Wesley checked Yuna up and down, and pushed her to the kitchen unhappily, "I didn't have dinner, go cook something for me."
Yuna pouted and hung Wesley's coat on the back of the sofa. She walked to the kitchen and suddenly heard his voice, "I am not interested in flat bodies."
She bowed and checked on herself, then went to the kitchen with anger. She opened two boxes of instant noodles, poured both bags of seasoning into one box of noodles, and took it to Wesley after it was done and put it in front of him,"I only know how to make instant noodles aside from boiling water. Eat it or don't, suit yourself."
When Wesley was a teenager, he used to hide together with his uncle from the family and lived a rugged outdoor life; he had eaten much worse things than instant noodles.
So, he didn't dislike instant noodles, but looked at Yuna deeply. He suddenly raised his lips and said, "Come eat with me, go make another one."
Yuna goggled and decisively stopped Wesley, "Brother Wesley, go ahead, I am not hungry!"
Brother Wesley raised his hand and touched Yuna's hair very lovingly. "I didn't say that you were hungry, I'm asking you to eat with me."
"..." Yuna was devastated. But she made the noodles, and she had to finish them in front of Wesley happily.
After eating the instant noodles with double seasoning, Yuna smiled at Wesley with satisfaction. "Although I cannot cook, I'm pretty good at making them!"
Wesley just smiled, which made Yuna really angry, tearing that smile over and over again in her heart.
'Damn, it was just noodles, couldn't he just take it easy?'
'Why did he laugh in such a charming way?'
That evening, Yuna certainly didn't sleep well. The instant noodles were hot and salty. She drank a lot of water before going to sleep. After she fell asleep, she dreamed that Wesley laughed at her, but found that she just wanted to go to the bathroom after she woke up at night. She finally fell asleep again, and woke up again at four or five in the morning.
She had to get out of the warm bed to drink water; Yuna thought before going to sleep that she would make a little puppet and write his name on it the next day, and prick him countless times every day!
The next day, Yuna was awakened by the phone ringing.
She picked up the phone unconsciously, and an angry male voice came from the earpiece, "You know nothing about Wesley's actions yesterday?"
Yuna suddenly woke up and bounced out of bed. She asked, "What actions?"
Before the person on the other side of the phone said anything else, someone knocked on her door. "Yuna."
Yuna immediately went quiet and hung up the phone to open the door. Wesley glanced at her and asked, "Who are you talking to?"
Yuna pretended to be calm and raised the mobile phone but inside she was in panic; she acted as if she were unwilling to mention more about it, and then stared at Wesley. She said, "You guys... never like women who are always in sight, easy to get and who love you with full heart?"
Wesley smiled coldly and said, "There is only one reason why a man would be unwilling to accept a woman: he doesn't like a single thing of her. It has nothing to do with the distance."
Yuna put on a serious face. "What do you mean?"
Wesley did not answer but asked, "Who are you secretly in love with?"
Yuna's eyes widened. She seemed to be embarrassed and her cheeks turned red, unable to make a complete sentence for a long time.
Wesley snorted with contempt. "You are still young, don't learn from those people about some secret love."
He seemed to be unwilling to stay with such a mentally handicapped girl for half a second, and turned around to go downstairs without even mentioning why he knocked on the door.
Until his back disappeared into the stairway, the expression on Yuna's face gradually returned to normal.
She closed the door and laid back on the bed.
'Who said that Wesley was not easy to lie? Didn't she just fool him?'
Although, there was half a truth in that joke.
She sent a text message to the number that had just called, saying that she had recently been with Wesley; then she deleted the traces and went to wash and change clothes to go downstairs.
Wesley sat in the restaurant and was reading a document. She walked over to him and sat down, took a piece of bread and coated it with chocolate sauce. She asked, "What is that about?"
Wesley handed over the information. Yuna took a look and was almost choked by the bread. She said, "A report on the cause of the collapse of the 4th and 17th buildings of Fontine Gardens?"
In the past two days, that incident had been raging, and Yuna had heard about it, but... Why did Wesley study that report?
She remembered that he had taken her to A city in a hurry yesterday, so she had already realized. "The important thing in Arlington you said yesterday was to investigate the collapse of Fontine Gardens?"
Wesley gave Yuna an unusual admirable look. "Yes."
"But," Yuna had finished skim reading through the report. "From the preliminary investigation, the responsibility... falls entirely on Lu's Real Estate."
"This is just the 'the truth' that the murderer wants the police to find out," Wesley said, "We need to find out the real cause of the accident."
"The murderer behind the scenes-" Yuna asked hesitantly, "Who is that?"
"If you know-" Wesley didn't say the word "dangerous" to show that he cared about her, so he said, "You don't need to know, just follow my lead. I have to find out the truth as soon as possible."
