Chapter 183 Is It A Dream? (1)

Chris hesitated for a second. However, that was not traceable enough for Freya to catch it.

He pushed the phone in front of Freya. "Do you want to check?"

Freya picked up the phone and swirled it twice in the air. "If there were any secret on this phone, would you have given it to me still?" She leaned forward and stared at Chris's eyes. "You must be hiding them in a place I can't find."

Chris smiled. "Where is it, for instance?"

Freya pointed to the place where his heart was. "Here!"

"Stop it." Chris pushed her hand away. "Hurry up. We still need to go to the company. And give me a set of your keys here."

"Why?" Freya simply ignored Chris. "This is my home. No matter how much I love you, you need to have permission from me to set foot on my land. Besides, this is not fair at all."

Moreover, she was a girl, and it would be so disgraceful to give the keys to a man!

Her cold attitude almost enraged Chris, but her next sentence inadvertently pleased Chris instead.

Chris was being unprecedentedly good-tempered and took out his backup keys. "Is it fair now?"

"Wow!"

Freya stared at the set of keys, took them to swirl them in the air, and curiously watched Chris. "Are you serious?"

She had pestered Chris for so many years, so she knew that he never brought a woman home.

But now, he gave the keys to her? He scared her.

"Do I look like I'm joking?" Chris did not bother to explain further, so he asked, "And your keys?"

Freya thought about it, took the spare keys in the porch and gave them to Chris. "The question is, what do you want to do with my keys? For a surprise attack?"

Chris put away the keys. "I don't want to knock when I come here in the future."

Freya did not understand the deep meaning of Chris because she just thought that she would have a delicious breakfast if he came. She did not seem to lose anything, so why should she turn down the offer?

After breakfast, the two went downstairs together. Jack was already waiting, and Freya smiled. "Chris, how about a ride to my company on the way?"

Chris said, "Where's your car?"

"It's early rush hours, the fewer cars on the road, the better. Besides, this is environmentally friendly!" Freya deemed her excuse perfect.

However, it was useless. Chris did not agree to send her, but let Jack go hail a taxi for her.

"Stingy." Freya let out a "humph" and called Jack back. Then, she went to the garage for her car.

She had long legs and wore seven-centimeter-high high heels. She strode while her long curly hair scattered around her shoulder. Though looking glamorous, she also appeared angry. Even from her back, people could tell she was still upset.

Jack had to ask Chris in doubt. "Why don't you just tell her?"

"Then she'll be making trouble, and I don't want to make a scene."

Chris looked at Freya's figure disappear at the entrance of the underground garage. He opened the door and sat in the back seat and went to the company.

On this day, as usual, the weather in the early autumn was cold, and every second of the twenty-four hours passed step by step without being noticed.

Different from yesterday, Freya was in a good training state today, and even Candy could not help but tease her. "Is there any good news?"

However, Freya did not intend to share any, but smiled mysteriously and continued training hard.

Chris also felt very good today. Maybe because he finally slept well last night, he felt clear-headed all day. His mind was as active as a living animal, and he rarely greeted back the staff when they greeted him.

Secretaries of the secretary office couldn't help but gossip about what happened to Chris. One said, "Has Boss Scott had a new girlfriend?"

"Impossible." Ada, who was the most experienced secretary among them, said, "I have watched him switch from a girl to another. He has never been so happy before."

Everyone guessed that it must be great news.

When they were about to go off work in the afternoon, one of Chris's commands made everyone's jaw drop in the secretary office.

He wrote a grocery list and asked them to buy everything on it.

If they were some daily necessities, it would not have caused a sensation in the secretary office. However, besides oil, salt, sauce, and vinegar, there were also beef, lettuce, ginger, garlic, and a lot of spices.

"My goodness." Ada patted her chest. "Does he want to be a chef?"

Someone wondered. "Did he... find a girlfriend who can cook very well?"

In the end, Ada still had people go to the supermarket to buy the items on the list, and then put them on Chris's car.

At six o'clock, Chris left the company. The driver asked him where he was going. He told the address of Freya's Apartment.

The driver did not know Chris as Jack did, so he thought that he had misunderstood and was dazed before he finally started the car and headed for the apartment.

During the evening rush hours, the car drove slowly on the way. After half an hour, the car finally stopped at Freyasi's apartment. Chris asked the driver to pick him up tomorrow, and then took two big bags and went upstairs.

The housekeeping auntie had cleaned the apartment, and every corner of the living room and the bedroom was spotless. Freya had not returned yet, but Chris did not call her. Instead, he changed into some comfortable clothes and put the groceries in the kitchen or the refrigerator, and then he started to cook rice and prepared ingredients.

