rime Villas.
Last night, Brian suddenly went out and didn't return all night.
When Joanne woke up early in the morning, she had a vague feeling of a very bad premonition in her heart.
However, she couldn't tell exactly what bad things would happen, so she could only harbor apprehension and wait uneasily for Brian to return.
She didn't know what she was supposed to do until Brian came back.
The only thing she knew for sure was that there were two other little ones she needed to take care of.
As soon as Aiden and Romy woke up, they babbled for their mommy, and Joanne fed them milk to temporarily distract them.
After drinking the milk, Martha carried the two little ones away, saying that she wanted Joanne to eat breakfast in peace.
Joanne looked at the clear porridge and small dishes in front of her and had no appetite at all, instead she kept looking at the cell phone next to her.
She was waiting for Brian's words, or just a message or not.
Simon came over, saw the situation, and said, "Ma'am, if you want to call Mister, go ahead, it's okay."
Joanne also knew it was okay.
However, if Brian was dealing with something important, she didn't want to distract him.
Joanne just hardened herself against the urge to make a phone call and ate her breakfast slowly and tastefully.
Halfway through her meal, she suddenly stood up, wiped her hands, and headed toward the kitchen.
Simon was busy and asked, "Mistress, what's wrong?"
"I'm going to prepare the noon meal." Joanne puts on her apron with a sharp hand and says, "So that Brian can eat when he comes back."
"But, ma'am-" Simon reminded helplessly, "You haven't finished your breakfast yet!"
Joanne froze for a moment as if she had just realized this, then shook her head, "It's okay, I'm not hungry."
Simon sighed and tried to persuade Joanne to finish her breakfast first.
However, the old man turned around and thought that it would be good for Joanne to find something for herself to do, and in the end didn't say anything and turned around to go out.
Joanne was distracted, full of thoughts about how Brian is doing, and almost hurt her hand a few times while cooking, but luckily she reacted in time in the end to avoid a few bruises.
After making three dishes and one soup, Joanne looked at the time, it was almost noon.
Her heart, as it were, was set on fire and scorched.
If Brian didn't come back, she couldn't care less about disturbing or not disturbing, she was going to call him.
After making up her mind, Joanne took off her apron and walked out of the kitchen.
Unexpectedly, this time out, just happened to see Brian back.
In an instant, Joanne was like a person on the verge of death seeing the hope of life, jogging all the way towards Brian, finally stopping in front of Brian, looking at him with unblinking eyes.
Brian looked tired, but when he looked at Joanne's eyes, he still had a hidden smile and asked, "What's wrong?"
"Why are you back at this hour? What the hell happened?"
The worries and anxieties Joanne had accumulated from the moment she woke up until now all leaked out in these words.
"Fool, I'm fine." Brian gently stroked Joanne's face, "I'm going to take a shower first, other things, I'll talk to you later."
Brian's sentence that he was fine, Joanne's heart had settled down by a large margin, she nodded and went up to get Brian's clothes.
When handing the clothes to Brian, Joanne casually asked, "Was Wesley with you last night? Did he go back to the hospital?"
"When I came back, he was already gone." Brian said, "If there are no surprises, he should be almost at the hospital."
Joanne "oh" sound, pushed Brian into the bathroom, just turned around, received a call from Yuna.
Yuna was pregnant and much more sensitive than usual, and she was bound to be anxious when she couldn't contact Wesley.
Joanne calmed Yuna and told her that Wesley was fine.
However, she didn't tell Yuna that perhaps something bad had happened.
Yuna was in poor health and pregnant with a child, the less she knew, the better.
There were many things that simply didn't need to be known to her, leaving her with empty worries.
Joanne believed that Wesley must have decided the same.
Not long after hanging up the phone, Brian came out from the shower.
Brian looked at Joanne, and underneath her beautiful peach blossom eyes, there were still remnants of anxiety and uneasiness.
She took Joanne's hand and said, "Go to the study."
Joanne suddenly flinched, pulled Brian and said, "Let's go down to eat first. If there's anything, let's talk about it after dinner."
She worried that if she knew what was really going on first, she wouldn't have the stomach for dinner.
Brian thought about it and felt that it would be good, so he nodded and brought Joanne downstairs with him.
The three dishes and one soup, which had just been made recently, wafted a rich aroma through the dining room, but next to the lunch, there was an uneaten breakfast.
Brian pulled out a chair, let Joanne sit down, and casually asked, "What's this?"
"This ... that ..."
