It was almost late at night, but there were still many cars coming into and out of the parking lot.
Before getting on the car, Chris dialed Jack's phone.
"I had watched the live show of the Top Model. It was really dangerous," when he picked up the call, Jack said. "However, how could Miss Norris's shoes be broken? Was it an unfair competition?"
"It is in all probability." Chris's sight was deeper than the night. "Go to find out what happened, and let me know once you find out."
"Yes, I know," Jack said. "I'll be on it right now."
Chris hung up the phone. The driver came over and opened the door for him. "Boss Scott, would you like to back to the apartment, or..."
"You can go off work now." Chris interrupted the driver. "I will go back myself."
The driver was stunned and said, "Please drive safely."
Chris took the key and sat in the driver's seat, and then drove out of the TV station. He suddenly pulled over and stopped the car in front of a intersection.
Coincidentally, there were two roads. The straight one was the way to home and the turning one was toward Freya's home.
His eyesight focused on the intersection of the two roads, and the scene he saw when he went out of the TV station appeared in his head.
Travis came with a bunch of fresh roses. Freya took the flowers and her smile was more brilliant than the roses. She hooked Travis by his shoulders, which seemed to get well with him again.
They left one by one finally. There was no doubt that they must go for a celebration.
Thinking of that, Chris's eyesight became darker. He stepped on the gas pedal to turn and drove the car into another road.
At this time, Freya was still in the bar with her so-called friends.
In the past several years, she spent her time there for almost half of the nights. Every part of her body couldn't be more familiar with rules and music in this kind of place.
Therefore, it wasn't long before she turned back to the one she used to be, to become the focus of all, shining like a proud queen. The only difference was that the queen was not as arrogant as before, and drank as little as possible.
To her surprise, those people didn't boo to ask her to drink liquor when she was drinking juice, but just teased her.
"Freya, you are not like those who only drink juice!" Someone snickered and cued Travis. "Travis, did you ask Freya not to drink?"
"It must be!" Someone echoed. "When I said during the day that we must get Freya drunk tonight, Travis glared at me and I was terrified to death."
As they talked, they burst into laughter.
Freya was aware now that these people didn't dare to joke her and Travis directly, so they connected them in such a subtle way.
"Shut up!"
Freya put the juice cup on the table fiercely and was about to get angry, but suddenly felt something strange with her body.
The temperature in the bar was well controlled, but she felt hot very much.
"Forget, just clarify the rumors now."
As soon as Freya opened her mouth, Travis came up suddenly and pulled her away.
"What are you doing?" She struggled to get rid of Travis. "I have nothing with you. If we don't clarify it now, how long will they misunderstand?"
"You can't blame them," Travis said helplessly. "Uncle Norris told everyone he met recently that he would arrange our wedding. So all of them think that we'll get married sooner or later."
"What?" Freya opened her mouth in surprise and took a deep breath, seemed to almost faint.
Then, she glared at Travis angrily. "Wouldn't you deny it?"
"Don't I make Uncle Norris lose face if I do that?" Travis's lips raised slightly but just looked like to be self-deprecating anyhow. "Freya, will you never forgive me for that thing? Do you feel disgusting even if you have the slightest connection with me?"
In the heat of the emotion, Freya almost nodded.
But once, she and Travis like used to support each other like siblings. She had unburdened herself to Travis, and regarded him as a friend like Joanne.
"Travis." her voice became helpless. "We could have been good friends."
Travis seemed to breathe a sigh out of his chest. "... Freya, we are all happy tonight. Can we solve this problem next time? Besides, if you and Chris are together, the rumor you hate will be broken automatically."
Freya just wanted to say something, but suddenly felt that the temperature inside her body was higher, and even the neck was hot.
"Go away." she frowned and drove Travis.
"What's wrong with you?" Travis found that Freya looked unusual and stretched out hands to help her. "Do you feel uncomfortable?"
Freya looked at Travis's hands and suddenly felt fear. She didn't want to be touched by other people's hands. She had a hunch that she would be dragged into hell once she was touched.
"Go away!" She flexibly avoided Travis and growled. "Call Candy over!"
Travis went to find Candy. Freya ran into the bathroom. Then she opened the faucet and poured cold water on her face, and then found that her cheeks had turned red in some point.
Actually, it was a kind of dubious blush.
Vaguely, she understood what had happened, and bit her wrist fiercely, trying to keep herself awake with pain, and then stumbled out.
She didn't know whether she stood firmly or not but she felt that the temperature of her body was soaring and the whole world in front of her was rotating. The glaring lights and the dynamic music were also spinning around her, which formed a subtle streamer and strange noise.
She felt that she was crumbling.