Yuna quietly responded, and followed him out after having breakfast.
Wesley took the same car with his bodyguard; Yuna and Kai took another.
Yuna wanted to ask Kai about what he and Wesley did last night, but Kai seemed to be honest; he was actually a very sensitive person, so even a little bit of abnormality would cause his suspicion. She had to swallow the question back and asked something serious, "Why is Brother Wesley investigating this?"
"Since he brought you here, I will tell you. The president of Lambert Group is his friend," Kai said.
Yuna nodded. "I know this. I mean-is he good at investigating these situations?"
"Ummm..." Kai indulged for a moment and finally found the right way to put it, "It should be said that he can do many things that cannot be done in public. So investigating such an accident, he's actually more convenient than the police."
Yuna understood, then Kai suddenly said with confidence, "If Brother Wesley decided to be a part of it, he must find out the truth!"
"Why are you so sure?" Yuna expressed doubts.
"Didn't you see what he is capable of?" Kai said, "It only took Brother Wesley a few days to turn over the old cases of Griffin and your father's old case. Seventh brother took a few days to reverse the case, and also sent Griffin to prison."
Yuna did not respond for a long time, and looked at Wesley's car in front of her with astonishment. "My father's case, wasn't it someone giving the police a key piece of evidence to reverse the case?"
"Who do you think is the person who found the key evidence?" Kai smiled and was somewhat proud. "I dare to say that in Arlington, no one except Brother Wesley can find evidence and the witness in such a short time."
For a few seconds, Yuna's mind was in chaos.
'How could it be Wesley?'
In order to reverse the case for her father, she worked so hard for so many years and returned to the Glasgow to wait for the opportunity. Wesley, accomplished something she thought would take half a lifetime to do, without making an effort.
That was not the point. The point was, why the person who helped her was Wesley?
She would rather it would be a stranger who had nothing to do with her.
"Yuna, it turns out you didn't know it," Kai was very surprised, "We all knew about it and we were privately wondering if Brother Wesley likes you!"
Yuna felt something strange in her heart, and was suddenly a bit overwhelming. Don't tease me, it's impossible.
She would nod if they said that Wesley disliked her.
How could a person who once looked indifferent while she was being bullied-and still bullied her himself in recent days, expressing despise-would like her?
However, why did he still help her to send the murderer who killed her father to prison, without telling her?
He clearly knew that no matter what he asked at the time, she could possibly agree.
That day, Yuna acted a bit strange.
First of all, she did not act contrary to Wesley, and no matter what he said, she just nodded and totally agreed.
Even though she was scolded by him for being slow, she smiled and accepted. "Brother Wesley, I was wrong, I will change right now!"
She did not only say it, she did speed up. She was really fast when sorting all kinds of documents and information.
When it was time to eat dinner, she gently reminded Wesley to have a meal.
He brought Yuna to a restaurant and asked for a private room for only the two of them. The waiter sent the menu in. He pushed it in front of Yuna and said, "You order."
Yuna looked through the menu and quickly ordered a few dishes, avoiding what Wesley did not eat.
If it was before, she would order something that he didn't like to eat, since she was on duty with him for a whole day. She would also say,"I know you don't eat, I just ordered them to piss you off."
Wesley had given up the urge to strangle Yuna countless times, but that time he did not have to bear it. When the waiter went out, he asked, "Yuna, did you make any mistakes?"
Yuna brushed her nose and said, "How?"
Wesley leaned back. "Why are you so obedient today?"
"Two reasons," Yuna said, "The first reason is that I want to help Joanne find the murderer, if it's really like what you said, that someone is trying to frame Lambert Group. The second is because... I know what happened."
Wesley slightly frowned and figured out why she was being so obedient. He was not surprised, since she would find out sooner or later.
"Brother Wesley, thank you." Yuna's smart eyes were full of sincerity.
Wesley acted like it was nothing. "A piece of cake."
Yuna was almost choked to death.
Wesley couldn't imagine what she could do to reverse the case, but for him, it was just easy...
People couldn't compare themselves with each other.
After eating and returning to the villa, Yuna sorted out the information and clues found that day and shook her head. "These are useless. We need to go to the scene, otherwise we can't even find a breakthrough."
Wesley said, "Later."
"Today?" Yuna's eyes widened. The accident has just happened. The police will send people to protect the scene. If we go... will the police arrest us?
Wesley looked at Yuna desperately. He took away the document she sorted out and checked again, then stared at her to warn her, "Just follow me when we are there at the scene. I will snap off one your legs and leave it at the scene if you dare to act recklessly."
Yuna trembled. "Why?"
Wesley stared at her coldly and frowned with discontent, "Why do you ask so many questions?"
He couldn't tell Yuna because he didn't want her to be discovered by Rowdy and put her in danger.
