Chapter 208 Remember I Love You

Joanne didn't wait for Brian for long. After breakfast, he said, "Winston will send you to work."

During this period, Joanne went to work with Brian every day. She almost got used to this. She suddenly felt uncomfortable because there were only her and Winston in the car, but she obediently nodded and went out with Brian.

"If there is something in the next few days, call Gavin," Brian urged.

"Gavin won't go with you?" Joanne remembered that Brian had gone with Gavin before, so she involuntarily felt a little strange. "Who are you taking this time?"

"The secretary."

Joanne said nothing.

"You're anxious about me bringing a secretary?" Brian turned his head and said in Joanne's ear, "You can call me at any time to inspect."

Joanne pushed him. "I'm not so bored!"

In fact, it was because she was quite reassured by Brian.

Winston saw the two coming out and got off to open the door of the back seat for Joanne. "Young Madam, please get on."

"I am leaving." Joanne tore free from Brian's hand and tried to take a brisk walk to Simon. She couldn't help but look back at Brian before getting on the car.

Brian still stood in the same place and kept looking at her.

She felt embarrassed and lowered her head to the car. Suddenly she heard Brian's voice. "Joanne."

"OK?"

Joanne then turned back, her shoulder was suddenly caught, and the next second she slammed into Brian's arms, his warm lips covered, slid on her lips and kissed...

She closed her eyes and naturally wrapped Brian's waist. At this time, she suddenly remembered that not only Winston, but Clark who came to pick up Brian and Simon who took out the luggage were also watching them!

Was this okay?

Suddenly aware of Joanne's distraction, Brian dissatisfiedly buckled her with his arms. Joanne "snapped" and was immediately relieved.

Everything... would have the first time. They could get used to it.

After a full kiss, Brian loosened Joanne. Her white cheeks had already spread two blushes. The beautiful peach blossoms were covered with a layer of water that made people have the urge to immediately put her in their arms.

"Joanne," Brian deeply looked at Joanne. "Remember what I said."

Joanne was stunned-what was Brian referring to?

Brian bowed his head and almost brushed Joanne's ear. "I love you."

Ka-boom!-

Like something blasting in her mind without warning, Joanne's hands and feet didn't know where to go. For a long time, she just squeezed out one sentence, "I'll get in the car."

She almost escaped to the car. "Winston, let's go."

"OK."

Winston replied readily, but he started the car unhurriedly. Joanne did not notice the rushing heartbeat, secretly looking out the window; Brian still stood outside the car door, looking at her.

Winston said, "Young Madam, should we wait a little longer? I'll hurry up to send you to the police station on time."

"No need." Joanne blushed and regained her senses. "Go now."

She and Brian would not part forever, and kissing was enough.

Besides, if she still stayed, Brian would miss his flight.

Winston saw Brian was also ready to get on the car; he said nothing and started the engine.

After the two cars drove out of the villa area, they drove in different directions. Joanne turned her head and stared at Brian's car, but it eventually disappeared from her sight.

She sighed and counted in her heart, Tuesday, Wednesday...Sunday, one day, two days... six days.

What to do? She had begun to feel the hard days.

Forty minutes later, the car stopped in front of the police station, and the heavy workload waited for Joanne. She was happy to do something, so there was not much time to miss Brian.

Still busy with David's murder, Joanne and Shawn worked together until 7:00. The two came out of the anatomy room. Not having entered the office yet, Shawn had spotted something and yelled. "Hey, Joanne, something romantic from your husband?"

Joanne's seat was filled with a large bouquet of white roses, which were exquisitely packaged, obviously expensive.

Hannah jumped and said, "At four o'clock in the afternoon, a flower shop sent it. When Joanne was busy, I signed for her. The flowers are really beautiful! Mr. Brian is wealthy."

Only Joanne was shocked and thrilled.

Brian was on the plane, how could he send flowers to her?

She walked back to her seat and soon found a card in the flower. The line was of messy handwriting: I specially chose the white rose for you, which is very suitable for you. Remember to keep it well.

Inscribed by Rowdy.

How could he think that white roses would suit her?

This man was too arrogant!

Joanne smiled at Xiaoying. "If you like them, I will buy a bunch for you tomorrow." Then she picked up the bag, said goodbye to Shawn and left with the flowers.

There was a trash can not far from the police station. Joanne directly walked and threw them away. The white roses that were imported from thousands of miles away had just become garbage. Rowdy's hand-written card was also stuffed in the middle of the flowers.

Winston paid attention to this matter but did not ask Joanne about it.

It was still during the evening rush hour, and the car was forced to halt from time to time. The private road was smooth all the way into the villa area, the lights on both sides of the road continued to pass from the window. Joanne looked at the empty position beside her. Suddenly she really wanted to be with Brian.

The more Rowdy was attentive, the more she was afraid; but, if Brian was there, she would not be so upset.

