After watching it for a long while, Joanne still couldn't understand what her cool husband was doing, so she had to point to the computer and ask, "What happened to it?"
"It was attacked by a virus."
Everyone had heard of computer viruses, but like most girls, Joanne was a rookie who only used software to kill viruses. The way Brian handled the virus could not be cooler in her eyes.
However, didn't Brian major in finance? He actually could also do this?
Joanne leaned on his back and stuck her chin across his shoulder. Her eyes were like peach blossoms and full of delight. "Is there anything you can't do?"
Brian tapped on the Enter key. The code on the screen gradually disappeared, and the desktop slowly returned to normal.
He looked back at Joanne and raised the corner of his lips. "I can't do what Mrs. Megan told me to do just now."
Joanne thought about it and realized. What Mrs. Megan said was... to have a little Brian or little Joanne...
Her cheeks burst into two blushes in an instant, and she stomped his shoulder half-shyly and half-sullenly. "If you can even have children, then what's the point of having me?"
Just as she finished her last word, Brian suddenly turned around and grabbed her hand.
Everything was too sudden, and Joanne gasped subconsciously. She wanted to get away but was pulled back by a barbaric force. She could not resist it and was falling down-
In the next second, she fell on his laps.
She appeared so embarrassed because she couldn't respond smoothly, but Brian seemed at ease.
He lowered his head and almost brushed her ear with his lips. He whispered, "So when will you have a baby for me?"
When those aunties talked about this, Joanne at most blushed. However, when Brian asked her in such a suggestive way, she not only flushed but also almost exploded.
Brian's breath by her ear seemed to arouse one of her nerves. She acted unnaturally and stammered. "How, how... can I have a baby by myself?"
"Boohoo, does Brian think the child will automatically jump into her belly?"
"That makes sense."
Brian smiled with satisfaction and suddenly held Joanne's cheeks to kiss her lips.
Of course, he was not in a hurry to have a baby. He asked only to find out if Joanne was willing.
However, her answer surprised him. In his eyes, Joanne was a child who needed his care. That being said, she did not seem... to detest the idea of having a baby for him.
"Joanne." Brian's voice was low and very magnetic. "We will discuss this matter in the future, huh?"
They were adults, and how could Joanne miss the meaning of this sentence?
Her heart seemed to be equipped with an accelerator and started to race madly. Brian was also squeezing the air out of her lungs little by little. She couldn't use her head to think, only agreeing with whatever Brian had said.
She unconsciously circled her arms around Brian's waist, and the sound had escaped from the lips. "OK."
Brian suddenly hugged Joanne and pulled her into his arms with force. He entirely shackled Joanne. She could only accept his violent taking and could not move a bit.
He almost wanted to put on a brand on her saying that she was exclusively his.
The study suddenly became more like a small enclosed space, and the ambiguous smell filled in the air. Joanne tried to respond to his kiss...
For some unknown reason, this time, she felt more skillful than ever before...
She did not know how long it had been. Then, Brian loosened her before kissing her deeply for a few more times. He smirked, satisfied. "Not bad."
"..." Joanne looked blank-"What is not bad?"
Brian's slender fingers stroked her red and plump lips. "I have been teaching by myself for so long, and you have finally improved a bit."
Joanne put on a embarrased face in an instant.
She flexibly jumped off his laps. "Purely naughty."
"Brian," Iris's voice rang from far away, "Joanne? Dinner is ready, come and eat."
Joanne ran to the door of the study. "Mom, in a minute."
"Is he still fixing the computer?" Iris waved his hand. "Tell him to eat first. I can find someone to repair it later."
Brian closed the computer and got out of the study. "It's done."
He held Joanne's hand and took her downstairs.
The chef of their family cooked today's dinner, so the dishes were all Brian and Joanne's favorites. In the middle of the meal, Iris talked about Freya with Joanne.
"I saw her show on Friday night." Iris picked a piece of braised pork for Joanne. "That little girl reacts fast. She's cut out to be a star." What is she doing these days?"
Joanne shook her head. "I don't know. I can't reach her."
After dinner, it was not early. Iris urged Joanne and Brian to go back and rest soon.
The three of them all knew the deep meaning behind "rest soon" but did not say it out loud.
Joanne was too embarrassed to linger. She dragged Brian to fetch the car and go home.
On the way, Joanne was bored in the passenger's seat, so she flipped through the records but couldn't find one she liked very much. She gave up and rested her head on the windows, pondering on the mahjong game.
While considering it, she suddenly remembered something and asked Brian, "Why can you, Gavin, and your friends play mahjong? When did you learn it?"
"My mother couldn't find someone to play mahjong with her after going abroad, so she forced Yuchuan and me to learn." Brian said, "No matter how busy we were, we played with her once a week."
Joanne was slightly confused. "Why does mom like mahjong so much?"
Brian pondered for a moment before replying. "She and my dad met because of mahjong."