Joanne didn't expect that Simon didn't clean up, and was thinking about how to stall Brian, when Simon said, "This is the breakfast that Madam didn't finish."
But, judging by the portion size, this breakfast was not left unfinished, but not touched at all.
Brian looked at Joanne,"You didn't have breakfast?"
Joanne of course would not tell the truth, feigned calmness and said, "I am ... not hungry in the morning. So it was like ... simply prepare lunch and wait for you to come back to eat together."
Brian didn't need to guess to know that Joanne didn't have an appetite because she was worried about him.
He gave Joanne a vegetable and put it in her bowl, before asking, "Why didn't you call me?"
"I ..." Joanne hesitated, not knowing what to say.
Simon pretended to be passing by, and coldly floated out a sentence, "Sir, Madam said that she was afraid of disturbing you."
Before Joanne could react, Simon floated away again.
In the large dining room, only Joanne and Brian were left.
Joanne's expression was a bit unnatural, but on second thought, she couldn't figure it out what was so embarrassing about it?
She's worried about Brian!
Joanne lifted her head, looked frankly straight at Brian and said, "When you went out yesterday, you didn't tell me exactly what you were going to do. Of course I knew I could call you, but in case you were dealing with something very important, I didn't want to distract you, so I didn't call you."
Brian put down his chopsticks, looked deeply at Joanne and said, "Even if you don't call me, you are still distracting me at all times."
Joanne had a face of aggravation that she couldn't figure out, "This pot, are you sure you want me to take the blame??"
Brian pondered for a moment, then suddenly changed his words, "It's true that you shouldn't be blamed."
Joanne was about to laugh when she heard Brian continue, "I miss you, all because I can't control myself."
The implication is that he has himself to blame.
"..."
Joanne froze, not knowing what to say for a moment.
Although she hadn't dated anyone else, she could be certain that Brian was one of the men who knew how to talk about love.
She looked at Brian suspiciously, "Mr. Lambert, your love language is so smooth, have you practiced it a long time ago?"
Brian just said, "Joanne, you don't understand men."
Joanne looked curious, "Then come and tell me so I can understand?"
Brian slowly said, "No matter what kind of man, after meeting the person he likes, love words can come at his fingertips."
Joanne thoughtfully nodded, "It sounds ... very reasonable."
"Joanne, I actually told you, as long as you want, you can call me anytime." Brian looks at Joanne and says word for word, "You don't need to think about whether or not you will disturb me. You are never a disturbance to me."
The implication was that Joanne was different from others.
Even if Joanne's call would disturb him, he was willing to do so.
Joanne's heart was undeniably sweet after hearing Brian's words.
How fortunate that for Brian, she was a special being.
The sweetness, however, did not last long.
After dinner, Brian took Joanne back to his study and asked, "Are you ready?"
What exactly happened between last night and this morning, Brian felt that it was time to let Joanne know.
The reason Joanne pulled him down to eat first just now was because she wasn't ready.
So now, he asked Joanne first if she was ready.
Joanne took a deep breath, nodded, and said, "I'm ready."
Brian let go of Joanne's hand and operated the computer to open a web page, signaling Joanne to see for herself.
As soon as Joanne read the headline, she felt as if the world had come crashing down-
"Hong Shui Shing testified that he had nothing to do with the money laundering case, the real culprits surfaced and Hong Shui Shing has been released by the police".
Joanne scrolled down sharply to look at the report in detail.
The report said that the police had always suspected that Rowdy had used the Soo Group to launder | money, but recently, Rowdy provided the police with a piece of information proved that he had nothing to do with the money laundering case, everything is Soo's vice president of the manipulation and direction of the conspiracy.
Rowdy also said that all along, he was innocent, so he willingly cooperated with the police investigation.
Kent Swee Cheng's lawyer asked the police to release Kent Swee Cheng on the grounds of insufficient police evidence.
The police had no choice but to release Conrad City and issue a press release.
Joanne read the entire report and only felt a darkness in front of her eyes.
Rowdy obviously carries a murder case, obviously does no evil, and obviously deserves to be punished by the law.
However, he actually proved his innocence and the police released him.
Joanne let go of the mouse and turned around, looking incredulously at Brian,"How is this ... possible?"
"Joanne," Brian's tone was helpless, but he still maintained absolute calm, "Things have already happened."
Which means it's true.
That's right, other than something related to Rowdy, what else could keep Brian and Wesley busy for an all-nighter?
Joanne felt ridiculous and shook her head, "Are we just going to let Rowdy get away with it?"