When arriving home, Simon told Joanne that the dinner was ready. Joanne ate a little and went back to the room after bathing. She didn't sleep, just holding the phone.

At eleven o'clock sharp, the phone finally vibrated a little. Brian's text message jumped out: 'I arrived.'

She had waited for so long, and he only said three words?

Joanne's dissatisfaction almost blew up, and finally, she decided to take the initiative to call Brian.

She was surprised that after dialing, Brian would immediately pick it up. His voice crossed the ocean and passed to her ear. "Why don't you sleep?"

Joanne's fingers were fiddling with the sheets. "I couldn't sleep." Suddenly, she said indignantly, "You're to blame!"

Brian smiled. "Why blame me?"

"Why are you out on business...?

"Miss me?" Brian's voice sounded extraordinarily pleasant.

Joanne wouldn't admit it, biting her lip. "Brian, I will tell you one thing when you come back."

She decided to confess to Brian about the flowers from Rowdy.

That person was not easy to handle, and no one had ever made her so uneasy. She wanted to tell this to Brian.

"OK." Brian said, "Go to sleep, it's late."

Joanne deliberately teased Brian and asked with a smile, "How can I sleep?"

Brian could easily handle such a small trick. "I will tell you if you call me husband."

Joanne licked her lips and when she made such a soft sound. "Husband~"

In London, Brian, who was heading to the hotel lobby, paused and grabbed his mobile phone with his right hand. He suddenly regretted making this request.

Now, he only wanted to fly back to the country immediately. It would be best to get to Joanne's side the next second, wrap her into his arms, and revel on her sweetness.

He slightly lowered his voice. "Lie down and cover up with the quilt."

"Oh." Joanne obediently did what he ordered. "And then?"

"Close your eyes." Brian counted the time difference and found it was nearly midnight at home, and then his voice softened. "Don't misbehave. Hurry and go to sleep, you have to go to work tomorrow."

Joanne was also sleepy, and she yawned with her hands clapping over her mouth. Vaguely answering with an "hmm", she said, "I'll hang up, then."

Brian answered with an "hmm", who was trying to put the phone away, but suddenly saw the screen shake. Joanne's face appeared on the screen, but she closed her eyes and seemed to be unaware of all this.

In fact, it was not difficult to explain that Joanne clicked wrong when she hung up, accidentally connecting the video call and throwing the mobile phone. The front camera was right in front of her face.

Brian's finger was about to touch the hang-up button, but he took it back. The corner of his lip was unconsciously raised.

The accompanying secretaries and assistants were horrified, for Boss to actually laugh at the screen after he and his wife finished the call. It was really weird.

After checking in the hotel, the secretary came to ask Brian, "Mr. Brian, do we arrange to work right away or..."

"Have a rest." Brian said, "Everyone takes some time to get over the jet lag."

The secretary barely believed her ears.

Brian was a workaholic. He was crazy to go to work immediately, wherever he went on a business trip. Jet lag was a joke to him. They were used to travel with Brian and became workaholics. But now Brian actually talked about getting over the jet lag...

"Something evil is lurking!" The secretary could only come up with this explanation, although she firmly believed in science as an atheist.

No one knew Brian's "something evil" was Joanne.

Joanne fell asleep quickly. When Brian entered the room, she was already asleep. The shallow breathing sound came from the phone from time to time. Brian put down his luggage and couldn't finish unpacking and lay down on the bed.

He put the phone on the side of the pillow, leaning. As long as he could see Joanne with his eyes open, miraculously, he suddenly felt that the room was not so empty.

He reached out to touch the face of Joanne on the screen, his lips slightly raised, miraculously falling asleep in the end.

Both work and business were put behind his mind when Joanne was in the picture.

At home, Joanne was unaware of her accidental acts. She slept soundly throughout the night.

Early next morning, Joanne was awakened by the cold.

Autumn was nearing and the weather was getting colder and colder. But without Brian holding her, she started to kick away the quilt in the middle of the night again. She woke up with a sneeze and stumbled to find Brian. "Husband, Im cold..."

After she finished, she realized. Brian was abroad. She opened her eyes; sure enough, the other side of the bed was empty.

It was just six o'clock, and it was dawn, Joanne suddenly felt that her heart was empty. She got up and picked the quilt up from the ground, wrapped herself, and suddenly saw the cell phone on her pillow.

Brian! On the screen!

"Ahhhhh-"

All of a sudden, Joanne was so scared that she completely woke up. Brian frowned at the screen, and she finally found out that they were in a video call.

Uh, didnt she hang up the phone yesterday? Or did she accidently make a video call?

On the screen, Brian opened his eyes and saw Joanne with a look of horror and smiled. "Morning."

Joanne's lips trembled, and she answered with a shaken voice, "Morning..."

She didn't behave normally. Brian sat up with his mobile phone and asked, "What happened?"

"My phone bill..." Joanne desperately covered her face.

With this international video call all night long, she would need to pay for her phone bill soon in the next few days...