"What?" Joanne was so curious that she almost leaned toward Brian. "Is there a story?" Tell me."
Brian checked the map. He might need more than ten minutes of driving to get home and should finish the story just in time.
Thirty years ago, computer and mobile phones were still not widespread. In the few entertainment activities, card games were the most popular. It was the most normal thing to set up a game at a friend's home on weekends.
Iris first was the same as Joanne, knew nothing about mahjong and thought it was a complicated gambling game.
Thus, when Iris was invited to a friend's house that day, she was going to spend the boring weekend.
She did not expect to meet Brian's father. On the weekend, he still wore loose shirts, trousers, and a pair of graceful rimless glasses, but looked like he had it all planned.
Taking a closer look, she found that he had not only good card skills but also perfect looks.
Iris asked around and learned his name, and also knew that he was unmarried and currently single.
When she was young, Iris's character was somewhat similar to that of Freya. She never concealed what she wanted. She had been staring at Brian's father, and as expected, soon, he noticed her gaze.
Brian inherited his innate gentleman's aura from his father.
After discovering that Iris stared at himself, the man smiled politely and asked her if she wanted to learn to play mahjong.
They knew each other in this way. In the time of them knowing and falling in love with each other, mahjong was inevitably a vital factor. After they get married, they often invited several friends to their home, played mahjong, and cooked a good meal. Their life had been simple but sweet.
When Brian was sixteen years old, a car accident changed everything. After Iris came out of the shadow of losing her husband, she was still keen to play mahjong.
However, no one knew if she really liked to play mahjong or just wanted to remember the past when playing mahjong.
Brian and Gavin did not like those games. The reason why they were willing to learn and play it with Iris was to make her happy.
As he finished, he just stopped the black car in front of their home, and it was so quiet in the car that they could hear each other's breath.
Joanne took a deep breath and raised her lips. "I will play mahjong with mom once I have the time!"
Brian just smiled and turned to release the seat belt for Joanne. "Go on."
Joanne pushed open the door and got off. When Brian drove the car into the garage, she deliberately looked at him, but only had the time to see his profile. His face was mysterious as the night sky, hiding too much emotion she could not understand.
"Is it because I mentioned his dad?"
Joanne deliberately waited for him at the garage door. She dropped the previous topic and pestered him with questions about how to improve her mahjong level.
"Do you really like playing mahjong?" Brian was not sure about her enthusiasm.
"I do!" Joanne said, "Though it depends more on luck and is not suitable for people with real skills like me, every time I self-draw, form a Kong, or have a Chow from discard, I'm thrilled. Why shouldn't I like it?"
While speaking, she tugged at his hand. "Last time when you and Gavin played cards, I saw you. You have your way. Tell me the way, and I'll buy you candies next time I win."
Brian. "..."
Joanne had always believed that she should play it the hard way if playing nice didn't work. Thus, seeing him not swayed, she started to threaten him. "You want to have a baby or not?"
Brian's suggestively lifted the corner of his lips. "Why don't we have a baby first and then I'll tell you the secrets?"
Joanne was so angry that she pushed him, but of course her strength was not enough to push the tall Brian with a pair of long legs, and finally, she was shackled in his arms.
"Am I losing too much?"
Joanne was just about to fight back, and Brian suddenly told her an equation.
She was dazed. "What is that?"
Brian said, "Think about it yourself."
After he finished, he released Joanne and walked straight into the house.
Joanne looked at Brian's back and pursed her lips. "As if I couldn't!"
Back then, she was a student known for her excellent grades. "Will I be baffled by such a formula?"
After the shower, Joanne brought the pen and paper. She leaned on the bed and tried to solve the formula, just like facing a body full of puzzles.
When Brian went back to the room, Joanne still maintained that position, leaning on the bed. She sometimes knitted her delicate brows and sometimes stuck the pen below her nose, looking both serious and stubborn.
He walked over, and Joanne suddenly turned over and eagerly showed him the paper full of calculations. "I got it! Hey, can I play mahjong and beat everyone in the future just like you?"
Brian took the sheet to check and found Joanne really deduced it.
Joanne smiled out of the satisfaction of achievement and waited for his praise, but he just put the paper aside and said, "We should do something else."
Joanne was stunned, and before she figured out what was that something, Brian had leaned down to her. She watched his facial features drawing closer...
"Lu, Brian..." She swallowed. "What are you doing?"
Brian raised the corner of his lips. "What do you think?"
Joanne subconsciously reached out to block Brian and became tongue-tied. "That, that..."
Brian looked at her amusingly. "That what?" Then, he drew a little nearer to her.
"Boohoo..." Joanne almost cried, "Don't..."
"Fool, so where do you think the kids come from?"
Joanne's eyes widened, and her both hands clung to the sheets underneath her. She could refuse him now, but she couldn't say a single word because she was nervous.
In the next second, Brian suddenly grabbed her hands and pinned them over the top of her head, and then his lips hit her...