"Hey, Freya." Someone pushed her from behind, which made her stumble and rush to Travis in her way. The person who pushed her whispered in her ear. "Our Master Wesley can help you..."
Now, Freya could be sure that her drink must be drugged.
The one who did it was probably the one who pushed her.
She pushed Travis away and stood firmly, and then turned back slowly to see that one behind her. Then she raised her lips and kicked him away.
The strength of her body was gradually losing. Because she did not have much strength in her anymore, the man just staggered, which made it more look like that she was just messing with him.
Those who did know the truth began to laugh again. "Hey, Jay, why did you provoke Freya? Be careful. Master Wesley will be jealous."
"Right." Many others echoed. "Freya will flirt only with Master Wesley tonight."
Freya felt so wronged that she wanted to burst into dirty words.
Travis knew well about Freya. He also perceived that she was unusual, and then he walked over. "Freya..."
"Don't touch me!" Freya's face looked cold. "Where is Candy?"
Travis replied helplessly, "She is on the phone outside and will come in soon."
As soon as his voice fell, Candy rushed in a hurry. "Freya, what happened to you?"
Like seeing the savior, Freya threw herself over Candy. "Send me back and don't let anyone follow us."
Candy had been in the showbiz for so long that she had seen too much. Once she saw the special red color on Freya's face, she knew what's wrong with her. Without saying anything, she supported Freya to go out.
At this point, no matter how stupid he was, Travis realized what happened. He caught the young man who had been kicked by Freya and asked, "What the fuck did you do?"
The young man shrugged his shoulders. "We all know that you like Freya. But that girl is just obsessed with Chris. So we want to help you with a special method."
"You are crazy!" Travis was furious. "Freya will be furious, and she will do everything to send you into the prison even if she'll hurt herself as well. Do you know that?"
"She won't." The man smiled confidently. "I have considered previously. Now Freya is a public figure and just happened to win the weekly champion. She is the most talked-about person. So she certainly dares not to make this thing well-known. She will swallow the bitter pill in silence and you can pick a great bargain. What... Ah!"
Before he finished, Travis kicked him fiercely. "You don't know Freya at all."
"First, Freya is never a person who allowed herself to be bullied.
Second, she never fears that things will be known.
Third... she's smarter than they think."
Travis closed his eyes. They thought that they were creating opportunities for him and Freya. In fact... This time Freya would really no longer forgive him.
As it turned out, Travis's prediction was right-
Freya totally knew what they were thinking.
The drug was gnawing her. Freya huddled in the passenger's seat. She felt as if she were pricked by numerous needles. She hugged herself and desperately suppressed the emptiness that would engulf her.
"Freya, let me send you to the hospital," Candy said.
"No." Freya bitted her teeth and suffered the pain. "If it was before when no one knew me, it would be OK. But now if I go to the hospital, the medical staff may disclose the news. What about my career?"
Candy had to say something else to distract Freya. "What are you going to do tomorrow?
"Of course, I am going to find them to revenge." Every word said by Freya was full of anger. "Those fucking jerks believe that I don't dare to kick up a fuss. Tomorrow I will turn them upside down!"
She was really uncomfortable, but she was embarrassed to call out, so she had to bite on her wrist.
It had been useful just now, but at present, this pain couldn't distract her attention anymore. Candy had no way but blamed herself and sped up. "It is also my fault. After Travis sent me a text message, I shouldn't have sent you over."
"After I leaked Chris's plan to him, as long as I run into him, there won't be a good thing." Freya controlled herself and resisted the feeling of exhaustion. "You need to be more alert in the future. Don't push your artist into the fiery pit again."
Candy said with a forced smile. "I thought Travis just wanted to make you happy."
Maybe it was true, but Travis did not understand the current Freya, who alienated those wine friends because she just did not want to live the previous life. But Travis was trying to pull her back since he believed that she would be happy living that way.
In fact, however, Freya had woken up long before, and she did not want to live without direction and regulation.
Half an hour later, the car stopped in front of the gate of Freya's apartment. Candy helped Freya get out and said, "Let me send you upstairs."
"It's OK," Freya waved hands and said. "Aren't you busy tonight? It is already downstairs and I'm OK."
Candy really had something to go back to handle, and Freya seemed to control herself well. So she loosened her hands. "If you really can't stand it, don't force yourself and call me."
Freya nodded and staggered into the apartment after tapping her card. She couldn't help biting herself again after entering the elevator.
When she hardly walked out of the elevator, she took out the key and opened the door quickly. After entering the door, she almost collapsed in the hallway.
Finally, with the power even Freya didn't expect, she walked toward the living room by holding the wall. After a few steps, a tall figure suddenly appeared in the darkness.
She pressed her chest and gasped, and then almost fell to the ground with fear.
