Chapter 317 Pregnant? (3)

The next day.

Joanne woke up from the chaotic dream, and the morning light had covered the entire room.

Her hands subconsciously stroked on her belly, and she actually felt a calm satisfaction.

Since she left, her sleep time had been shortened considerably. She woke up early and always felt empty. If it weren't for the morning light, she would even suspect that she would be drowned by silence and emptyness.

But when she realized that she had another entity, she understood that there was a responsibility on her shoulders. She could no longer just care for herself.

She got up and dressed, then took what she had bought yesterday into the bathroom.

There were indeed two red bars, a sign of pregnancy.

Although she was psychologically prepared, she still felt very happy, and sad.

She was no longer by herself; the little life she and Brian conceived was in her stomach, but it was at that time.

Joanne had no time to adjust her mood, and the doorbell suddenly sounded.

"Who was it so early?"

Being worried that Chris would be awakened, Joanne threw the pregnancy test stick to open the door, and Brian's long and straight figure came into view.

She was shocked, and her face suddenly went pale, subconsciously closing the door.

Brian quickly reached out and blocked with his hand on the door frame. He looked at Joanne with a smile. "Are you so scared to see me?" That only showed that his guess from the day before was correct.

"I..." Joanne dodged her sights and quickly returned to normal. She kept a distance from Brian. "Who knows if you will suddenly get out of control like yesterday?"

Brian was silent for a moment and slowly said, "What if I tell you that I've come here to sign?"

She heard that sentence without warning, and stunned her for a while.

In order to make Brian sign the divorce agreement, during those few days, she did not know how many brain cells had died. Just the previous day, she thought that Brian would never sign the paper, but he suddenly and calmly went there, promising to sign.

Maybe the day before, she had really angered him.

For a time, Joanne did not know whether she was sad or not, so she opened the door and said, "Then, come in."

She took Brian into the living room, thinking in a confused way, going back to the room to take out the agreement.

However, why did she go to the kitchen?

Since she went there, she couldn't return with nothing; otherwise Brian would detect abnormalities.

So, she opened the refrigerator and took a bottle of mineral water and handed it to Brian in the living room. She said, "Wait a minute."

She swayed back to the room like a wandering soul, found the agreement that she had signed, and took it out for Brian.

Brian took the agreement calmly and turned to the last page; then the tip of the pen reached the place where he should sign.

Joanne stared at his nib and looked hollow. She felt that something in her heart was dying bit by bit.

If Brian signed, then everything between them would be over.

At that time, Brian suddenly put the pen down and looked up at Joanne. "If you want me to sign, you have to cooperate with me first."

"What is it?" Joanne always had a bad feeling when her eyes met Brian's.

"Follow me to the hospital," Brian said.

Joanne felt a shock in her heart, and her head appeared blank for half a second-no wonder Brian suddenly promised to sign, he had noticed it already!

If she promised him to go to the hospital, her pregnancy would be confirmed. Then Brian would take her home directly from the hospital; she would not be able to mention the divorce again.

Therefore, she had to avoid going to the hospital with Brian!

Joanne took two steps back and shook her head. "I'm not feeling uncomfortable. I just ate something wrong so I threw up yesterday. Why do I have to go to the hospital?"

Brian smiled coolly. Did I say that I want you to see a doctor? Maybe I just want you to accompany me to see a doctor?

After he finished, his smile disappeared slowly.

There was no need to go to the hospital. From Joanne's reaction, he could guess that she was indeed pregnant.

Joanne realized that she had exposed herself and her scalp felt numb. She subconsciously wanted to escape, but how could she be faster than Brian? Before she even had time to step forward, Brian had already clung to her hand and asked dangerously, "Where do you want to go?"

"Let me go!" Joanne struggled hard, "I won't go back with you!"

Brian squinted. "Do you still want to divorce?"

"I still do!" Joanne looked straight into Brian. "It is you who have been entangling things and refusing to sign, otherwise we would already be strangers!"

"Strangers?" Brian's face was suddenly depressed. He circled Joanne's waist and held her in his arms. "We have been married for a year, and you are still a stranger to me, huh?"

Joanne was afraid of hurting the child, so she did not dare to struggle, and turned her head coldly. "Is Rosalyn not a stranger to you, either?"

Since she couldn't make him sign by angering him, then he might become bored if she was unwilling to listen to explanations and continued being unreasonable.

Brian's eyes were ignited with anger, but he controlled himself very well within two seconds. Then all the anger turned into a sneer. I know what you are thinking. Today, you either go to the hospital, or go home with me!"

