suddenly think of something and obediently put down his hand. He looked at Joanne with a pair of black eyes that were very similar to Brian's for a moment.

"See you in a while!"

Joanne kissed the faces of the two little kids, turned around, went downstairs, and went straight into the kitchen.

She and Brian both liked coffee, and there was a complete set of coffee equipment at home. If they wanted to make a cup of coffee with good taste, they just needed a pack of nice coffee beans.

Joanne skillfully operated the coffee machine and soon made three cups of coffee. She put them on a tray and took them to the second floor.

This time, Brian closed the study's door.

It seemed that the matter was more serious than she had imagined.

Simon saw Joanne standing at the door of the study with coffee in her hands and could not help asking, "Madam, do you need any help?"

Joanne looked at Simon and asked with some hesitation, "Will I disturb them if I go in now?"

The main reason why she had this concern was that she didn't know what Brian and Wesley were talking about in the study.