Considering the current situation of Freya, the dishes he made were almost all low-calorie vegetarian ones, and the rest ones were bone soup and steamed fish.

After finishing cooking and cleaning up the kitchen, it was already past eight o'clock. Then, he kind of wondered-Why hadn't Freya come back yet?

He called Freya, and she picked it up in an instant. "Are you still at the company?"

Freya said, "I am home."

Home?

Chris glanced at the empty apartment and suddenly realized that she had moved back to the villa in the suburbs to live with her parents. She stayed here last night because it was too late when she left the company.

"What's wrong?" Freya asked in doubt, "Why do you call me?"

"Nothing." Chris's tone unconsciously became rigid.

Slow as Freya, she could still notice something. "Chris, you... you didn't go back to my apartment, did you?"

He thought that Chris took the keys to swing by occasionally. Who would have thought that he went there so soon?

"I am with my dad at home." Freya said in an apologizing tone, "And, I have moved back home, I... I just stayed the night that day."

"I know."

After that, Chris hung up the phone. When he saw the delicious four dishes and one soup on the table, he suddenly lost his appetite. After taking several bites, he sealed the bowls with plastic wrap and put them in the refrigerator.

He suddenly realized how that incident changed Freya. She no longer rebelled against her parents, began to die down her personality and became a good daughter who would keep her parents' company.

Would she listen to her family's arrangements to marry Travis?

Chris suddenly felt annoyed and turned on Freya's computer. He logged into his mailbox to handle emails but found himself restless.

When it was past eleven o'clock, he lay down on the bed but did not feel sleepy at all.

The doctor told him that every insomniac had their way to fall asleep.

He once thought that as long as he came to Freya's home, he could fall asleep. Now he discovered that the key was not Freya's home, but Freya herself.

Later, Chris fell asleep, and he did not even know how.

In contrast to him, Freya, far away from him in the suburbs, felt much more comfortable. After dinner, she played chess with dad and went back to the room at 11 o'clock to sleep as scheduled. However, she woke up very early the next day. Skipping breakfast, she said she needed to go to the company early and then drove straight to the apartment in downtown.

When she arrived, it was past seven o'clock. She sneaked into the room and found Chris's coat on the sofa in the living room, and her laptop was on the coffee table. Chris obviously did not leave.

She felt secretly happy, took off her shoes, and tiptoed to push the bedroom door open. As expected, Chris was lying on the bed wearing a blindfold, apparently in sound sleep.

He looked gorgeous as well when he was in sleep, and without the quiet fierceness during the daytime, which was much more downCtoCearth.

Freya resisted the urge to tease Chris. After considering, she decided to prepare breakfast for him to soothe the pain he suffered last night.

However, when she opened the refrigerator, she was utterly stunned, and as a smile slowly spread across the corner of her lips, her eyes were inexplicably red.

This was not the most sumptuous meal she had ever seen, but it was the one that moved her the most.

Who would have thought that Brian came here after work and prepared meals, but only to face an empty room?

Was he depressed for a long time?

Freya wiped the corners of her eyes and put rice in the cooker. Then, she took out the soup and vegetables from the refrigerator and lifted the plastic wrap to put them into the microwave.

She did not have Joanne's cooking skills and could not even bake bread. Therefore... it was best to heat the dishes Su Yingcheng cooked to serve as breakfast.

In less than ten minutes, the soup and the dishes were all well heated, and the rice was still being cooked. Freya thought about it and quietly returned to the room.

Chris still lay in the previous position. Freya to bed, took off his eye mask, and picked up a feather on the bedside table to brush his face. He didn't react, so she continued to brush his lips and neck.

At the first time, she saw Chris, she had feasted her eyes on him. At that time, she felt magical because she thought. "How can someone grow such a perfect face?"

After so many years, when looking at him more closely, she still could not pick out any flaw.

She silently sighed that God was too biased to some people!

Thinking like that, she increased the strength on her hand, and then Chris frowned in his sleep. She suddenly had a sense of accomplishment and exerted more effort into it. In the end, she even poked his face. Then, Chris finally slowly opened his eyes.

"Chris, you are dreaming." She swayed the feather in front of Chris's face and kept hinting. "You're dreaming of Freya, dreaming that she's kneeling beside your bed and talking to you."

Chris squinted and stared at Freya, looking dubious. Freya wanted to play more and hinted at him again. "You suspect that you are not dreaming, but you are dreaming. Have you seen Freya? Tell me, is she beautiful?"

Chris would no longer be himself if he was really fooled by her. He grabbed Freya's wrist and pulled her to the bed. In an instant, most of her body was on him, and his arm was wrapped around her. He had easily trapped her.

Freya struggled, while Chris said leisurely, "I am really dreaming?"