Absolutely not-there was an inner voice warning Joanne. No matter where she went, if she followed Brian out of that door, then everything would have been in vain.

"I won't go anywhere with you! Brian, let me go!"

Joanne suddenly acted like an animal out of control; regardless of the fierce struggle, her wrist was only rubbed by the effort, turning red in a short time.

She could bet that Brian would feel bad to see it.

Brian really raised his eyebrows. Seemingly angry, actually more distressed, he let go of her and growled, "Joanne!"

Joanne quickly retreated, pointing to the door and saying to Brian, "If you are not here to sign, then you can leave immediately!"

Chris was in light sleep, and had heard the sound outside. It was just that it was not convenient to go out because he hadn't changed clothes. At that time, he was finally dressed neatly. When he opened the door, he saw Joanne and Brian in confrontation. One was destined to win, the other looked like a stampede, neither of them were willing to compromise.

He had to act like a brother to control the scene. "What is going on this early in the morning!?"

Joanne went back to the room. "Brother, ask him to take the agreement and leave. I won't go back with him!" After returning to the room, she quickly locked the door.

Brian's face was extremely gloomy; it could almost drip out water. Chris was afraid that he would really smash the door to take Joanne away, so he told him to enter the study.

Chris was not sure about what Brian already knew. He tentatively said, "You know how much she likes to stay in bed, she must be angry with you if you wake her up."

Brian looked cold and serious as he said, "Joanne may be pregnant."

Chris held his forehead. Yesterday, he had expected for Joanne not to reveal any flaws. She had really let him down.

Brian saw Chris's reaction and squinted. "You already knew?"

"Calm down," Chris said, "I was suspicious about it yesterday morning. As for Joanne... she only noticed last night."

Brian turned and went out. "She must go home with me today."

"Wait," Chris called Brian. "She may also be in shock. Give her a day and let her think about it. I will also persuade her. Maybe she will figure it out and go home tomorrow."

"..." Brian's eyes were full of doubts, obviously not assured.

Chris had to say, "I will keep an eye on her for you. If you have time to hang around with her here, it is better to go back and find out what she is holding from you."

Though he didn't believe in other things, Brian still believed that Chris would take care of Joanne, so he nodded and left Chris's apartment.

Chris sighed and knocked on Joanne's door. Joanne was still worried that it would be Brian, and she did not say anything. He had to say, "It is me, Brian has already left."

The door was opened, and Joanne's head popped up. She went out after she was sure that Brian was not there. Her hands were uneasy and twisted together. Brother, I might fail.

Chris patted her head. "You failed yesterday!" Then he paused and asked, "What's the result?"

Joanne pursed her lips and then nodded.

Chris sighed. "I helped you gain a day. Tomorrow when Brian comes again, you can't hide in the room. Think about what to do."

Joanne felt awkward and shook her head. "I don't know."

"Joanne," Chris stood next to her and said, "I don't know what you are doing, but now the situation is special. I still think you should tell him the story. You don't know what to do, but he definitely knows."

Joanne shook her head. "I can't."

Once she refrained from divorcing Brian, she didn't know what Kang Ruichen would do, but she knew that it was definitely crazier than the collapse of Fontine Gardens.

Lambert Group had just suffered a heavy blow and was still recovering. At the moment, it could hardly stand another blow.

"If you don't do this, you can only be brought back by him" Chris said, "You know him. In that case, he can't let you go any further."

"I will think of other ways," Joanne held her head and said to herself, "there must be other ways."

Chris's brows gradually began to rise.

The situation had been special up to that point; Joanne still prefered to find ways rather than to confess to Brian.

The person who threatened her was by no means an admirer or a business opponent of Brian's.

Who was it?

Before Chris came up with a possibility, Joanne suddenly raised her head. "Brother, is Wendy doing an internship at the Eighth Hospital?"

Chris nodded. "Yes."

"Tell me her phone number." Joanne was extraordinarily desperate.

Chris had always been responsive to Joanne, but at the moment he dared not easily agree with her. "What will you do?"

"I thought of a solution," Joanne said, "But I need you and Wendy to cooperate with me."

Chris sent Wendy's number to Joanne. From her conversation with Wendy, he vaguely guessed Joanne's so-called "method.

Crazy, but decisive.

If Brian knew of it, he might be completely desperate with Joanne, and his trust in her would be gone.

But Joanne could't care of anything else, and she insisted on doing that.
